I've known about this for quite some time. Too bad I was busy at the time or I would have tried to do a voiceover part. (I would have been very interested in being involved in the writing of the script in some way, but I think they had already finished that phase of production by the time I learned about it.)
They've been at it for quite some time. The actual animation itself should be quite time-consuming, so I don't expect we'll see this movie for several years, at the least.

I think if they get lots of support instantly out of nowhere it'll come out a bit soon, but if there aint much support or it comes later on then it'll take lots of time.

First of all, calm down Siver. I don't know if you can draw a wolf, and I don't care about what you won, you mustn't use your own style to draw. If you would do it, everyone would do it and the movie would be with hundreds of styles: a horrible movie. So, if you want to have that position, learn the style they use, or give in.
You are soo right and that is why I'm pissed off, I made the kinds of drawings they want they are the ones that are in my gallery (only the wolf movie ones) and I showed them lot's of different art work that I have and who do they think they are to tell me I need to draw better and it's not only that it's they way they said it it's like if told Togo practice more your italian, wouldn't that just piss you off? and I made specially drawings for them different styles and that's what I get?! anyways well I hope you get a posotion Togo

I've heard of other people getting simular responses, and they weren't very polite responses from what they said. They need to be more tactful in how they turn down applications.

That's a sure thing. If I was them, I would just say something like "thanks for sending your drawings, but we have the regret of announcing that you weren't chosen."
Well, it's not for nothing that I said I was not sure even Pample would be talented enough
I also think that if they are too much demanding, they will never finish making this film...

Hello everyone,
My name is Audrey and I'm the project Director for Wolf. First of all, I'd like to thank you all for opening this discussion of Wolf on your forums and also thank Steet for directing me to the site, which is one of the best Balto sites I've come across.
I just wanted to post that I always aim to make my responses polite. the answer may not always be what the writer hoped to hear, but I am not rude when I have to turn people down. I truly appreciate everyone who puts in the time to send us an application. However, unfortunately, we can't use everyone who applies. To make the movie work, animators have to have a certain skill level so the film stays consistent.
Silver Snow, it was not my intent to piss you off. I was being honest in my reply and giving you some critique and suggestions that I thought would be helpful to you. If you choose to ignore those things, that's fine. If the way you draw makes you happy, that's great, keep at it. But in my opinion, your anatomy was off and the drawings did not feel solid, not to mention that one of the application pieces you sent in was just a copy of the Shadow design that's on the website and it was not in proper Wolf style. That showed me that it would be very hard for you to conform to our style.
This was my reply to your application and if you truly feel it was rude, then again, I apologize as it was not intended to be:
Quote: Hello, thank you for applying to be an artist for the Wolf movie project. I have taken some time to review the art samples that you submitted, and while I can tell that you love to draw and that you seem to be able to pick up the subtleties of style, I feel that you could use some more work in basic anatomy. In most of the drawings, the animals are lacking structure. I hope that you will continue to draw and I will suggest that you try drawing from real life to help your skills and also look at some skeletal structures of dogs and wolves.
If you would like, you may re-apply at later time once you feel that your skills have improved. I hope you will continue to support Wolf and I do thank you for taking the time to send us an application.
Thank you, Audrey Walker Project Director
Now, if you or anyone has any further problems about a position or reply given you, I would be glad to continue discussion through email. Thank you!
~Audrey

Hi Audrey
Well, it seems your message wasn't rude as Silver snow seemed to say. I think you have been very clear with your message, and I'm even surprised that you did take the time to write a personalized answer, especially if you get a lot of emails. (I know that myself, I would have wrote an automatic answer for all the negative answers...)

I have to agree with Steet, that really is not rude at all. An artist must always be open to critique or they'll never get any better. Sometimes it may be irritating to receive a comment like that, but they should take it all in stride, so long as the person giving the critique isn't bashing the artist. I'm guessing the other individuals who received turndowns got similar e-mails and just took them the wrong way.
