Fully agreed, humans are animals and dogs are wolves, end of story, that guy you mentioned needs to spend more time in the library and less time hanging around doing nothing.
How could he think wolves are'nt dogs??? How does he think dogs even exist?? People figuered out that if they trained wolves/wild dogs then they would hunt with them and help them coz they can see, hear amell much better than we can and all that happened was dogs evolved from wolves over thousands of years same as humans.
I'd have a right go at him if I ever met him and he'd not be able to shut me up either!

Indeed. But... well i know some of those home *cough*sapiens*cough*, too.
They think they are the best, they wouldn't need the nature (how naive...), etc...
In easy words: arrogant (!), dumb (I'm sorry), and and and...

While technically correct, it seems interesting to ask the question: why do we talk about animals? What do we mean by saying the word "animal"? "Animals" simply means as much as "the others that belong to animal kingdom" (animalia, the group we all are ordered in [the others are "plantae" and "fungi"]). Animals mostlikely assign a similar reference to that, by thinking as much as "not my kind". For them - we also don't belong to their kind - hence, we are what they consider being animals.
This is why I personally stick to the scientific term of "animals" when talking about the study of our kingdom, as it includes humans as well as "the others": Animalia.

Yes humans are animals I agree. After all we ARE mamals right? Yes, we nurse our young,*sometimes :lol* we have hair our young arn't born in shells or something like that. Lol, We just dont have fur and paws. IN a way our hair and hands *feet * resemble to that. Yes we are more intellagent but animals are very intelagent too and have better senses. IN a simalarity its kinda like breeds, are races to us. It just sorta came to me this second . Anyways like stated before, wolves are dogs and dogs are wolves. They have difrent secendants tho. Yes, the Chihawha looks NOTHING like a wolf but yes, indeed it actuall does. and the floppy eared dogs... believe it or not thats arctually a birth defect. Yes so now most dogs have thier own breeds. Im just watching to see what breed they discover next.Lol

I do agree that dogs did come from wolves (I get so sick of telling people at my school this!), but only 1/2 on the "we are animals" thing. I mean, I do know that we are animals, but I don't think we evolved from apes or whatever. While I'm not a very religious person who thinks God made humans, I don't think we evolved from another animal.

Hehe, you should do a couple of google searches, lol, basically, ages ago primates evolved along with many other animals but apes were clever and used tree bark to put food in, stones to scrape away at trees and such and used plants to tie sharp stones to sticks to use for killing animals to eat, over the years they evolved and their spine straightened and hips changed shape, their skull basically their whole anatomy evolved and soon they stood on two legs and it kept going and our brains evolved along with us and now we are what we are today, a subject of millions of years of evolution.

IMO, animals is just a word we use to classify other species. But I guess if you really do think about it, then we humans belong to no other group so I guess we all really are just a bunch of animals... But in my first sentence is the reason why most people would not say humans are animals...
Oh screw it, I'll just make up a new word for the human kingdom.

Yeah, we're definately animals, just more advanced in IQ and capability. I think it's scary how smart we are. If you take a look at everything else; what they can do; and then look at us, it's a major difference. My theory is that humans evolved from some kind of ape or monkey (since they're considered our "cousins" and our genes and DNA only differ by a little bit). Maybe since humans are slower than most of the predatory animals, the early humans had to evolve and adapt in order to survive. So, I guess they developed higher IQs. It's weird how we refer to other animals as just plain animals, and we refer to us as something different. We're animals too, no doubt about it.

Then how'd you explain that mankind exists? I understand that religious people simply can't stick to scientific theory, but as a "non-religious" person it's just plain stupid to deny the serious work scientists do day by day. In fact it appears arrogant as well as ignorant to the factual stuff.
It's kinda the same to say that siberian tiger is not related to a bengal one (and split up after some time in their evolution), while it's biologically and visually OBVIOUS that they are. We simply share too many anatomical features with apes and work with exactly the same metabolisms as animals do as that we'd have to be a "seperate creation". Biologically there's no significant difference between us an them, just that we developed a huge brain during the past 5 million years. We aren't even such a "perfect design", as many people believe us to be: anatomically, we are badly designed - far from healthy body postures. We indeed are a good compromise that allows us to do many things animals couldn't ever think of... but we aren't perfect, and in no way specialized on something... hence, what isn't "a perfect design" has gone and still goes through an evolution, no matter IF someone controls it.
