That's pretty surprising...
We already knew that Phil Weinstein, director of Balto 2 & 3 worked as a storyboard artist on The Lion King 2. (check this topic : viewtopic.php?t=124)

But Simon Wells, the director of the original Balto, worked on Spirit as a storyboard artist too! I had never knew that, but his name does appear in the ending of Spirit.

He was even nominated for an award :

30th Annual Annie Award Nominees and Winners

Storyboarding in an Animated Feature Production

*

Ronnie Del Carmen "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron"
*

Larry Leker "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron"
*

Simon Wells "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron"

And as a coincidence, there's that just below :

Storyboarding in an Animated Television Production

*

Bryan Andrews "Samurai Jack Episode VII"
*

Todd Britton "Balto 2: Wolf Quest"
*

Seung Eun Kim "Jackie Chan Adventures - Queen of the Shadowkhan"

yeah, I think he did Prince of Egypt too.. as well as We're Back! dinosaur's story and Fievel goes west.

according to IMDB was supposed to be re-lated to H.G Wells , author of the time machine novel.

Yes, he is the grandson of HG Wells. He made "The Time Machine" film (which I liked very much, even if it had got bad reviews), based on the book.

As we can see from Balto, Spirit, and other movies he was producer, Simon Wells is realy an amaizing producer, for witch I bow before him.

I'm wondering if we shouldn't at least send warnings when members bring up a very old topic, without any good reason...
Anyway, to add to this topic, I also saw Who framed Roger Rabbit recently, and I noticed that he was in the lead staff for animation too.
Talking about that film, Bob Hoskins who plays the voice of Boris in Balto is also the main character of Roger Rabbit (the detective), and the voice of Roger Rabbit is Charles Fleischer who is also the voice of Boris in the Balto sequels...Go figure

HA! That is rather funny . . . and slightly ironic! (Thanks, Steet - you just made me wanna rent that movie now . . . seriously . . .) It's like Boris . . . meet Boris! LOL
