Yes, this is strict, but if I want to keep this forum clean and well-organized, I think I haven't the choice.
With the forum growing, some problems have been accentuated a lot, such as people making unnecessary and short comments.

That's why :

1 - There are new rules, that everyone should follow :
ftopic832.html
I think they are enough short and simple for everyone can read and understand them.

2 - I allow all the moderators to immediately remove any message that doesn't respect the rules. So don't be surprised if one of your messages suddenly disappear...You'll know the reason.

3 - There is a new moderator! Togo will be a new moderator on the forums, from now. Maybe I will need another moderator in the near future, but for now I think it is enough.
Don't forget that the "moderation" power is not unlimited, so I can remove them if I feel the moderator is having problems or if he asks me to stop (lack of free time, for example)
So anyone could become a mod, as long as you are a good member ;)

It's more the fact that I can't think about everything, so you should have told me before.
Nick was also telling me that I could assign the moderators to different sections, instead of having them on the whole forums. What is your opinion?

Well, having different mods for different sections might be a good idea, but then again, maybe not. If there's a different one for each section, they can focus on their area and catch more things, but if they're global ((mod all sections)) then they can catch spam anywhere. That's the single most annoying thing about being a mod, is that when you are looking over only one section, and see massive spam in other sections, then can't do a thing about it. I know, I've modded around 5 different forums, and on the ones where I mod only one place, I have to be content with reporting the post and waiting for someone else to take care of it.

And Nick's right... It's not very strict. Some places I go to will unofficially warn you for a spam post, officially for another, and ban for a third. I don't think you need to go that far, but the rules you have are fairly alright... I think the problem that we might have is that some of the mods may be a bit reluctant to delete things. Instead of deleting a spammy post, most people will just tell them off and go on. That's part of the problem, I think. People get let off and think they can keep going.

Thing three.

5) and please......for the love of god....do NOT post topics that are obviously...RETARDED! like " Hey guess what, my cat is orange" Or " hey guess what im 13" ...... incredibly annoying...honestly...do you think people are going to have much to say in response to that?

We have to stop things like this. I saw one thread that was about tripping and falling over. I'm sorry to the author, but I don't find that as useful forum material at all.

thats actually a good idea really.. though that suggestion reminds me of Proboards.... at least one moderator for a board, though that mod can be one for more than one board.. but splitting the job for each moderator makes it easier. Plus one or two global mods >.> On my... err well the other orum i go to, I mod one board the "Anime" board though i'm not alone modding it. there are others who mod diffent boards and 2 or 3 members that mod more than one... and we have an active (( VERY ACTIVE )) Gloabal moderator, and then we have one not so active global mod but she does come in occassionally.... We have a pretty well modded site... this is also has good moderation >.>

(( i have rambled on too much... i'm done ))

Yes, I didn't thought about that. So I believe I'm not going to restrict that.

This is exactly what I'm feeling myself, in fact...I think I'm too kind on things like that.

Haha that's cute Steet. Anyway, for things like the little people with spammy posts, just delete and be done. They'll never know who it was anyway... ^^ It's not easy at first but it goes along.

Wee I just deleted a thread. ^^ Fun.

Another forum I'm on has global mods, and then several moderators for certain sections. That way there are a few with the ability to mod the whole board and then others for just like the roleplay, intro section, etc. There's also two administrators so that if they need to ban someone and the main admin isn't on for a week or so they take care of it.

Normally, that works Greykitty, but this isn't that big. Three global mods and an admin may be enough to take care of things here, four mods would definatly do the trick. The boards are so small compared to other places, you know?

Ahh! Smart Nick. Image Assign mods to take care of certain forums, but they can delete wherever they want. Interesting...

My dream

That's possible to do. In that case, each mod should just tell me which sections they would prefer to moderate, and then try to check all the messages regularly on this section. (but they will be able to moderate everwhere)
About getting two admins, well it's the case on the french forums, because Gamesoflight has become like "webmaster associate" he is also admin there. I'm not sure at the moment if I'll do the same here...
