Now this is a terrible time for Walking Horse fans. One of the biggest horseshows on earth, The Celebration did not have it's World Grand Championship, the biggest honor a Walking Horse can get this year.
It's all because of the USDA. It started out with a horse a man sold to an old woman. The horse had scars on it's legs, so the woman took the horse to Washington DC.
So the USDA sent out chicken inspectors with guidline books! I was laughing like crazy when he drove home from the Celebration last night. Why? What the heck does a chicken inspector know about inspecting horses? Sure they have guideline books, but you can't rely on a book for everything! Putting a chicken inspector even with a guideline book in charge of the inspections, is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
So for the World Grand Championship, all but three horses were rejected by the chicken inspectors. So the owners of those three remaining horses like me, didn't want to win by default.
So this year, they should leave the cover of the Voice of the Tennessee Walking Horse magazine blank. Why? Because ever since the Voice has covered the Celebration, the World Grand Champion was on the cover, so the cover should be white with only the logo and the date mentioned on the cover.
I have been a Walking Horse fan ever since I got three Voice magazine off of one of my dad's buddies, three years ago.
A terrible time for everyone, correct?
