Summary: If you think being a Wolf is easy, then you’re sadly mistaken. As a young pup, Wolf grows up thinking she is no different, that she has no better place to be. Then one day, Wolf’s curiosity gets to her, & she finds herself in the forest behind her yard. When Wolf meets a Coyote/Wolf cross breed named Koyotee, then Wolf realizes something important: She is Wolf. Wolf falls in love with the outrageous Koyotee, but one night her secrets catch up with her. Wolf finds herself having to choose between Love & her Family. When put on the spot, Wolf cant choose. She simply thinks she can run from her problems, & as a matter of fact she can! Wolf runs off into the night as it rains, the worst rainstorm of the season. After a few days of being lost within a wolf clan’s territory, Wolf is found. The devious wolf who finds her, also happens to be the most evil wolf in the clan- Darkpelt. Darkpelt, hating all Doggiepets, & Wolf smells of doggiepet, she isn’t in much luck. Thankfully, Swiftshadow a silver fae comes. Swiftshadow ,being the Deputy of the clan, comes to rescue Wolf. Then Wolf is taken back to the clan’s camp, & her fate is decided there. Wolf is put at Tealstar’s mercy. After long argument, Swiftshadow convinces Tealstar to let Wolf stay, but barely. Then Wolf becomes Wolf, Apprentice to MoonClan, the 5th Clan of StarClan. Wolf begins her training with her mentor, Fireheart, & her best friend, Lightfoot. They start by traveling around the MoonClan territory. In her journey Wolf endures Secrets, Love, Loyalty, Stupidity, Longing, & Friendship. Will she ever be fully excepted into the clan?
Notes: After fourteen years, my love for wolves and magic has paid off. I have a love for role-playing, and spend a lot of time doing so. I have always loved to write, too. Reading had another big impact on my life, leading to new adventures and experiences. All my life I have really only read books to do with wolves, or dogs. I have also taken an interest into the magical mist wolves. I had found the idea when browsing across a book called “Avalon Quest for Magic, Book 3, Ghost Wolf”. I read it, and fell in love with the authors magical mist wolves. She gave me the idea, and at first Lord Bambino had begun just like the mist wolves from the book, but then I turned him into a whole new type of breed of mist wolf. I got the idea of StarClan & the 5 clans from Erin Hunter’s “Warriors” series. At first I was just writing another version of it in a Wolfish-style, then it became something just about totally different. I still tried to stay somewhat on the line of “Warriors”, but I also wanted it to be totally different. I couldn’t help but make it different. In 7th & 8th grade I spent time with two English teachers. Mr. Craig, & Ms. Shwandt. I didn’t have nearly as much time spent with Mr. Craig as I did Ms. Shwandt, but they were both wonderful. They inspired me & always told me to keep on writing. I have a natural knack for writing stories, and get better as the years go on. This story is my greatest accomplishment so far, but I hope to do better. Vocabulary with Ms. Shwandt widen my own vocabulary and helped me to write this story. In English we read & wrote a lot, witch also helped in writing this. When I read a book, it widens my whole brain into a new state, giving it more information in many different ways. I love to read, as I had mentioned, and if I didn’t I don’t think I would be the writer I am now. These stories that people tell, make life seem so wonderful, even if the story is harsh. I would like to tell each author personally how much their books helped & changed my life, but I can’t. I just want all authors to keep on writing, and hope they get each book published to share with the world. If I could, I would especially like to met, and thank, Jack London, because he inspired me with “Call of the Wild” & “White Fang”. I am sure many other people have read the books, and may even feel the same way. Jack London, I thank you. I like to watch TV too, but I try not to watch it all to often. Every once in a while, even TV will give me ideas for a character. They may just mention a name, or such that will spark an idea. TV can be useful, but don’t get addicted. I am, yes, a computer addict. I spend my time on the Balto Source, a wonderful place that you can find here: http://baltosource.timduru.org/balto.html. I spend my time in the forums, and around the site, enjoying it as much as possible. I spend time there because I do not have many friends in the “real world” I will say. But if I ever met any of my fellow BSers then I would threat them just as I threat them now, as my friends. I want to thank them all too, because they are like family to me. I want to say more, but I don’t know what because I can’t acknowledge anyone else, because there is no one else. Maybe someone on the street said something that sparked an idea, but I cannot remember it all. I don’t know whom else to thank, so if I forgot you, I thank you now. Thank you all. I love each and every one of my readers, and hope they liked this one enough to actually read Shadows in the Sun, part 2. I hope you all read part 2, and enjoy it too. I will acknowledge you all there too. --M.Huskee

-Prologue:
A large she-wolf appeared from the bushes pushing her way out, being careful. A small bundle of fur was dangling from her muzzle. She sat down in the clearing, and then put the little bundle between her paws. It began to squeak and wriggle on its mother paws. The she-wolf licked the pup’s head briefly, and then she lifted her head to the sky and howled, long and loud. As she let her head bow down to look at her pup, a large dark black German Shepherd appeared before her. The she-wolf looked up at the shepherd, but made no attempts to leave.
