Hey, this is my first fan fic, so I really hpe you like it.

Chapter One: Rebecca's Life
Belle nuzzled her newborn daughter lovingly, "My little Rebecca, welcome to the family."
Belle, her mate, Thomas, and their newborn pup, Rebecca, were laying in a cave to escape winter's cold.
"Belle, she looks beautifull," Thomas said, looking at his daughter.
"She looks like her father." Belle said, lovingly.
"Except her eyes," said Thomas, "she has her mother's eyes."
Thomas and Belle nuzzled eachother as Rebecca nursed.

After about two months, Rebecca grew into a mischievus pup.
"Rebecca settle down, it's time for you to get some sleep." Thomas said, laying next to Belle, as Rebecca ran around the cave.
"But I'm not tired, papa." she said, running over and laying down next to her mother.
"Well, you're going to need the rest," Belle said. nuzzlin her daughter, "We have a big day tomorrow."
"What's happening tomorrow?" asked Rebecca.
"Tomorrow, we're going to teach you how to hunt for food."
"Really?" Rebecca asked, feeling excited.
"Yes," Thomas yawned, "And you're going to need all the energy you can get, so you better sleep or you'll be too tired to hunt tomorrow."
"Okay, goodnight." Rebecca rested her head, closed her eyes, and fell asleep, feeling excited about hunting tomorrow.

Thomas, Belle, and Rebecca walked through the woods, looking or animas to hunt until they found some lost carribou grazing near the river.
"Stay completally quiet," Belle instructed, "And walked quietly towards your prey." Rebecca did what she was told and quietly followed her mother and father. The three wolves quietly waited in the bushes, looking at each of the carribou, examaning them to see which was the strongest and which was the weakest. Thomas and Belle crouched low, getting ready to chase the carribou when a strange sound filled the air that made the carribou run.
Thomas stood up and sniffed the air, "Man." he said to his mate, "We gotta leave, quickley!"
Belle picked up Rebecca by the scruff of her neck and ran after Thomas.
"Why are we running?" asked Rebecca.
"There are men in the woods," Thomas answered, looking back, "They hunt animals for food and for their fur to keep warm, and by the sounds of it, they have their hunting dogs with them." Rebecca perked up her ears and heard unfamiliar barking.
"Quick, in here." Thomas said, stopping in front of a small, empty cave. He and Belle, who was still carrying Rebecca, ran into the small cave. Belle put Rebecca down and said quietly, "Stay silent and wait for it to be safe."
Rebecca obeyed and waited, that neither the men or dogs would find them their. After a few hours, Thomas checked to see if it was safe, "You can come out, it's safe."
Belle walked out of the cave with Rebecca right behind her.
"Don't be scared, Rebecca," Thomas said, nuzzling his daughter, "It's safe now."
"Papa, what's so bad about men?"
"They hunt and kill animals, young or old, they still kill them."
"But isn't that what you and mama do?"
"No, we show mercy on the young, we only hunt for the old and weak. It wouldn't be right to kill young ones and their parents." Thomas looked up to the sky and said, "We best be getting back to home, it's getting late."

so what, do you think?

thanks, guys. Don't worry the forbidden love will come up.

Chapter Two: Rebecca meets Demon

After about a week, Rebecca was careful about where to go in the woods because of the hunters.

