Yes, the film is alot sadder than the novel. Depends what you believe happeded in the end of the film to though.

Not to mention they produced another ' kid-friendly' version and made a really horrible hash of it. Rolling Eyes

There isn't any 'kid-friendly' version of the plague dogs but there is the edited version. The unendited one is more graphic, but the edited one is still dark.

But, as for the second question, I'm trying desperately to find the film. No success. Sad

If you can, online is best ;) I got mine uncut (Australia) from bluesky on Ebay =)

I've heard of it before and I've seen one of the scenes on YouTube. I think it's much darker than Watership Down. I really want to see the whole movie.

I bought the cut version over Amazon.com (I have no idea where to get the uncut). The Plague Dogs has got to be my favorite movie now. It's just so... depressing. A real eye-opener. I really want to read the book now.

How much of a difference is there between the cut and uncut? From what I know, only one scene was cut out because of the gore factor, and the rest were just for time. I'm not sure if that's correct, though.

The only uncut DVD they have at this moment is region 4 (Australia, New Zeland etc) I'm not sure about the reasons the cut out alot of scenes. But the gore scene of the human the dogs ate was probably removed for that reason. The uncut one is so much better I think, I hope they release it uncut in more places!

I got the censored version and I like it. Haven't read the book, though I heard it's boring at a few spots.

I would like to see the uncut version but I don't have the money to afford it.
