Yes, they're doing it. I saw the trailer for it on the Brother Bear 2 DVD. Judging by the trailer, they're retelling the whole story. For example, there was a question in the trailer that said "What if the slipper didn't fit?" and stuff like that.

They're not retelling the story; well, they are, but with a different plotline.

Here's the plot from IMBD:

The evil stepmother conjures up a spell that reverses all of which the fairy godmother did. Everything that she had made (the dress, the horses and the carriage) which were the reasons why and how Cinderella went to "The Ball". So when all the magic is gone will there be a happily ever after all? What will Cinderella do? Find out in Cinderella III.

Sounds kinda cheesy.

Yeah it sounds craptastic, but what I dont get is how the evil stepmom can use magic in the first place? Very blahzay. It takes "what if" to an entirely different level. And a very dumb one at that. "What if the slipper didn't fit?" What kind of a retard questions that about Cinderella? Of COURSE the slipper would fit, it was HERS!

True, true, but let's not forget that the original trailer for Cinderella III is making this sound stupid. I think I heard the TLM SE (Little Mermaid Special Edition) DVD has the newer, updated trailer (I saw screens of it, and it looks better than the old ones from BB2 and those other recent releases) that actually explains the story of Cindy 3.

And yes, the basic catchline of "What if?" is actually kind of corny, but it does seem to make you think . . . What if things turned out "unhappily" for little Cindy? In other words, this DTV gonna go through the whole "love conquers all obstacles" plot in my opinion. I mean, it makes sense, right? No offense, but it's a different concept than what I thought a Cindy 3 would be. (of course, because after the terrible thing known as "Cinderella 2", I don't think anyone (other than the Disney peoples) wants another sequel to destroy the magical tale of Cinderelly.)

(So, I'm guessing this is just another one of those "midquels", right? Because if Cinderella 2 was after the wedding and happily ever after crap, and the original was the beginning . . . wouldn't that make this a midquel?)

Well, we have to think about this for one thing: At least it's not about Cindy and Prince Charming's kid(s) . . .

That may very well be. And I GUESS it would be good that they explained why her father died (or even why he married the evil step mom anyway XD) But even so, I feel that I need to stick up for the fairy tales that have lasted fr centuries, cuz some things don't need to change, know what I mean? But yes, if it were about their KIDS (did the prince even have a name???) I would have to put a gun barrel in my mouth XD

Well, when you think about how "violent" the original tale of Cinderella was, it makes the Disney version pretty tame and cutesy. (I think in the original one, the stepsisters actually cut off parts of their feet to try and fit into the slipper. EW.)

But yeah, it would be nice to hear how Cindy's dad hooked up with Lady Tremaine (AKA Evil Stepmom - yes, that is her real name; I looked it up!), and how she really took the death of her "new" hubby.

And just thinking about Cindy and Charming's kids . . . *shutters* That's scary. It would be like TLM2 almost (mainly the whole "I talk to mice and fairy godpeoples" and stuff. Gah, I can't take that really.). And the prince was only known as "Prince Charming", I do believe . . . *has the SE DVD* I'll watch it tonight and confirm that for you, okay?

Works for me. But just to spite Disney I won't watch Cinderella 3, cuz I'm still one to stay faithful to the true story! (tho i must say "carving" one's feet to fit in a shoe, well, thats not very logical O_o Who are the people who think up this stuff?! XD)

Ya the new movie would take all the fun stuff we thought of kids to the extreame.I mean come on!They already told the story and it should be done!Fairytales are only one a do thing.

Anywho, my opinion about Cinderella III that, yes, it sounds dumb, corny, blahblahblah. . .
But I'll still watch it.
Because I want to make fun of the cornyness of it. And the cheesyness.
I'm talking in the food-sense!
