Well, while Balto was born and lived in Nome for his first three years, he spent the rest of his life in Cleveland (with a short period of floating around). Cleveland and its citizens did a great deal for him.

Yeah, Cleveland deserves to keep Balto. They did more for him than Nome or Alaska ever did.

Yeah, they were the ones who allowed Balto and the sled team to be sold to that crap dime-a-look museum. Cleveland deserves it.

Balto sould stay in Cleveland Ohio and Balto is apart of the Cleveland museum collection. Moveing Balto could be risky for beaing vary fragel of age, could cause Balto to break. Nome really did nothing to deserve Balto back. becids who would want to travel half way to the north pole to see Balto? So no Balto should not go back to Nome Alaska.

I think Balto should return to Nome, I mean that's his hometown and I think he belongs there.

Well, I think Balto should be in Nome, but I think Cleveland deserves to keep Balto for their hard work to save him. So I think he should stay in Cleveland ;)

Hmm.. I think he should stay. He's safe where he is and obviously much appreciated. Does Nome actually have a museum?

Yes, the "Carrie M. McLain Memorial Museum", where the mount of Fritz is located (co-leader on Leonhard Seppala's team, which Togo was lead dog of). It contains much history of Nome, and the serum run, and many photos and records.

However, Balto got very little out of Nome. Really, Cleveland and its citizens did much more for him. He really deserves to remain there. Balto was a no-name dog before the serum run, spent only three living years in Nome, and left with most of his team shortly after the serum run, never to return. He spent much more of his life outside of Nome, down in the U.S.

Oh right. Well, if Balto didn't even reside in Nome then why should the town get his body? He should stay in Cleveland. -nods-

He did...but only for the first three years of his eleven-year life span.

Of course Cleveland should keep him! The children gave their milk money to help save him from the treatment in LA. Besides, it's nice having him so close

I think Balto should go to Nome.

I agree Cleveland did alot for him buying him from the owner who mistreated his team and other stuff.

However, Balto lived in Nome for three years, and some of the students at schools there want him back.

That's a blockheaded question if I've ever seen one. Who would want to travel to Cleveland? It depends on where you live.

The townspeople deserve the right to remember their past and history.

That's the thing that baffles me:

In the Krim (peninsula) of Ukraine, there's a city called Sevastopol. They take pride in saying they fought the Krimean war (Krim belonged to Russia before, the Ukranians didn't fight that). They sunk their own ships in the bay entrance so the long poles would stop incoming ships. They have a statue for this. You cant walk two feet without seeing a statue of some sort.

I doubt Nome has a interesting history, so they at least deserve a small thing like the corpse of a dead dog. Is that too much to ask for?

How could you deny the townspeople this? They didn't have control over Balto's purchase; his owner did! And a town couldn't stop anyone! The newspaper writers published alot of stories of this, so everyone wanted him.

He most definitely should be moved to Alaska. Besides, I live in washington, which is the closest state.

I would agree because a man who died is on a cemetary in the near of his home or a place he loved. And Nome was Baltos home and he stayed there the most time of his life.
