I don't know what do you think about it, but I like to say that if there are so many happy-endings,that will be boring. For example,we all like TLK,in my opinion,It is not a boring film because when Mufasa was be killed ,we felt sad,so we could be moved when Simba finished his revenge.Amd another great filme Ice Age while Diego was nearly dead, I felt vrey sad,but when he returned,I began to think it is not a very good way though I was moved.
So I think if you want to make a good film,it should teach audiences everthing about life-------including sadness ,missing ,and death

I have to agree. And that's another thing that was great about older animated films...Bambi, Watership down, The Last unicron, The secret of NIMH..those are all some of my favorite films and all deal with death in a very realistic way. I hate the death by falling off a cliff cliche..except in certian cases, where it works, like The Hunchback of Notre Dame, since in that case, the fire was symbolic.

It's seems like the world wants to shelter kids too much, like they can't handle death. But I disagree, I think kids can handle a lot more than most people think. But of course the film makers just wnt to make 'safe' movies.

I hate it when the main character dies. It sort of kills the movie.

I enjoy watching movies where the characters have realistic emotion and aren't just happy-go-lucky all the time. I think just about every one of my favorite movies has either death or some kind of illness in it. There are exceptions, but for the most part this is true.

I agree with what have been said. But I also like when sometimes, the film make you believe that this character has been killed (so an emotional part), and later you find that it's not the case.

Death isn't the only way to make a movie emotional but its certainly and option for animators. :? Only animated movies can make me cry. Music could make me cry...usually...nah.

Happiness gets boring after a short period of time in characters so its better if they feel different emotions like sadness  , madness :x , hatred  , and weird anger

What makes most animated movies good is the theme. The movie has a clear and strong theme built into it and is a vital part of the story. Balto: Knowing who you are, acceptance, TLK: Taking responsabitliy, TLK2: Acceptance. I notice that if the film doesn't use the theme as a major component, it isn't as good. There are exceptions though.

The way I think of that is :if it is a great and valuable movie,it must tells everything about life. For example:Balto and TLK.And if you 've read some classcal great works, you can understand what I mean.
