I have already talked about that a few times, but I wanted to put it here :

Image

It seems that this comes from a deleted scene...
And recently, I've found that message while searching on a Google groups that may be a proof for that there were quite a few deleted scenes in the whole film :

Quote:
chance (those who have the books will note that the stories within vary somewhat from what hit the screen. I think it's because
Grosset&Dunlap were given very early revisions of the script
to work from, and that changes kept occurring right up until the
picture wrapped. Check out the scene on page 7 of the hard-
cover book for illustration. That scene never happened!)

By the way, there are a LOT of interesting informations in these old newsgroups, especially the ones coming from this guy (chance, he says he was an ex-Ambimation employee)

Here is the entire topic : (posted in 1995!)

Try to avoid double posts, when it is not necessary. You should be able to edit your messages (the little icon on the upper right of the message)
I still allow double posts, if you have many things to say or want to move up a topic.

I've seen them all before but I still am wondering why Star ripped Steele's collar off...well I guess we'll never know..

If only we would really know someone who worked on the original Balto...
We would kill him with all the questions we have

I was thinking since Steele is so proud of being the winner of the Golden Collar for three years in a row that once he lied Star figured he didn't deserved it and yanked it off.

Good idea GK, that can work :)
It's strange to see Star doing this...he seems more to act as a coward usually. Maybe that's the reason that scene was deleted?

Yeah, the only thing I could think of is since he saw the other dogs stand up to Steele he figured he could, or since he tried before and failed he wanted to try again.
I think it took place after they brought the medicine in and they were in the boiler room.
Just a few random thoughts.
