Well, the other (you could say most famous) dog was Fritz. Here are some pics of Balto and the team http://baltosource.timduru.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=7549 Balto Seppala aslo made a topic of the dog's summer kennals with most likely Balto's team mates. But unfortunatly i can't find it again  Balto Seppala can most likely though, so hopefully he will find it for you! I don't really know the names, but i can renember that one of the dogs was Togo's brother i think.

Fox, Ske, Billie, Tillie, Old Moctoc, and Alaskan Slim. That's six of Balto's teammates. =)

The other seven were sold or died by the time the team went to live in Los Angeles. So not much is known about them.

Their names, at least those who were taken on the U.S. tour with Balto (five were not...there were twelve total team members...only seven made the U.S. tour), are:

Sye, Fox, Old Moctoc, Tillie, Billy, and Alaska Slim

Here's a little info on (most of) them:

Fox was noted as the "second in command" of the team...the co-leader (after Balto). Gunnar Kaasen, the team's musher, was under instructions from Leonhard Seppala (his boss, mentor and the owner of the dogs) to NOT use Balto as a lead dog on the twelve-member team. Sepp wanted Kaasen to use Fox, a dog with more experience. In the picture below, Fox is the dog on the left. Next to him is Gunnar Kaasen and Balto, and then an unidentified man and another member of the team (which could be any of the other members of the team save for Old Moctoc. Why is explained below)

Sye was the youngest member of the team, and the last of the seven members to pass into eternity after Balto (he died a year after Balto did, in 1934...lonely and despondent, but well-cared for). Rumor has it that he was the only member of the team to breed. There is a reference to his escaping from the enclosure at the Cleveland Brookside Zoo (now the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo), and impregnating a German Shepherd dog...a police dog apparently. Heh heh...

Old Moctoc was the oldest member of the team, and was said to look so much like a wolf that he sometimes scared people who were not accustomed to him...especially the citizens of the United States who saw him with the team during the U.S. tour, and in the zoo.

Tillie was the only female in the entire group.

I don't really have anything of note on Billy or Alaska Slim. However, here are some photos of the team, taken shortly (or just) after the Great Serum Run:

In actuality, five members of the team (whose names are not generally known), were kept in Alaska when the rest were sent on the U.S. tour with Balto and Kaasen. They did spend about three months in the "dime-a-look" museum in Los Angeles, and suffered terribly from neglect while there (were kept in a dark, musty, hot room, with no opportunity for exercise, and little chance to be outdoors). However, the entire team was rescued by Cleveland businessman George Kimble's efforts, and the rallying cry he raised after chancing upon the dime-a-look museum while walking down a Los Angeles street, and seeing a sign which advertised the team being on display inside (his efforts to rescue them brought donations in from all over the country, thanks to the help of the press corps). Kimble took pity on the dogs, seeing the terrible condition they were in, and how despondent they looked. He wanted to take the team right away, and offered what money he could. However, the dime museum owner wanted $2000.00 (a LOT of money in those days!), though he was said to be glad to be rid of them, because he wasn't making the kind of money he hoped to by exploiting the team. Kimble contacted the Cleveland press after the dime-a-look museum owner balked about what price he'd be willing to let the team go for.

After being taken to another location to be cleaned up and fed, the team was then transported by train to the city of Cleveland. There, they were feted and given a wonderful parade in their honor (in which the team appeared). Then, they were brought to the Cleveland Brookside Zoo (now the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo), where they were given a nice new enclosure to live in (apparently it was shaped like a crescent), where they were well-cared for, and visited often. It is there, over the next several years that, one by one, the dogs passed on...Balto being second-to-last in 1933, and Sye the very last a year later. After that, the enclosure was torn down. A wolf pen stands today where the enclosure was.

The only memorial to the team and its presence there is a pair of reclining bronze statues...one of Balto (sitting) and another of Togo (laying down). It sits a short distance from the wolf pen. Togo looks in the direction of that pen (apparently...I have yet to visit, though I plan to soon!), and it is said that the wolves often look back...at both statues. Here is a pic of the statues:

It's also worth noting (and sorry for the triple-post folks), that Togo and Fritz were not on Balto's team. They were the co-leaders on their own team (Leonhard Seppala, their owner, was their musher). Togo was the senior, and Fritz (his half-brother) was the second-in-command.