‘Is that her?’ The shepherd grunted. He looked down on the small black and grey pup.
‘Yes. This is her. Please take care of her…’ The she-wolf picked up the little pup and gave her to the shepherd.
‘Aye, I will… What is her name?’ He put the pup down between his paws.
‘She has none. Give her a doggypet name if you will. I want her to feel as comfy around your Two-legger as possible. I don’t want her to feel misplaced.’ She let out a whine of sadness to be letting her only pup go.
‘Aye… I will. But I don’t think you should come to visit the pup. She may ask to many questions… or feel as if she belongs with you.’ The shepherd pressed his nose up against her flank, comfortingly. The she-wolf let out a wail of sadness.
‘But she does belong with me!!! Ohhh! I don’t want to leave her! She is all I have left of Him!!!’ Tears rolled down the she-wolf’s face sadly. ‘I don’t want to leave her forever… But I must.’ She looked up into the shepherd’s eyes, her sharp blue eyes glossy with tears.
‘I know, but you must! You must, my dear.’ Leaning down he gently touched his nose to hers.
The little pup wriggled around on the shepherd’s paws, squeaking. The shepherd and the she-wolf both looked down on the pup, but it just made the she-wolf’s stream of tears increase. The she-wolf turned her head, looking away. The shepherd got up, and the little pup slid off his paws, landing in a patch of grass, harming the pup none. The shepherd walked up to the she-wolf and licked her cheek caringly.
The she-wolf stood up and licked the shepherd’s face friendly, but warmly. ‘Thank you… Oh thank you…’ She whispered softly into his ear. All the shepherd could do was smile; happy he had lifted her hopes, after losing her mate and pup. The she-wolf looked to the sky, and it was almost Moonhigh.
‘I must go. It’s almost Moonhigh… Please take good care of her… She is all I have left of him.’ She closed her eyes one last time, and nuzzled her pup. ‘Good-bye, my daughter…’ Then she looked deeply into the shepherd’s eyes. ‘She is all I have. Take care of her, as if she were your own kin…’
‘Aye, of course I will. Now go. She is in good paws.’ He nudged the she-wolf softly, pushing her away. Then the she-wolf walked towards the bush, looked back one more time, then disappeared into the bush. As soon as she disappeared, the shepherd looked back to the pup, which was wriggling and wailing for attention. He walked over to her and picked her up by her scruff.
The shepherd began to walk back to his Two-legger nest. Suddenly a howl of loss and despair rose above the trees. He knew it was the she-wolf howling for her pup, and her mate. The shepherd looked up into the night sky, and looked at Silverpelt.
‘Aye, bless StarClan that she’ll be alright.’ Then he continued back to his Two-legger nest. He squeezed through the gap in the back of the wire fence being careful not to hurt the pup. Then he crawled into his little nest and laid the pup between his paws and licked it, warming her fur. The little pup curled up in between his paws and began to sleep. The shepherd too, closed his eyes and began to fall into a deep sleep.
