I never read the book, but I didn't like the films. Way too...boring. The acting is horrible (seems like the actors are reading a book, they have no expression), the story seems confused to me who hasn't read the books, the musics are not that great for such a high production film...And the wonderful special effects and everything doesn't help that these films seems empty to me. Nah. I've seen all three films, but that's because I haven't got the choice. The only scenes I like are the scenes with Gollum & Frodo. I didn't care for the wars or anything else.

I haven't read the books but it seems like a really bad adaptation of the books to me. However, I really liked the game "Return of the king", one of the best Beat-em-all I've ever played (especially for co-op!)

I loved the movies, I'm not obsessed with it or anything, but I thought they were great. But I would have to say the books are better.

You should read the book Steet! I agree that the story might seems confuse in the film. That's because the three books are separated in two each. When you read, you understand the greatness when the Roan arrive at Minas Tirith and things like that. And I think the most important part isn't in the movie: when Frodo & cie. come back in the Shire, this, is like the word of the end and they didn't put that in the movie! :(

(have you notice that were both french and we speak english to each other? :D )

Someone who feels like I do. ^^ The wars are alright if Gandalf's in them. Buttt... I didn't really get the movie, nor the books.

Don't get me started on the music. It's as bad as getting me started on Star Wars. Just to show you how much I love good movie music, during the begining of StarWars Episode III, I almost complety forgot to read the intro because I was so busy listening to the music.

LOTR, Star Wars, Harry Potter. i lov eall those themes. I love most any movie dealing with magic, medival or ancient times, and sci-fi. But animated movies are what i really love. I watch Balto at least 2 times a day its like a vitamin pill. daily doses :D
