Kodi is proud of being the son of balto, and his wolf heritage, alue is less so, she loves her parents but is hurt that they lied too her. She love sthem, where as Kodi love sthem, and is proud too be their son. You also noticed it in fanfictions Kodi is always proud too say Balto was his father.

He's always proud of his dad. That's what Jenna was reminding him in her song.

Maybe the wolf heritage for Kodi is just a fact or something that he inherited from the past, because he is not a wolf and he was never different from everyone else in Nome, so the heritage doesn't cause him any troubles.
Alue knows how it's like to be different from everyone else, so she doesn't like being a wolf

I think Kodi is 'proud' of his parents because Balto is the hero dog!, he saved Nome all on his own and his parents probably told him and the others about Steele and because his father is part wolf he's inherited part of his fathers speed and his dream is to be a lead dog on a sled team and his speed will help get him there.

I won't bother repeating what was already said. ^^

Well, all she cares about is going free on her own not no one else but, herself and her freeness.That's why Balto is concern about her the most then the other pups.She love to ventuer off to places and play with her friends Muk and Luk.But, yeah i mean Kodi is in Nome and Aleu is about to go lead a wolf pack it's not the some then going somewhere then staying where you belong.

But I wonder - Did Kodi ever notice that his own sister was wolf-looking? I mean, we never really saw or heard any of them talking about it ever, so I suppose Kodi's feelings about his parents are normal since he never had to deal with the struggles that his father and Aleu had (due to their wolf physique and all).

From the way I see it, Kodi loves his mother a lot (they nuzzle when you first see them together in the film and they're together in the last scene too! Watch out, Balto . . . ? XD), but you can tell he really looks up to his father, the hero (which is the focus of one of my latest fics) and he'll do anything to make sure that he follows his father's footsteps as a lead dog (not understanding how much his father cares about saving humans of course; Kodi serves them, yet at the time, he didn't realize that they are just as important for life as he was.). And by realizing that his father was right all along and being there when he was really needed made his father even more proud of him (which was what Kodi wanted to do - make Balto proud of him).
