What are some movies with effects that just blow you away? I absolutely love what they did for Titanic! And the launch sequence in Apollo 13 is stunning!

I almost came to tears when I saw the special effects portrayed in Armaggedon. I loved the meteorites in the New York scene. Ah, sweet, sweet, CG. ^^

I love basically any explosion or stuff like that (the big ones, not the stunt ones) but I'd have to say the CG effects in Lord Of The Rings were awesome.
The amazing numbers of the armies.
Those really cool Nazguls.
The way they incorporated CG horses falling into a massive herd of live action horses galloping.

Ah, so amazing...

I agree. Titanic was awesome. :P
Another good movie (I don't know if anyone has seen it, but...) is Mee-Shee. The animation of the loch ness monster was done by Jim Henson's Creature Shop (I think, but I'm not 100% sure), and the animation is absolutely amazing. I was surprised.
