Has anybody read this book? It is awesome! Some parts are good, others are annoying, which is why it is good.
Here is the summary on the back of the Yearling Edition:

A story filled with danger and excitement, Johnny Tremain tells of turbulent, passionate times in Boston just before the Revolutionary War. Johnny, a young apprentice silversmith, is caught up in the dramatic involvement with James Otis, John Hancock, and John and Samuel Adams. Johnny is swept along by the powerful currents that will lead to the Boston Tea Party and the Battle of Lexington-and finally to an important discovert in Johnny's own life.

Ok, not to offend you, but I read that book for 7th Grade history class over the summer before that year, (I'm in 10th grade now), and everyone in my class including me thought it was probably the most boring book I ever read. It was described by a friend of mine as "Good for people who have insomnia." Sorry if I offended you, but that's the honest truth. I thought it was boring.

I read it for something like 5th or 6th grade, and I thought it was pretty boring, but then again I'm starting to reread books that I thought were boring back then and enjoying them...so I don't really know...

Yes, I have. I thought it was a very good book (I read it last school year) and have since reread parts. I have been wanting to see the 1950's film, but I think I doubt it will be very good.