One day, Rebecca was silently walking in the woods until she saw a toad. She sniffed the toad until it started to hop away. Rebecca chased it for fun, until she realised that she was too deep into the woods. Rebecca decided to go back to the cave until she saw a pup nawing on a broken branch near her. Rebecca walked up to him and said, "Hi." The pup jumped in surprised and said, "Hello, who are you?"
"My name's Rebecca, what's your name?"
"Demon," said the pup, "I'm a husky/malamute mix, what about you?"
"I'm a husky/wolf mix." answered Rebecca. She gave Demon a puzzled look when he started to back away from her.
"You're part wolf?" Demon asked, afraid.
"Yes, why?"
"My family hates wolves," said Demon, "And anything that have to do with them!"
"Why?" ased Rebecca.
"Well, my dad was a great sled dog until this wolf/dog named Balto out-ran him, and my mom and sister are hunters!"
"Does that make you a hunter too?" Rebecca asked, backing away.
"No, I ran away from home because I don't like my family at all."
"Where are you going to go?" asked Rebecca.
"Well, maybe I can live here, in the woods." Demon said, looking around the forest and admiring everything in it.
"What will you do for food?"
"I can just hunt for the old and the weak."
"Hey, that's what my parents do." Rebecca said, happily, "Maybe you can live with us!"
"Are you sure your parents will be okay with that?"
"Yes, they're the greatest parents I've ever had, and they care about everyone."
"That sounds great." Demon said, happily wagging his tail.
"Before we go, you want to wrestle?" Rebecca said, slyly.
"Okay" said Demon, and without warning, he jumped onto Rebecca, knocking her over. Rebecca growled, playfully and started to wrestle him. Demon and Rebecca had fun that day in the woods, they pushed, jumped, and chased eachother all over the woods until they took a break near the river.
"That was alot of fun!" Rebecca panted.
"Yeah, it was." Demon said, drinking the water from the river.
"Demon?"
"Yes?"
"I've been wondering, what's are sled dogs?"
"Sled dogs are dogs that run in races, they pull sleds, run about a hundred miles, and they get to have adventure."
"Did you ever want to be a sled dog?" asked Rebecca.
"Well, I did," Demon said, lowering his ears, "But my dad kept on preshuring me that it took all the fun out of everything, now I just want to be wild and free!" Demon pushed Rebecca playfully. She laughed as she got up, "Being wild and free can be kinda fun!" Then, without even telling him, Rebecca licked Demon on the cheek. He looked at her and smiled until a growling sound came up from behind them and a huge, black and white dog jumped out of the bushes and stood in front of Demon.
"Demon," growled the dog, who was glaring at Rebecca-who backing away in fear-"Get away from that mutt!"
"But dad, we were only having fun!" Demon said, afraid.
"It's true." said, Rebecca, as she hid behind a bush.
"SHUT UP, WOLF/DOG!" the dog barked, and, without so much as a warning, he jumped over to Rebecca, who was too scared to run until her father attacked the dog.
"STEELE!" Thomas shouted at the dog, "LEAVE MY DAUGHTER BE!" Belle ran up and stood in front of Rebecca to protect her.
"TELL YOUR RUNT TO STAY AWAY FROM MY SON!" the dog named Steele retorted. Belle bent low to Rebecca so only she could hear, "Rebecca, were you playing with that pup?"
"We were," Rebecca confessed, "But Demon wasn't hunting or anything, he just wanted to be a wild dog."
"Rebecca," Thomas warned, backing away from Steele, growling, "I never want you to see that pup again."
"Yes, papa." Rebecca promised, bowing her head in shame.
"If I see that mutt with my son again, I'll tear her apart." Steele growled before he picked up Demon and walked away. Beele did the same and she and Thomas walked away from the river.
"Good bye." Demon whispered to Rebecca as his father carried him.
"Good bye." Rebecca whispered back.

How'd you like that chapter?

Thanks, This chapter is going to be really sad, so I hope you don't hate me for writing it so soon.

Chapter Three: The Bear Attack

Rebecca and her mother played together in the cave while Thomas was hunting for carribou.
"When do you think papa will come back?" asked Rebecca.
"I'm sure he'll be back soon," said Belle, "And tonight, I want you to get to sleep early."
"Why?"
"Because, tomorrow, we're going to look for a wolf pack to live with."
"Why?"
"Because, it might not be safe to live here anymore since you met up with that pup the other day."
"You mean, we're never gonna come back here?" Rebecca asked, lowering her ears.
"We'll be back here, soon." Belle said, licking Rebecca on the cheek. And at that moment, Thomas came back, pulling at a dead carribou's leg.
"Anyone hungry?" he asked as soon as he got the dead carribou over to Belle and Rebecca.

