Of course, I LOVE the Outsiders. I want to know what you all think about this marvelous 1967 classic by S.E. Hinton.

Favorite Chracter and why?:
Age when first read?:
Favorite moment in story?:
Favorite actor in the movie (if seen)?:
Movie or book?:
Too violent for young kids?:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Favorite Chracter and why?: Johnny Cade because I always seemed to connect with him on some level.
Age when first read?: I think 6, 7?
Favorite moment in story?: In the beginning when Ponyboy introduces all the chracters and when they go in the fire to save the kids.
Favorite actor in the movie (if seen)?: oh god, Ralph Macchio, he was so cute as Johnny!
Movie or book?: book.
Too violent for young kids?: not if they understand that they shouldn;t go around stabbing people with blades.

So, shall we?

That book was great! I had to read it for English class in 8th grade, and I saw the movie twice!

Favorite Chracter and why?: I'd say Pony Boy, I'm not too sure why, maybe it's because he's the main character...
Age when first read?: 13
Favorite moment in story?: When Pony Boy and the others (I can't think of their names right now...) save the kids in the burning church. I didn't like, however, when one of them breaks their back.
Favorite actor in the movie (if seen)?: I saw the movie, but the only actor who's name I remember is Tom Cruise. (He had a minor part in that movie. He was a teen when it was made.)
Movie or book?: The book. All movies made from books leave out parts of the story mentioned in the book.
Too violent for young kids?: Only when one of tha characters gets shot in the end. (I still can't think of the names except Pony Boy and Soda Pop.)

hehe...I'm really bored so i'm gonna name all the charcters for any future refrences.
Ponyboy (the narrator)
Johnny (the guy who burned his back)
Dallas (the one who get shot.)
Sodapop ("the doll")
Darry (the one with the "ice eyes")
Two-Bit (the funny wise-cracking one)
Steve (Tom Cruise's chracter and Soda's best friend.)

And for the book/movie, in 2005 F.F.C. relased a complete novel with over 20 minutes of deleted sences including the trail, Ponyboy getting jumped in the beginning, and Soda exploding at the table near the end.

So, any other question I could proably answer and I have no life other than to bore you with useless information you proably don't care about!

Haha, I just realized how many typos I made in just one sentence in my previous post. Fixed now, of course.

Anyway, I vaguely remember that book now. I'll need to find it again, whee.
