Hey, everyone!! Listen, I've been searching for ways to improve my writing...not just for fics, but for other novels as well. So I'd like to hear your say in this, and what types of stories seem to be the most popular. Please answer the following:
1.) What types of characters can you most relate to? (i.e. animals, girls, boys, adults, etc.)
2.) What's your favorite point-of-view? (i.e. first-person, third-person, third-person omniscient, innocent eye, objective, etc.)
3.) What combinations of genres do you enjoy? (i.e. Horror with Romance, Action with Adventure, etc.)
4.) Do you enjoy stories in a series or just one big book?
5.) What types of conflicts do you enjoy the most? (i.e. Person-vs-Person, Person-vs-Self, Person-vs-Nature, Person-vs-Society, etc.)
6.) Do you like it when an author uses big, decriptive, words, or would you prefer the simple vocabulary?
7.) How do you like your characters? (i.e. funny, serious, apathetic, sarcastic, etc.)
8.) Who would you consider a model character? (Can be anyone from anywhere, fiction or not, but please tell why.)
9.) What makes a story good to you THE MOST? (i.e. Good characters, good plot, good vocabulary, etc.)
10.) If you enjoy books in a series, do you like it when one book is a different genre then the last, but it still retains its basic concepts?
Thanks. I look forward to your answers.

1.) What types of characters can you most relate to? (i.e. animals, girls, boys, adults, etc.)
Mostly animals, but I do relate to humans too. I dont normally relate to adults, or little kids, but teens is a plus. Although if a good writer catches me, sometimes their adult charries relate to me.
2.) What's your favorite point-of-view? (i.e. first-person, third-person, third-person omniscient, innocent eye, objective, etc.)
Well, I unno. Probably first-person or third-person. ^^
3.) What combinations of genres do you enjoy? (i.e. Horror with Romance, Action with Adventure, etc.)
Well, actually I really like them all. There are alot of books I dont like, but it is probably a mix of Action, Adventure, Romance, & Horror. XD!!! Because we have to go through it all. Also, mystery suckered into it is good.
4.) Do you enjoy stories in a series or just one big book?
Well, I am writing mine own in a series, but I really perfer just one big book. Why? Because its easier. And you dont have to wait for more!!!
5.) What types of conflicts do you enjoy the most? (i.e. Person-vs-Person, Person-vs-Self, Person-vs-Nature, Person-vs-Society, etc.)
I enjoy sorts of conflics like Person-vs-self... and I really enjoy Parent-vs-Teen! Why? Because I am in a war like that myself, and enjoy relating to the charries (well, the teen at least). I also like Animal-vs-Man. Because, sometimes it is interesting. Man-kind is so evil, and its interesting to read how an animal struggles to get past them. I also like animal-vs-animal. ^^;; Because animals of the same species can be most deadly to one another.
6.) Do you like it when an author uses big, decriptive, words, or would you prefer the simple vocabulary?
I love big, descriptive words!!! Why? Because then I can add them to my vocabulary! Actually, some of the most interesting words can be very simple! But, still...
7.) How do you like your characters? (i.e. funny, serious, apathetic, sarcastic, etc.)
I like characters to vary from each book read. Why? Because I like to have contrast. I dont want all charries to be the same. But I think I like the crazy insane charries best. ^^;; Only because they are most easy to relate to myself.
8.) Who would you consider a model character? (Can be anyone from anywhere, fiction or not, but please tell why.)
I really cant pick one. Because, it doesnt mater. But, if I were to pick one... it would be... Well, I dont know. OH! The two main charries from "The Pigman"... Dang, what is their names?? John... and... I cant remember the girls name. But they are model charries because how they are portrayed in the book. I really cant explain. Maybe the way they act? "The Pigman" is for young adults, written just as a story for us should be told. It shows life for young people perfectly! You have to read the book to understand.
9.) What makes a story good to you THE MOST? (i.e. Good characters, good plot, good vocabulary, etc.)
Well, its just about all of it. I mean, I stick to books relating mostly to animals, or wolves & dogs. I guess that is what draws me. The animal interaction. I think good charries is most imporant though.
10.) If you enjoy books in a series, do you like it when one book is a different genre then the last, but it still retains its basic concepts?
Yes, that is fine with me. Its actually quite interesting to read something like that. But I dont do it often.

1.) What types of characters can you most relate to? (i.e. animals, girls, boys, adults, etc.) I would say that I can relate to animals the most, a different mood or characteristic from several makes up who I am.
2.) What's your favorite point-of-view? (i.e. first-person, third-person, third-person omniscient, innocent eye, objective, etc.)
Oh, tough one... I'd have to say that although I write the most in third person, it is first person that really grabs me. Esspecially because I can home in on thoughts and emotions easier.
3.) What combinations of genres do you enjoy? (i.e. Horror with Romance, Action with Adventure, etc.)
Easy. Romance and Action. (Action meaning that, simply, there's nearly always something important happening.)
4.) Do you enjoy stories in a series or just one big book?
That really depends on the author's style and the author. I've read some awesome 'one-shots' while many series I've found are worthy of praise. Thus, I'm undecided.
5.) What types of conflicts do you enjoy the most? (i.e. Person-vs-Person, Person-vs-Self, Person-vs-Nature, Person-vs-Society, etc.) Person vs Person would have to be my favorite because it brings so much more to the table, so to speak. By that I mean I don't have to focus evenly on each character, and I don't even have to name one if he/she is that unimportant.
6.) Do you like it when an author uses big, decriptive, words, or would you prefer the simple vocabulary?
One name: BaltoLuver63. His work in description and thought depth simply blows me away. If you ever get the chance, check out his fic Newfound Emotion! You're in for one heck of a ride, and it's not even done yet!
7.) How do you like your characters? (i.e. funny, serious, apathetic, sarcastic, etc.)
Ah, the characters... I can't really put one adjective to all of them because I enjoy well-rounded characters. I want to see them euphoric, despairing, and everywhere in between.
8.) Who would you consider a model character? (Can be anyone from anywhere, fiction or not, but please tell why.)
Ouch, another tough choice.
Well, out of all the pieces I've read, I'd have to say Balto. The reason being that if one were to combine the traits, characteristics, feelings, and thoughts of all the Balto's I've read about, the result would be the living example of the human spirit. The anguish, the joy, the anger, the regret... everything.
9.) What makes a story good to you THE MOST? (i.e. Good characters, good plot, good vocabulary, etc.)
I'm sorry, but there is no one choice that seems right in my mind. Every aspect of a story should combine seamlessly with the rest, and paint a picture with words for the reader.
10.) If you enjoy books in a series, do you like it when one book is a different genre then the last, but it still retains its basic concepts?
Yes, definately. Though I may enjoy a certain genre once or twice in a series, I would much prefer to see a few different themes intersperced among the stories in a series.
Write on!