That night, Rebecca and her parents slept peacfully in their cave until a toad hopped in and woke up Rebecca.
"I can't play right now," she yawned, "We can play tomorrow."
But the toad hopped onto her head and hopped back onto the ground.
"Okay," Rebecca said, getting up, "But you asked for it." the toad hopped out of the cave, with Rebecca right behind it. Rebecca chased the toad until it hopped right into the river. Rebecca stopped right next to the river and looked around it to find the toad until she heard a low, growling sound coming from behind her. Rebecca turned around and saw a huge, black bear coming towards her. Rebecca was so surprised, she fell into the river. Rebecca held onto the river's edge so she wouldn't drown. She tried to climb back out of the river but the current was too strong. The bear walked closer to her, growling louder. Rebecca screamed for help while trying to get back out of the water. As soon as the bear was closer to her, it raised it's paw, about to swipe at Rebecca until something jumped and bit onto the bear's arm. Rebecca looked closely at the bear's arm and saw her father. Belle ran over to Rebecca picked her up out of the river and set her down on the ground.
"Rebecca," she said, urgently, "Get away from here, and with the first chance you get, run back to the cave." and she ran over to the bear and bit onto it's snout. Rebecca ran away from the river but she didn't run to the cave, she hid behind a bush because she didn't want leave her parents when their fighting a dangerous bear. Rebecca watched in horror as her parents fought the bear. The bear used it's free hand to hit Belle so she would let go of it. Belle landed on the ground so hard, her paw looked like it was broken. Thomas let go of the bear before it could hit him. He ran over to Belle and tried to help her get up, but the bear ran over to them and hit Thomas so hard, he his back hit against a tree. Thomas tried to get up but the bear picked him up by his leg and threw him into the river. Thomas tried to get out of the river, but he didn't have the strength. The bear ran over to the river and used his paw to push Thomas into the water to drown. He tried to fight off the bear the bear was too strong so the current carried him away. Belle got up, ran to the bear, and bit onto the bear's leg. The bear roared in pain and grabbed Belle. It threw her away from it and she landed hard onto the ground. Rebecca ran over to the bear, jumped onto it's head, and bit, hard on it's ear. The bear swiped at her unsuccefully until it hit it's head against the ground so she could get off. Rebecca fell onto her back, got up, and growled at the bear. It swiped at her and she hit a tree. Belle tried to get up but she didn't have the strength, the bear then picked her up by her neck and threw her away from it. Belle landed hard, onto the ground again, and layed there, motionless. The bear growled angrily and walked away. Rebecca got up and walked over to her mother.
"Mom?" she asked, scared. Belle didn't answer. Rebecca smelled her but she couldn't smell any part of life inside her. She looked at her mother tearfully, and howled at the moon, sadly.

Like I said, please don't hate me for writing this chapter :(

I'm so sad that I made that chapter early, but things will be getting better soon.

Chapter Four: Changes

Rebecca woke up from an uneasy sleep the next morning. She looked around and saw her mother's lifeless body next to her. Rebecca silently cried as she got up and left the river, thinking of how she will never see her parents alive again.

