Well, according to Wolf Quest Balto's father was a husky while his mother was a wolf. But some people don't even go with that story dispite what the movie says (cuz they stay true to the first movie) and they switch the roles for fan purposes.

I also beleive his Dad was a husky. Steele even said the line~
"I've got a message for your Mother" and he starts to bully-howl.
Alue even says in Wolf Quest, "Oh great, my Grandmother was a wild animal!"
So, that's why I think it's definetely his Dad that's husky

They never show his father. Nobody knows what he looks like or what his name is or what happened to him. None of it was ever mentioned. But they didn't say that it was unknown.

I agree Cat ^^
Perhaps if Universal ever make a Balto 4, it would be awesome if you could meet his father

I suppose the brown on Balto is part of his dad, since his mother is all white.

Balto's father was a husky, and we know that.
Balto wasn't seeking for the wild life, but he lived in Nome with the dogs. So here is more a husky than a wolf

Yep - the real Balto was indeed a purebred husky.

Yeah, so to sum it up
- cartoon Balto = half wolf
- real Balto = purebred husky.
