Australian Cattle Dogs are awesome! They were bred to "heel" or nip the heels of cattle or horses. So they are lightning quick. My heeler Houdini is fast enough he could race with a Whippit and almost tie with it, seriously! Based on that, I'm training for agility.

They don't attack children, it explains it on the website I mentioned, they're heeling them. When a kid who is playing with their kid, the heeler may think the other kid is hurting their kid, so they heel the other kid away by nipping.
I didn't know they are a cross between collies and dingos. So that explains what they look like!
Oh yeah, I must say, that my dog Houdini is the stump-tailed variety, I don't consider the stump-tailed ACD a different breed, the stump-tailed ACD founder probably was a mutated ACD.

They make great dogs, though are kinda stubborn.  But I love them so much. I wish I could bring Houdini home with me, but he's gotta herd the horses at my dad's.

Blue heeler, red heeler, gueensland heeler, australian heeler, all of those are other names for the Austrailian Cattle Dog, but I prefer to call them, heelers.