Rebecca walked around the forest, feeling lost and lonely, she missed her mother, he father, and her friend Demon. She missed how her mother would nuzzle her lovingly, she missed how her father would play with her while he mother hunted, and she missed how they made her feel safe. But now they're gone, Rebecca thought, choking back tears, And it's all my fault! she layed down and cried at the thought of it, until she heard a noise behind her. Rebecca quickley stood up and turned around to see the bushes rustling. Rebecca backed away from the bush in case something dangerous would jump out, but instead, a fox cub-who was the same age as Rebecca-limped out of the bush. When Rebecca saw the fox cub jump out of the bushes, she and the fox screamed and hid behind a rock while the fox ran into the bushes again. Rebecca got out from behind the rock to see if the fox was long gone but she could see part of it's bushy tail.
"Why are you hiding?" asked Rebecca. The fox poked it's head out from the bush and said, "Because you're a dog, and dogs eat foxes." At the sound of the foxes voice, Rebecca guessed it was a female fox.
"I'm not a dog," said Rebecca, "I'm a wolf/dog."
"That's even worse!" the fox said, scared.
Rebecca slowly walked over to the fox.
"I'm not going to hurt you." she said.
"Like I've never heard that before!" the fox said, getting out of the bush, and glaring at Rebecca, "It's because of your kind that this happened to me."
She showed Rebecca a broken paw, "And now, thanks to your kind, I lost my mother!"
"It's not mine or my family's fault that this happened to you!" Rebecca retorted.
"Your family must've been blood thirsty savages!" the fox said, shrilly.
"Take that back!" Rebecca screamed at the fox.
"Never!" yelled the fox, and without so much as a warning, Rebecca ran at the fox and started to fight her. Rebecca and the fox bit, scratched, yipped, growled, barked, and pushed through the whole fight until Rebecca gave up and ran away.
"You better run, you scaredy cat!" the fox shouted after her. Rebecca ran through the entire forest until she couldn't run anymore. She stopped by a tree and licked the blood off her paw. She was mad at the fox for insulting her parents that way, she was mad at the bear for killing her parents, and she was mad at Steele for forcing Demon to never see her again. She was mad at everything, she was tired of losing everybody she knew and loved, and she was tired of everone trying to hurt her. Rebecca got up and ran, she wanted to leave the forest and never come back, she wanted to escape the horrible life of being a wild dog, she wanted to be with someone who would always be with her to play, love, and protect her. Rebecca ran until she was out of the forest, she looked back at the wonderfull place she once called home, and ran. She ran for miles until she saw a strange place not too far from where she was. The strange place had houses with smoke coming out of their chimneys and it had tons of humans with their dogs outside. Rebecca guessed that the strange place was called a town that her parents told her so much about. Rebecca decided to run to the town to see if she could find a new home. When she got to the town, Rebecca walked around so she could explore. Rebecca looked around and saw many humans with their dogs, she saw a couple of dogs her age outside one of the houses talking. Rebecca decided to go over to them and make new friends.
"Hello," she said, "My name is Rebecca."
"Hi," said a dog the same size as Rebecca with gold fur, "My name is Sabrina, this is Gem," she nodded toward the smallest dog of the group, "That's Maya," she nodded toward the white dog, "And that's Zoey." she nodded toward the black dog."
