LOL, well really anything any creature eats acts on the body differently.. What kind of dog food are you feeding your dog? Cheese does seem to create more gas in dogs from what I've noticed... I'm sure there are other things.. Also he could be eating too much of it.. how much are you feeding?

My Scottish Collie, Cowboy lives at my house is fed Purina Adult. While my Austrailian Heeler, Houdini who lives at my dad's farm is fed Black Gold Premium.
Oh yeah, Iams, is a petfood company of course they have to test their products on animals.

Did it have anything gross on it? If if it doesn't I'd like to see it. Anyway, I'm not going to buy a single bag of Iams food in my entire life.

Kaydence - Really, dont' listen to PETA they say one thing, do another and are full of total bull *#R$.... I work in the animal business and everybody I've talked to and I all agree PETA is just bad news. I live in the Washington DC area which is also pretty close to their headquarters, and I've seen them around. Talk about a bunch of freaks. There are news articles you can read on the web telling why PETA is bad news. One I've read was about how somebody called to get some strays picked up and the PETA group took the owners dog as well, then euthanized them all on the spot... another big story that's happened more recently was that a lot of PETA members were supposed to taking dogs they "rescue" and then euthanize them in the van on the spot before leaving then dump them off in dumpsters. A BIG NO NO, THAT IS ILLEGAL, they were caught in the act on the last story. The president of the group and many of it's members say one thing like they are a "no killl" group meaning they don't euthanize and clearly that isn't true.. their euthanasia rate is an extremely high percentage.. right up there with the "kill" shelters. But really they all end up saying they are this no kill group and they end up doing the opposite.. Almost every philosophy of there's I've heard of. they turn around do exactly what they're against.. Now to me that is screwed up.
So moral of the story. Don't beleive what you hear from PETA, don't even bother to view there pathetic "stories".. they are there to trick you into believing them to just turn right around on your unsuspecting butt.
But anyways back to the topic of this thread.... I feed my dogs Iams right now.. well my parents feed my dogs Iams... I don't have anything against the company.. I agree that some test feedings must be done... I haven't read too much into what they are claiming was happening in these test of theirs but I really don't bother with these rumors until I have hard evidence in hand.... I am however trying to switch my dogs to a better brand of food that is recommened by many reputable breeders and mushers, including Karen Ramstead who is the only musher to run the Iditarod with a pure bred team of canadian registered Siberian Huskies... many of her dogs that run on the team are also canadian champion show dogs... very great quality dogs.. she's improving the breed and I love her work and effort to produce top of the line dogs and support their bred purpose.. pulling those sleds.. They're working dogs and need the exercise.. the dogs absolutely love it! But the food brand is "Eagle Pack" ... it's made of human-grade food.. including pork, chicken, corn, and tons of other stuff... read up on their website and you can see the drastic improvment in food quality your dog is receiving with this food... one thing they mention is that companys like Iams, Purina and the such say they're using the best chicken and stuff while in fact they are using watered down meats.. so like 70% of the meat is water.. while Eagle Pack is 100% meat... that's what I'm talking about.. I want the best and I've heard nothing but excelent reviews on this dog food. I was thinking of doing an all raw meat diet with my dogs but I'm not in the mood for that drastic of a change quite yet.. possibly in the future.

I'm sure that in America you have different dog foods to England but I know very well - from experience - that both my dog and my dad's dog get.. yeah.. gas.. if they eat 'Butchers' canned meat.
Personally, I do not like feeding them canned meat. Not only does it make them gain weight easily but you also don't know what is in it. I feel safer with kibbles.
Archie loves Pedigree & Pal kibbles. Without water because otherwise they get soggy by the time he gets hungry. He's not a greedy dog. My dad's dog will probably eat anything but his particular favourite is Bakers Complete. They both seem healthy so I recommend these.
