Well as much as I love my PC, I have to say that the Mac has an interesting design with the hard drive integrated into the monitor. Other then that most people said it sucks and from the looks of it it does. So that's PC for me ^^

Actually, "Macs" are quite more efficient systems than systems running "Windows" related operating systems.

You won't really take the difference between the hardware of PC's and Macs as a user, so, I guess you're primarily talking about the operating systems of "Mac" and "PC" (Hence... "OS X" for Macs and "Windows" for PC).

Technically, Unix systems (to which OS X belongs) are the favored to almost any programmer, as they don't waste system resources up on stupid clients that set, reset and update your OS all the time. Specially Macs are the favorites to graphics and cgi designers, as these computers are optimized by hard- as well as soft-ware for exactly those purposes.

Windows, on the other hand, is a product for the mass. Windows' power lies in its automatic setups and clients that update it. Hence - as a user you don't need to know anything about configuring and running the system... THAT'S the only reason why almost everyone uses Windows.

So... what do I use?

My hardware always bases on PC-components. I build my computers myself, hence, I don't ever buy ready made systems from firms like HP, Dell, Acer, Apple (Mac) - or - whatever else. While that is a "PC", I don't use DOS or Windows (operating systems of Microsoft). I run Linux as operating system (which belongs to the UNIX family, btw) with KDE as desktop environment.

Actually, I don't see why you use "Windows" for media files. Linux supports them all, with the right players installed - well - they run even better on Linux, in my opinion.

The only reason why you sometimes need to run Windows, that's if you want to play games. Most of them are compiled for Windows, a few very rare for Mac, and none of them for Linux. There are a few OpenSource projects that run on Linux, as well as you can try to run a PC game with emulators, but that's it. All other programs can easily be run in WINE, but with games it's a bit tricky.

PC! For me so much more stuff you can do.

By doing that statement, you make clear that you haven't ever really "used" a computer.

Mac is a way better computer than PC. Their included multimedia devices can run circles around PC....way fewer viruses even put against a PC with the best virus scanner money can buy. They last longer, they work better...*sigh* I am a total Mac girl.

I have always been a PC person. You can take apart and update a PC, not a mac. Windows is so much more intuitive to use than MAC OS X or any other mac os. PLuas macs are SO DANG SLOW!! i have never used a Powermac or an imac, but i imagine they are just as bad as the emacs. I have never been able to figure out how to burn a CDRW or more importantly, erase a CDRW. It is frickin impossible. the schools macs scrwed up 5 of my cd rw discs. macs suck. GO WITH WINDOWS XP OR VISTA!!!!

Macs are waaaaay too confuzzling! When I was at my Auntie's house in London - I went onto her laptop(to go onto Balto Source XD) and she had a Mac...and I could hardly do anything...

I managed it in the end though  PC's are much more clearer and reliable to me  ^^ xD
