Post subject: Kodi's cold feelings towards Balto Posted: Sat Sep 16, 2006 12:29 pm |

Okay, I watched Balto III for the first time on Thursday and I couldn't help but feel a certain dislike for Kodi. All he cared about was the mail run and his dream of becoming lead dog, his father was not part of this.
EXAMPLE:
When Balto says that another plane might come and they might not be so lucky, Kodi looks angrily at him and says 'You're just wrong!' and runs off! Then when he looks at Balto after talking to Dusty, he gaves him a seriously evil look because he says to Dusty 'I'm glad we still got our jobs' and looks at Balto and '... And it's going to stay that way!' the two then run off! I'd hate to say it but Aleu gives more respect for Balto then Kodi does, Kodi is just full of himself.

Kodi is a lovely character to watch but I wish he'd respect his father more. Or maybe it had something to do with Aleu, even if Dingo or Saba replaced Kodi they'd feel the same way. Aleu was always the apple of Balto's eye and maybe the other pups did not like that even though they didn't show it. The only other pup to actually get some other attention is Saba (and it was her because her head was still there when Dingo was picked up) who asked him if he was getting a human too and he winked and ruffled her head, saying they want cute little puppies like her.

I agree completely with SimbasGuard. Kodi didn't hate his father. He was a confused adolescent, trying to reckon his loyalties to Kirby's team, and the need to prove himself there, against his love and respect for his father. That often causes conflict. And makes for a good story.

Kodi showed alot more respect than Aleu. You don't hear Kodi yelling; "I hate you!" and run away And plus, he loves his father. Aleu is just mean to Balto.
He was just mad because he thought of the plane as a emeny, and his dad wanted to go save the "emeny" and plus, at the end Kodi helped Balto unlike Aleu who just goes off living far away, never going to be able to see her parents or family again, and doesn't even care.

I agree 100% with SimbasGuard and Balto WolfDog
Alue is just a thick-headed brat. She doesn't show any respect to her father until the very end!
I've never seen Wings of Change, but I have seen this clip:
Kodi~ "Hi Dad, hi Mom"
Balto~ "Looking good out there, son"
Kodi~ "You think so? I-I've been practicing at the beach and I kind of, well, I'm hoping to get a chance at Lead Dog...like you Dad"
That shows me how much respect Kodi has for Balto

"And if She did not care about leaving Her Family Why would She thell Balto "O.K. So I'll alwas be Your Baby" , And "tell Mom I finally found My Home." She also nusseld Balto before She left."
Come on, she's a year old and leaving to some wolves that she doesn't really even know. It's like she WANTS to leave. If she did care about leaving, then she wouldn't of just said that. And plus, she wouldn't be so happy but then again, it's the stupidest movie...
Kodi is more respectful, isn't as bratty as Aleu-gag- and end of story.
