Hey there! I was wondering whether anyone on here also likes anime. I'm in an Anime Club at my college (I was also in one in high school), I go to anime conventions and cosplay ("costume play" or dressing up as characters), and I also draw and read manga (Japanese comics).

What about you guys? Anyone else interested in anime?

:D

I guess there are so many different shows (mainly with similar storylines and situations) or terrible English dubbings and the such that turn some people off.

Uncut DVDs rock! :D

And nowadays, there are foreign cartoons (from places other than Japan) that look like anime but aren't (like the shows and Totally Spies(French?) and Winx Club (Italian), if you've ever heard of them).

This is like an epidemic or something . . . .

Yay, there's a fan! Whee!

I sometimes wondered if animation fans are also fans of anime. That sounds about right. I mean, many creators are influenced by American cartoons and movies (like the Disney ones, for example). That's so cool!

I'm in university since three years
Anyway, I don't watch too many animes; not that I don't like them, but they don't release many in France. And I don't like to watch them in english or japanese...
I don't think Totally spies is french...even if it's aired here, it doesn't have a french look at all, and they would probably have given it a french name. I would have thought it was american...

Somewhat intrested.

Animes like DBZ kinda turns me off because the fighting scenes are cut off by "next time on DBZ..."

I haven't seen Wolf's Rain

Kenshin is my favorite, but wolf's rain comes close. I love the final episode, about paradise.

^____^ I adore anime. YuGiOh got me into it and it's still my #1 anime. I enjoy Rurouni Kenshin, too, along with Cowboy Bebop, Gundam W, Sailor Moon, F-Zero GP Legend, Sonic X (this one mainly just because I've been a die-hard Sonic fan for 11 years), Magic Knight Rayearth, and One Piece (except I can't stand Buggy). I've never seen Wolf's Rain, but a couple of my friends like it.
