Hey gang!
I don't usually post in this board (because I must admit to being a lousy artist...lol...at least when it comes to drawing animals and people anyway. Proportion and body structure are not my strong suits in artistry...lol), but I have been inspired to by some recent events in the "True Story" board!
A couple of members who are also fan artists (with galleries in the Fan Art section) have expressed interest in drawing the REAL Balto, and Togo, and even the not-so-well-known Fritz (Togo's half-brother, and his co-leader on Leonhard Seppala's team during the 1925 Serum Run). The artists, however, mentioned having few points of reference to work from, and were looking for help.
I have provided, in one thread on that board, some reference photos (both historical ones as well as recent color photos of the dogs' skin mounts as well as closely-related descendants for the sake of color reference). Here is the page of that thread where all of it is located:

I just thought you'd like to know that! One of the artists, Highland Wolf (her fan art gallery is under "Scotland Wolf") has already done a color rendering of the real Balto, and she and Whitewolf(uk) are attempting others! Just thought this might spur on some interest in some others in doing drawings of the real dogs!