"Nice to meet you." said the dog named Maya.
"Same here." Rebecca said, smiling, "So what kind of dogs are you?"
"I'm a pomeranian," said the dog named Gem, "Maya is a Hungarian Kuvasz, Zoey is an Schipperke, and Sabrina is a golden retriever, what kind of dog are you?"
"I'm part husky part wolf." said Rebecca.
"Well, it wouldn't be the first time a dog who was part wolf came to town." Zoey said, thoughtfully.
"What do you mean?" asked Rebecca.
"There's this other dog named Balto who's the lead dog on one of the sled teams always come here either watch the race or be in it."
"That's interesting."
"And speaking of Balto," said Maya, "Here he comes with his team now!"
"Rebecca looked around and saw a grey wolf/husky leading a team of dogs racing throught the streets and behind the wolf/husky's team was none other than Demon's father, Steele. If Demon's father is here to race," thought Rebecca, Then that must mean Demon's here too." Rebecca looked around and saw a familiar face a few yards away from her watching the race. Rebecca snuck over to Demon and said, "Hello!"
Demon jumped and turned around growling but stopped when he saw it was Rebecca. "Hi, Rebecca," he said, wagging his tail, happily, "Long time no see!"
"Rebecca smiled at him and watched the race again to see the wolf/husky winning the race.
"Is that dog Balto?" Rebecca asked Demon.
"Yep," said Demon, his smile turning into a frown, "My pop's not gonna be happy if Balto wins again."
"Do you like Balto?"
"I kinda think he's a nice guy, but my dad's a sore loser and a glory hound, he'd do anything to win a race again and get all the attention again."
"He is a glory hound!"
Rebecca and Demon stared at eachother and laughed until they heard a low growling voice. Rebcca and Demon looked around and saw a puppy growling at them.
"Demon," she growled, menacingly, "What are you doing with a half-breed?"
"I don't see how that's bad!" Demon said, glaring at the puppy.
"Mom and dad aren't gonna be happy when I tell them." the puppy said, darkly.
"You always gotta suck up to mom and dad don't you, Libbie?"
"You're just jealous because they like me better since you never follow their orders." the puppy named Libbie smiled evily and walked away.
"Sorry," Demon said, facing Rebecca, "Excuse my sister, she can be a little evil, sometimes."
"A little?"
Demon and Rebecca laughed again, "I better get back with my mom or I'll definetally get in trouble, bye." and with that, Demon took off. Rebecca stayed where she was, even though she was surrounded by people, she still felt a little lonely until a white wolf/husky appeared next to her, he seemed a bit familiar.
"Do I know you?" asked the wolf/husky
"I don't know," said Rebecca, "Do I know you?"
"Maybe," said the wolf/husky, "What's your name?"
"My name is Rebecca."
"My name is Harvie, where are your parents?"
Rebecca lowered her head and started to cry.
"What's wron with you?" asked the wolf/husky.
"I should've known better!" Rebecca said, tearfully, "It was a grizzly bear! It's my fault it happened."
"What happened?" asked the wolf/husky.
"I left our cave last night when my parents were sleeping, but then I got attacked by a bear. My parents came and attacked it. My dad drowned amd the bear kept throwing my mother until she hit the ground near the river hard, I tried to get her to wake up but she didn't move." Rebecca started to cry again. The wolf/husky sat there, watching her cry.
"What were the names of your parents?"
"My mother's name was Belle and my father's name was Thomas." Rebecca looked at the wolf/husky again and saw that he had tears in his eyes.
"Come with me, my little sister."

