I bought a new airsoft gun. ICS M16A3. This thing has POWER...punches holes through cardboard boxes at two and a half meters away. They're on the pricey side, but I don't buy cheap airsoft anymore, too many of them failed.
Anybody else do airsoft or are interested in it here?
A pic of the little monster (magazine used for size reference) :
This thing feels like you're holding a real M16, since it weighs probably about seven pounds all loaded up...lol.

Actually, you appear to be agreeing with Sarafina. However, my interpretation is that Sarafina was telling Alpine that his original post does NOT belong here. A post about a weapon, even an air gun that shoots BBs (instead of bullets), is probably ill-fitting. It is, after all, still a weapon. And I agree with Sarafina.

Alright. It wasn't clear from your previous post. Still, if you look up the specs of the Airsoft M16A3, http://www.azoutdoor.net/Products/M16A3%2DICS%20Olympic%20Arms.html, that still defines it as a weapon. Not a firearm maybe, but a weapon. Hell, it even has a selectable semi- or fully-automatic firing mode! Full-auto for BBs??? Isn't that kind of the same sort of overkill as when a hunter uses a full-auto firearm to take down a deer? (I'm not an animal rights-extremist incidentally, but really!) Is someone planning on making swiss cheese out of some hapless squirrels in their neighborhood? LOL. Sheesh!

Well if you go into details its considered a weapon but you cant actually kill someone with it, and i dont think hunters are exactly using airsoft guns against deer. There mainly replica's of the army's weapons who use semi and full automatic and its not exactly overkill for them

As to the question of whether or not BBs can kill, please take a look at this: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/pubs/5089.html
Actually, I didn't say that hunters were using airsoft guns against deer. I said "firearms"...and firearms use black powder to propel the ammunition...not air pressure.
Look buddy. I'm not arguing with you. And I know you're not trying to argue with me. But I just was confused by your original post. But the fact is that a BB gun is dangerous, and I believe Sarafina was just concerned about a discussion about weapons here on a kid-friendly forum. I know lots of teens have airsoft guns. Many of my friends, when I was a teen, had BB guns. And some neighborhood kids did a fair amount of damage with them. That's all I'm trying to point out.
Are we good, you and I? 'Cause I'm good.

As long as you clearly mention that these are dangerous and aren't for very young kids, it's ok.

They are dangerous- when used improperly. I use these for competitions and simulation battles like you would find in the real world. They hurt when they hit you, but only leave a little welt and a bruise. I've never actually seen one break someone's skin. I use safety glasses to protect my eyes while I'm doing a skirmish with my friends. Sorry if one of my hobbies upset you all, I wasn't thinking it would, since there are probably other people who airsoft or do stuff along those lines in here.
