Harry Potter Idea......Stolen??

Has anyone ever wondered if J.K. Rowling perhaps took someone else's idea of Harry Potter and used it for herself? Perhaps someone may be suffering because of what she did.

(I don't want to start a fight...I'm just doing a "What if" sort of thing.)

Ahh... NO. I do not at all think she would do that. Harry Potter is a very popular book and movie and someone would have spoken up already if she did. She came up with it on her own in her local cafe and wrote some of the first book on napkins.

I doubt it. I mean, J.K Rowling was single, her husband had left her, and she was rather poor when she started writing the books in a small Cafe in London. I don't think that someone with those kinds of emotions would steal an idea like that. (Boy, I bet whoever J.K Rowling's ex-husband is really regrets leaving her. I mean, she's now richer than even the Queen of England!)

On a programme I watched, J.K Rowling apparently came up with the idea when travelling on a train journey. I definetely do not think she stole the idea. No way.

Personally... i think that it is impossible. I think she came up with Harry Potter on her own.

Really? I thought her husband died. . . I'm pretty sure he passed away. Hhmm.

Anyways, I heard somewhere that there was a story similar to Harry Potter, but I think it came after HP, so, uh, no, don't think HP was a stoeln idea. :)

Anyway, I'm positive that J.K. Rowling didn't steal Harry Potter. Like what Starsky said, I have a book that somebody wrote about an interview he/she had with Rowling. She did make up Harry Potter while on a train ride, and did NOT copy off of another book.

The only person who can know for sure, is J.K. Rowling. But i don't think anyone can really suffer from having an idea stolen. I don't think she stole it from anyone. I do know though that she wrote most of the first book in the Hard Rock cafe and when she was writing it, she was extremely poor.