so, what do you think?

Okay then, I'll just start the next chapter then

Chapter Five: Life in the Town

"'Little sister?'" Rebecca asked, following Harvie through the town.
"Well, actually, you're my half sister." answered Harvie, "Before you were born, our mom was part of a wolf pack."
"But I thought she wasn't a wolf." Rebecca said, confused.
"She wasn't, " said Harvie, "Her friend, Aleu-who was also half wolf-was the pack leader. Our mother met up with her and met a wolf named Jason. They fell in love with eachother and had me. But our mother and I got separated from the pack because of a few hunter, Mother thought that my father was dead. When I was almost of age, mother met your father while she and I were hiding in a cave from a snow storm. He was badly hurt, and if it wasn't for our mother, he would've died and you wouldn't be here. Soon, she fell in him and had you."
"Why didn't you visit?"
"Well, before you were born, I finally came of age and was able to go off on my own. I found this town, and I wanted to live here since it was so interesting. But your father didn't approve of me wanting to live in a town that had hunters. We had an argument and I left, I dodn't want to go back because I thought that your father was still ashamed of me."
"Why did he hate humans so much?"
"They were the reason he almost died, and they killed off his family when he was a pup so he had to take care of himself."
"Not all humas are bad, are they?" Rebecca asked, looking nervously at all the human watching the race.
"Not all of them," Harvie answered, looking at the houses they were walking passed, "Actually, as soon as I came here, I met a human family that wanted to take care of me."
He stopped in front of a house, "Here we are."
Rebecca stopped next to Harvie and looked at the house, "This is where you live?"
"Yes," Harvie said, walking passed it, and approaching a small shed, "And this is where I sometimes sleep."
"You sleep in a shed?" Rebecca asked, following Harvie to the shed.
"Only when I want to." Harvie said, pushing the shed's door open and walking inside, "Come on in." Rebecca followed Harvie into the shed and looked around, it had sheets on the floor, there was room to run around in it, and there were two objects next to the sheets, one of the objects was filled with water.
"What are these?" Rebecca asked, smelling the objects.
"Those are food bowls, my humans sometimes put food in them when Emily and I don't hunt."
"Who's Emily?"
"Oh yes, I forgot to mention, my humans also have a pet cat. She's one of the reasons how I ended up getting humans."
"You're friends with a cat?" Rebecca asked, looking around the shed looking for it, "Where is she?"
"She's watching the race with the family, it might be over by now so they should be coming home soon."
"Is she your only friend?" asked Rebecca.
"You're just full of questions aren't you?" Harvie laughed, smiling at her, "No, I'm also friends with a couple of dogs in this town, which reminds me, I saw you with Steele's son, Demon. You do know Demon's mother and sister are hunters, right?"
"I know, but he isn't a hunter either," said Rebecca, "He just wants to be a wild dog."
"Well, be careful," warned Harvie, "Steele's got a nasty temper and can get very violent. Is Demon your only friend here?"
"No, I made friends with a couple of other puppies and they seem really nice, she looked at the wide open door, "Is it okay if I looked for them?"
"Alright," Harvie said, nodding his head, "But be careful, there are plenty of strays out there just waiting to attack small dogs."
"Don't worry, I'll be careful." Rebecca said, running out the door. She looked around and saw a group of puppies playing. She ran over to them and asked, "Can I play with you?"
"Sure." one of the puppies said, smiling and panting, but stopped when she saw the look of one of the other puppies' faces.
"Why would we want to play with you?"
"I was just wondering." Rebecca said, lowering her ears.
"I was just wondering!" mimicked one of the other puppies in shrill voice. The other puppies laughed as the puppy made fun of Rebecca.
"Get back to where you belong, mutt!" said the other puppy, "Purebreds like us don't play with half breeds like you."
It was true that they were purebreds, the puppy offering Rebecca to play with them was a Samoyed, the puppy being rude to Rebecca was a white poodle, the puppy making fun of Rebecca was a Husky,, and the other puppies were a Bernese Mountain dog, a Shiba Inu, and a black poodle.
"Leave her alone!" Rebecca looked around and saw Demon and three puppies walking towards her.
"Hi, Demon." the white poodle said, breathlessly, Rebecca guessed that the white poodle had a crush on Demon.
"Oh shut up!" Demon said, rolling his eyes like as if he faces her everyday.
"Why do you guys always make fun of puppies with wolf heritage?" asked one of Demon's friends.
"What's it to ya?" retorted the Shiba Inu.
"You mess with my friend, you mess with me." said Demon.
"And me." added Demon's friends.
"You better watch your back, mutt." the black poodle said as he, and his friends walked away.
"You ought to be careful 'round those pups," said one of Demon's friends, "They're trouble."
"Rebecca, these are my friends, Max, Mooch, and Sparky." said Demon.
Max was a Border Collie, Mooch was a Sheepdog, and Sparky German Shepherd.
"Great to meet you." Rebecca said, smiling.
"Great to meet you too." said Max.
"Rebecca's new here in town." said Demon.
"We'd be happy to show you 'round." said Sparky.
"That's really nice of you," said Rebecca, "But my older brother's going to do that sometime tomorrow, and I kinda want to spend some time with him, especially since I'm gonna be with him for the rest of my life."
Why's that?" asked Mooch.
"I don't really want to talk about it." said Rebecca, "I'm meeting my friends, Zoey, Sabrina, Gem, and Maya tomorrow, if you want, you join us." she added, wanting to change the subject.
"That sounds great." said Sparky
"Yeah, that sounds good since Sparky likes Zoey." said Max.
"That's not true!" said Sparky.
"Yeah, sure." Max said, disbelievingly.
"So tomorrow then?" Rebecca asked, as Max and Sparky continued to fight.
"We'll be there." said Demon.
"I better get back to Harvie's home or he'll worry." Rebecca said, walking towards Harvie's shed.

