Dear Readers--
Do you all remember that fateful day, when the Twin Towers came crashing down? I do. I was in 3rd grade, and we talked about it in school. I remember it being on the news, too.
Do you remember that sound? The sound that sounded like people running away, something falling with a thud? Those were people, but they werent running. Those people where jumping off the North Tower, as to save themselves from a more painful death.
Do you remember, when all was fretting? Do you remember witch Tower fell first? I do. South, then North.
Can you not recall, because you where to young? I dont know anything more devistating than this, and it has now been 5 years sense we lost our World Trade Center.
Five years. 9/11/2001 to 9/11/2006. This day, is remembered, because of so many lives were lost. So many. Tragity struck on 9/11. Odd, persay, why 9/11? I dont know.
Have you looked at a 20$ bill lately? Did you know... that if you fold it just right.... on one side it looks like the Twin Towers burning down? And if you flip it, on the other side it looks like the Pentagon aflame? I didnt until today.
I will take a picture to show you, because I can not quite explain how to tell you to fold it. I havent done it, but know how. I will later, and show you and explain. I think they did that so on purpose, as a secret tribute to 9/11. Here are a few pics of how it goes:
The pictures are too big, so I decided to just put up links of the specialness of the 20 dollar bill. Here:

[Note: Sorry for the bad quality in the pictures. >< The red color is from the flash. xD Sorry.... Enjoy anyways. >< And look closely!!! You might see it! ><]
And now, for my last peaceful words, I have been driven to draw and recolour this on the computer... I found this picture off the internet, and I thought it was beatiful. So, here is my tribute to the World Trade Center.....
Remember Remember -- A Tribute
Thank you,
Maya Huskee

I remember it, very sad day for everyone...although I would'nt want it to be forgotten, many people say they don't want to think or talk about it coz it makes them sad but I'd rather remember it...just for the sake of honouring those who died by not forgetting.
Lovely tribute Maya.

Lovely tribute Maya.
Thank you very much UK. I was quite surprised, actually, when I found no one had done a topic on it. But I was happy that I was able too. =D
I also, too, think that is shouldnt be forgotten, and that is should be remembered to hornour those who died....

I was messing around in the garden when my mum called me in to look at the TV, I did my usual 'Why? what is it now?' routine, came inside, looked at the TV screen and could'nt speak...I seriously thought it was a movie at first until the news caster came on and said it was the twin towers in New York and that a plane had flown into them...I was literally speechless...and that does'nt happen very often.
It kinda dawned on me how serious it was when they fell and I suddenly thought...'there are people in there!!!'...Scary.
I made this just now> http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/39654601/ ....I'm with the wolf....
*howls mournful howl*.

I remember that day quite vividly. I was working. And it was a slow day in the office. And then I got a phone call from my sister about the Pentagon. And we turned on the news (radio) and word started coming in about the towers. And we were as shocked and appalled as anyone was.
And, like many others, I became ANGRY. Furiously angry! It was the closest I'd come in a long time to wanting to enlist to fight for my country (not that I ever envisioned myself as either unpatriotic or even, worse, a conscientious objector, but I never thought much of enlisting before, just to serve politicians and the messes they create. To me, the last honorable war the U.S. engaged in was World War II. The last justifiable conflict, that is, before we entered Afghanistan to rightly punish the Taliban and hunt down Al Qaeda). At that point, I was just at the cut-off age for enlistment in the Army and Marine Corps.
I never did enlist. But I was impressed for the first time in a LOOOOONG time to see the upswell of American patriotism and solidarity among our citizens. And the bravery and sacrifice of the police, fire and emergency services, and the National Guard. Especially in New York City (including all the New Jersey emergency services, police and firemen who went to help).
All of that upswell of patriotism and solidarity was CERTAINLY a welcome change from the selfish and egotistical nature...and the annoying and destructive liberalism...all of which had done so much to divide and fracture our society.
Being a living historian, I understand and appreciate the lessons of history, and the need to remember them. I didn't need the media to remind me of that fact five years later.
The only thing that bothers me is that there wasn't more of a response to Maya's topic. While I know there was some discussion yesterday in the shoutbox, it is a fact that most of the members of Balto Source are, in fact, Americans. It is a cruel reminder of how quickly this nation's young generations forget, or disrespect the lessons which history can teach.
In any case, thank you Maya! And those of you who did respond!

I don't remember that well when I saw it. I just stared at the TV Screen and then heard my pal calling for me and we just huffed at the sense, it kind of not interested. Thinking that there died many peoples and some family members. It kind of feels sad to see two legendary towers to collapse down.
I saw then pictures from Iraq and from Isralea or somewhere near them talibans were celebrating there. It was kind of sick to see some ppl to celebrate to others death. Yet I thought that USA will revenge. Well now USA's revenge list rises up into soon Half milion peoples death in Iraq not saying anything more about that because it will go too political.
Yet have a good one mates that died up in those days.

i remember that day like it was yesterday,my whole family was in total shock at what we saw. That whole day all i could do was watch is sadness at the sight.there were no cars on the road,no one walking the streets oh it was terrible.Me and my brother were young and i could remember that we had to go to the market to buy some things yet we were even to scared to go outside the house.
I will never forget that day,it will always remain in my mind for as long as i live yet i will continue to hold a silence every year for those familes who lost thier loved one's on that horrible day.

Where are your tears?
Don't you now what happened?
Look at the time.
Can't you remember?
Go to the valley.
Go to the city.
Can't you see the empty spaces?
In between the buildings.
In their hearts.
Something's missing.
Time passes.
Must that be your excuse?
Shed a tear.
Write a letter.
Show you care.
Do you even care anymore?
Time heals all wounds....rubbish.
Awwww! T_T Gasp, so sweet. <3 </3
