Oh dear, I thought BB2 was too much. I dont think they could possibly think up another sequel for BB3, since BB2 was a complete knock-off of SO MANY movies, if you put two and two together. I must say, I've never rented the DVD I only watched it on youtube.com, but if they have no Extras, I can clearly see why, because the whole thing would be about certain scenes of BB2 being "inspired" by other movies (me and gk managed to pick out the movies Pocahontas, Mulan, Tarzan, Lion King, and a few more scenes from this movies that were almost IDENTICAL to the scenes in those movies)
Hmm, I never thought about that, Cat. You make a good point that some of the scene were "inspired" by previous Disney successes (You know, Nita, in some scenes, reminded me of Pocahontas . . . mainly with her flowing hair.), but BB2 did sum up the series pretty well IMO.

Now to tell you the truth, the first movie was AWESOME to say the least. Very original story and twist, with heart-warming songs, and beautiful animation and backgrounds.
So true, so true. I liked it . . . and the ending surprised me when I first saw it. The story, basically, was not "original" original IMO, but it was told in a way that made it seem like a story that was new and original.

They managed get keep the beautiful animation of the first movie in BB2, but they failed with the story. Ok, sequels are supposed to change character or show another point in a character's life where it changed. Now, I wouldve been mad if they turned Kenai back into a human, then it would've reversed everything about the first movie and would basically be telling the first movie that it was "incorrect" making Kenai a bear. But for this sequel...all they did was give Kenai a girlfriend. Big whoop, they could've done that in the first movie, but they didn't (for good reason too).
I think that all BB2 was nothing more than Nita's story. Kenai only had a part in Nita's journey for her own happiness (from what I think), but by reintroducing the other main characters (Rutt, Tuke, Koda), it made the journey interesting.
But yeah, mainly the sequel did what most sequels do: give the main character of the original a girlfriend/boyfriend . . . er, lover. (Remember TLK2? Pocahontas 2? (*shudders*) There's probably some more, but I can't think of any more.
Agreed. If Kenai returned to his human body, that would have destroyed everything, so I suppose the best thing to give a bear bachelor like Kenai would be a girlfriend . . . er, a friend from his past.

And honestly, I could not even believe that the sequel was in the making before the first movie was even out. I thought that was a VERY. Desperate attempt to make money on Disney's part, which is both laughable and pitiful.
Uh, isn't that what companies always want to do? At least they could have put some more thought into whatever the heck they were thinking/doing/whatever.

Now, I know what some of you are thinking: "Uh! Cat NEVER likes sequels! She doesn't like anything!" That's not true XD There are a few sequels that I thought were better than the original movies. For example, I thought that An American Tale 2: Feivel Goes West was better than An American Tale.
Well, I don't like some sequels either *cough*SecretofNIMH2*cough*, but I wasn't thinking that. That reaction is only natural when a company destroys the original glory of the film's basis.
And yes, Fievel Goes West was soooo much better than the original. It was less depressing and more adventurous. Just a fair warning: Don't watch the other sequels (Mystery of the Night Monster and The Treasure of Manhattan Island) - they destroy the original two to bits. Ick.
(Shrek 2 is another good example of a sequel that I think is better than the original. This is a difficult task to achieve, but when a sequel is made that can actually stand out as its own movie and not just a sequel, well, you got something good there!)
