Okay, GK told me about these little "trailers" for...you guessed it: LITTLE MERMAID III.
Here are two trailers, one consisting of an actual clip from the movie, the other taking a scene from the original movie to make it look good (notice how close the latters' music is SO CLOSE to Pirates of the Carribean).

I thought Disney couldn't get any lower than making a Fox and the Hound 2, but no, they made yet another sequel to a movie, which it's first sequel was already ATROCIOUS. But no this movie isn't even a sequel. IT'S A MIDQUEL. Disney? WHAT'S WITH ALL OF THIS MIDQUEL CRAP?
I don't even know what this movie is about, but it's making me angry just by looking at it. (WHAT IS THIS? Sabastian is singing SOMEONE ELSE'S SONG?! Some music composer! He's stealing other peoples' work!)
The animaton style isn't even the same, but OH WAIT! It's for kids...KIDS DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT. Yeah, that's right Disney, cuz your OLD fans who are now grown up don't appreciate your work anymore right? Well, I WONDER WHY!
Guess what Disney, we who were kids at one time LOVED your old movies. And once a child loves Disney classics, they CAN'T change their mind about that, it's impossible! It's breaking our hearts and utterly IRRITATES US that you're taking everything that's "classic" about Disney away with your money-grubbing corporate CRAP!
It was already sickening when you continued Cinderella, a FAIRYTALE told over HUNDREDS of generations! But no, you had to continue Little Mermaid AGAIN! At least the SECOND movie was a SEQUEL! But no, THIS movie is going back in time AGAIN! Just like what you did with Fox and the Hound 2! Lion King 11/2 and Bambi 2 were fine because they respected the old movies.
This? No, you're basically saying that the first movie "needed something" It didn't need anything you selfish pricks!! That movie kicked butt and didn't need a sequel OR a midquel, but you made it because making hundreds of thousands of dollars from people still buying your old movies and going to Disneyworld/Land and buying crap from Disney Stores WASN'T ENOUGH FOR YOU!
How do you expect to even EXIST in the future when everything you've STOOD FOR is being annialated by your crappy sequels! You wonder why people aren't buying your stuff and you wonder why you're losing profits: It's because you haven't thought up something ORIGINAL in YEARS! YEARS!!
What happened to the good ol' days when you picked a popular book (either for adults OR children [hence making movies enjoyable FOR THE WHOLE FREKAING FAMILY]) and turned THAT into a movie! Like Bambi? Or 101 Dalmations! Remember that? Remember how sucessful that was? GO BACK TO THAT! Im sure you'd make TONS of money! And make even more FAMILES (kids AND adults) cry with joy!
Look in some history books, find a historical being, and make a movie about that! Like MULAN! Remember how sucessful THAT was?! Make a movie about Marco Polo! Actually CONTINUE movies, like what happened BEFORE Mufasa became king! Or AFTER Todd and Copper saved each others' lives! SOMETHING! I don't care! Just make it creative like you're SUPPOSED to do and STOP MAKING MIDQUELS! Walt would cry his eyes out if he could see how low you guys have sunk when it comes to movie makng!!

Quote: At least a midquel of The Lion King would be kinda interesting. Like about Mufasa and Scar when they where yong or somthing. I also heard that they are making a new movie of dumbo!
Well a movie about Musfasa and Scar would be a prequel XD But that would be interesting. Prequels are more interesting than Midquels. And as for the new "Dumbo" they shouldn't touch that one. No matter how boring it was.

Another midquel! Can't they ever leave the old movies alone? Next thing you'll know, they'll make a Snow White 2
If they make a sequel to Snow White, Walt will have a screaming fit.

Oh goodie.
They're out to butcher the classic movies; and no, I'm not even going to bother with watching the Little Mermaid III, because I can't stand animation such as that.

Well, we've known for the longest that the Disney Company was only making these "crap-tactular" sequels/midquels only for the money ascept.
It's kinda like their recent boom on the "Disney Princess" line of stuff - which I could go off and rant about for a long while, but I'll make a thread for that later.
Disney knows what will sell to the majority of young kids and their families - familiar characters in familiar situations with the (unnecessary) song-and-dance numbers every five minutes and poorly written humor. And lots of CHEESE. (There's so much cheese in these DTVs you could shake a stick at it.) Action, romance, and cheese.
It's stuff like this that destroys good classic films, people.
Now as for TLM III, I'll give it a try. I mean, I remember when I heard about TLM II and I gave that a try. It was okay, but most of the new characters annoyed me majorly (except for Melody - her character was a good mix of both father and mother). The animation was okay . . . not original TLM but meh, what can you do for a cheap DTV sequel?
But still, the idea of TLM III being a prequel is ultimate stupidness. God, if you want to make a decently good continuation to a classic, at least do your research!
This makes me sad that the best ideas nowadays for a good movie is to make a sequel/midquel/spin-off/etc. For shame . . .

Well, seeing it's the last film produced by Disney Toon Studios before its closure (the studio who did Brother bear 2 and Bambi 2), it may be good.
EDIT : Wrong, in fact Cinderella 3 is the last film from this studio, not this one. I don't know which studio exactly is making this film.
As for the whole DTV sequels matter, I've never had any problems with that. I think the biggest mistake they've done with them, was to call them "XXX 2" or "YYYYY 3". They should have just gave subtitles, which would then mean they are added adventures, extras, and not really sequels. Because a sequel, in everyone's mind, should be at the same level as the original.
For example, I think the Balto sequels would have been much better considered if they would have been called "Balto : Wolf quest" and "Balto : Wings of change".
But of course, if they did that, the sales wouldn't have been so good. But only in short terms.
