Im still not gonna post any topics here but I just would like to say Im sorry for critizing the people of balto source...I know the moderators have a job I just felt they take it TO seriously....I mean this is the internet..... But I just got so mad I started typing whatever was in my mind....Im sorry if my topics were boring and all but one time I wanted people to view my art and my topic got locked for that!!I mean i was trying to get some people whom had been having trouble finding me to find me....I said ill post a topic about this and youll know its me and they were like ok!but they never fo8und me...THANKS ALOT.......so its just id wish youd take this a little less serious but no hard feeling mkay?

Pirate, we forgive you, but I hope that you realize that you've made yet another spam topic, and this one is going to get locked as well. Oh, and the mods are supposed to take their jobs seriously. If they don't, the forum would be in a mess because of exceptions to rules. So, just understand that just because your topics are locked aren't because the mods are taking their jobs too seriously. It's because what you've posted was against the rules.

Thanks Kari. That helped...a tiny bit. But I still am not sure what the real problem is. Sure, this guy (or girl?) is somewhat overreactive and vitriolic, but what did he (she?) post that was so bad otherwise? Was it some offensive art or language? Flaming? A bunch of profanity? I see that Dark_Wolf locked one of this person's role-play threads. And she probably had a good reason. I don't know, as I didn't see it myself (I'll have to go looking I guess).

But, let's be totally honest...if this person was singled out for his/her threads being locked for criticizing things, then that's not right, so long as he/she didn't get nasty or vitriolic. Flaming others is NEVER acceptable. But criticism in of itself should not result in locked threads or even banning. People have a right to speak their minds (and I'm just playing general "devil's advocate" here...not defending this particular person) - and a criticism should be just as protected as rosy praises and kudos.

The fact is, there ARE some members of Balto Source (I won't name names, and I won't flame these people, or start a war or an argument) who have elephantine egos...and feel a sense of entitlement which borders on the offensive. I have to admit to some annoyance at this. And those particular people are treated, by some others here, like celebrities. When, in fact, they are not. And it never ceases to amaze me that this kind of behavior and attitude is allowed to prevail on Balto Source.

Still, in the thread you linked, this person was being immature and petty. And that's just wrong.

I see little there that is offensive. Again, I'm not trying to create a problem. I'm just trying to rationalize this matter out to its logical conclusion.

No, Pirate wasn't exactly "targeted" when it came to their threads...but that was apparently what they thought the mods were doing. Take a look at these threads they made, and you'll probably understand it better:

Now, if I'm not mistaken, these topics fall under the category of "spam", and so the mods closed them. Pirate thought that they were taking their jobs too seriously, and made this topic:

After we reasoned with them (or at least I think we did), they made this topic, which I still, for some reason, find a bit offensive. Aren't the mods supposed to make sure that everyone follows the rules? Aren't they supposed to take their jobs seriously in order to keep the forums in order?

EDIT: Oh, I didn't realize that you posted again. I guess you already saw the threads if you did a search on their posts. But, none of these topics were "offensive", just thought to be "spam", which is against the rules. That's why they were locked.

There's no doubt in my mind that a topic like this will be locked,because I've made several topics that got locked in the game,help/suggestions,and several other areas as well.

No problem, Kari. I see what you're saying, and I agree with you. Totally. That last thread was unacceptable, on the author's part. I can see his/her frustration, but that was no way for him/her to deal with the problem.

And Sarafina? I sympathize with you on this completely! There are, in fact, one or two of the moderators here who are a little over-eager to say stuff like "there's already another topic like this" or who are a little too trigger-happy with the lock button. Not that all of them are. Most of them are very fair and logical about stuff like this.

Balto Seppala,I not only got topics locked for that,but also because they turned into an unruly dispute,or were an unnecessary game topic,eg.animal pairs,and the drink game,which I made to go along with Dingowolf's food game.

Well, we can probably chalk up the "unruliness" and disputes to the age of the majority of the members. LOL. Not to say that adults can't be unruly or belligerent. But with a bunch of emotionally-charged teenagers running around...WELL!
