I've bought few racing games that I actually enjoyed playing.

What they should start doing in racing games
Eliminate the stupid thug rapper wannabe characters that talk like I just hit them in the side of the face with a shovel.
Eliminate whatever that rap/hip-hop garbage sound track they have.
Be able to buy cars and parts from a junkyard
Have dynamic changing dealer ships (Gran Turismo 4)
You get your respect from racing, not from plastering ugly decals and neon lights on your car.
Decent traffic patterns
Realistic physics (like when you take a turn at 90mph in your SUV it actually flips over)

That's about it. The only racing games I enjoyed are all the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series games and all the Gran Turismo games. Every other racing game I've played, I got bored WAY to fast since it was the same thing race after race after race...

What would you like to see out of racing games?

Every thing you just said is true with me as well, I hate the thought of putting ugly decals on your cars to advance in the game, its just horrible. And for the soundtracks, horrible as well.

For what I would like to see in a Racing Game:
Get rid of the rap, its not good racing music. (I usually just turn the music off and play my own)
Realistic physics, and traffic.
Also another thing, get rid of the half naked girls through out the game, when I play a game about cars, I want to look at a car, not a half naked girl.
I also like the whole junkyard thing, and interchangible parts, not just "speed up level 3"
Oh yeah and also, more older generation cars, like a Datsun 240Z, older genration RX-7s, really just more cars from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I am getting sick of driving new generation Honda Civics.

So yeah I agree with everything you said alpine, and I also only enjoyed playing Tokyo Xtreme Racer, and grand tourismo so far.

Im the opposite..I want more games like burnout...god i love those games..and more simulation Moto GP type games.

I'm half and half I hate most of the music (all of the rap) but everything else is good. I love the burnout games I have Bournout Revenge for 360 which I love and that's mainly it

I like the music all except rap mainly because YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING. To me in in rap all there saying Blah Blah Blah I'm gonna shoot a guy in the knee. I mean hosnestly. (no offense to everyone who likes rap it's just my opinion)

For me..no melody=not music.

same here. I like some of the old 80's Rock.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the burn out series. I like those games as well, but what I'm talking about (should've specified) is the "simulators." Like Gran Turismo and the older Need For Speed series (1-6 I think.)
