Released in 1981 by Nintendo, Donkey Kong a true milestone in video game history, The Challenge of creating the game was given to the fahter of video games as we know it, Shigeru Miyamoto, who had no game programming experience and was led soley by his imagination. DK, established an entire genre of games with levels that involved climbing ladders and avoiding rolling barrels of doom. the success, however, led to a lawsuit filed by..... Universal Studios which claimed that Donkey Kong infringed on thier copyright for the 1929 movie.. King Kong.. However, Universal lost the suit and ended paying $1.8 million in Penalties. Of Course, this won the hearts of gamers world-wide and Nintendo collected more that enough 'quarters' to fund future console gaming endevors...