I guess I'll just post the new chapter then

Chapter Six: Meeting Harvie's Family

When Rebecca was at Harvie's shed, she opened the door and saw that Harvie wasn't in it.
"I wonder where he went." thought Rebecca.
"Rebecca, over here."
Rebecca loked around and saw that Harvie was inside the house. His face was shown through the window.
"Hold on," he said, "I'll get my humans to open the door." He walked away from the window and Rebecca heard him bark.
"What's wrong, Harvie?" she heard a girl ask, she then heard scratching on the door and it opened. Harvie jumped outside barking and running to Rebecca, "Are you trying to lead us to something?" Rebecca heard a boy ask. Two humans came out of the house, one was a human girl the other was a human boy. They looked around until they saw Rebecca, as soon as they saw her, they smiled and yelled, "Mom, dad, Harvie found a puppy!"
A man, woman, and cat ran outside and looked at Rebecca.
"Where did it come from?" the woman asked, surprised.
Harvie nudged Rebecca and said, walking towards the humans, "Go over to them."
Rebecca nervously walked towards the humans behind Harvie and asked, "What if they don't like me?"
"Are you kidding? They like Emily, so why wouldn't they like you?"
"I heard that." said Emily the cat.
When Rebecca was next to the humans, the girl put out her hand to Rebecca, she looked at from the hand to Harvie, confused.
"Smell her hand and like it."
Rebecca didn't know why she had to do that but she sniffed the girl's hand anyway, then she started to lick the girl's paw.
"Well, the pup seems friendly enough." said the man.
"Can we keep it?" asked the boy.
"Harvie seems to trust her." said the woman while she rubbed her hand on Rebecca's head and back.
"I don't understand," said Rebecca, "Does this mean I'm in the family?"
"The man decides that." Harvie said, nodding towards the man, who looked like he was thinking.
"Well," said the man, "If Harvie thinks the pup is alright, then we can keep it." The kids cheered and hugged Harvie.
"What should we it?" asked the girl.
"Before we name the pup," said the man, "we have to see if it's a girl or a boy."
"It's a girl." said the woman.
"How do you know?"
"A woman always knows."
"Can we name her Gabrielle?" asked the girl.
"Gabrielle sounds like a wonderful name." the woman said, smiling.
"Come on, Gabrielle," the kids said, running inside the house, followed by their parents.
Rebecca sat there, still confused about what happened, "Why are they calling me 'Gabrielle'?"
"Because that's your new name." said Emily, "You're going to have to get used to being called that if you want to be in the family."
"You mean I have to give up my old name?"
"No, only the humans are going to call you by your new name, the animals are going to call you by your old name."
"What was your old name?"
"Mine was always Emily, these humans had me since I was born."
"What about you, Harvie?"
"My old name was Zachary, but now I have everyone call me Harvie."
"Why?"
"Because, that name reminds me of how I was banished from the family, it reminded me of how I would never be able to see them again when they were alive, and how I would never have met you."
"Well, they're gone now," Rebecca said, lowering her head, "And it's my fault."
"Emily, could you give us some alone time for a moment?" Harvie asked Emily in whispered tone.
"Yes, of course." Emily said, walking into the house.
"Rebecca," Harvie said, sitting next to her, "It's not your fault that they're gone."
"Yes it is," cried Rebecca, "I left the cave when I wasn't supposed to, I got them attacked by a bear, our father drowned and our mother died because the bear kept attacking her. It's my fault!"
Harvie nuzzled the crying pup and said, "That doesn't mean that you killed them, you're not the one who killed our mother or our father and if that's the case, then it's not your fault."
Rebecca licked Harvie on the cheeck and said, "Thanks for trying to cheer me up."
Harvie smiled at Rebecca, "Let's go inside," he said, "It's starting to get a bit cold." He walked over to the door, "Are you coming?" he asked.
Rebecca stayed where she was, feeling nervous about going inside the house. She walked over to the door and went inside, along with Harvie. Rebecca sat on the floor and looked around, there were objects there were objects big and small that she's never even seen before there was even a small area with a fire going on. Rebecca walked around the house sniffing everything in sight. When she was done smelling everything, she layed down by the fire, feeling tired. This is going to take some getting used to she thought
