This is another one of those no-brainer-simple-one-word topics so I would have to say...
"Yes, I could live without soda, pop, carbonated, caffinated drinks that could get you addicted to the substance."

Yeah I could but I have to admit that I do love pop, Coca Cola, Pepsi all of 'em, I know...it's almost shameful , but I do love the stuff...on the other hand there is nothing better than a nice cool apple juice on a hot day.

When I went to college (Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA...one of the few places in the U.S. where sweetened, carbonated beverages are called "pop" instead of "soda"), kids from various parts of the country used to LOVE to debate something as silly as this. And they'd debate it very passionately! (And tease each other relentlessly about it. LOL) Of course, Pittsburghers have a very interesting regional dialect (this would take a long time to explain). Being from southern New Jersey, I found their dialect, and their use of "pop" instead of "soda" to be quite amusing.
Allow me to illustrate this anther way by telling an amusing short story.
On a train ride back to my home one year, from Pittsburgh (from western Pennsylvania almost due east across that state into southern NJ), one of my friends - my roomie from school (and a native Pittsburgher) was riding along with me to visit NJ for the first time. The trains there are serviced by crews from across PA, and NJ, and Maryland. In most of Maryland, as well as two-thirds of PA and all of NJ, "pop" is "soda".
Well, anyway, at one point in this long ride (about eight hours), we got up to visit the dining car. There was a snack stand there and some tables. I ordered a couple of things, and then my friend proudly stepped up and ordered a small sandwich (forgot which kind, but it doesn't matter), and a "pop". The girl behind the counter (obviously not from a "pop" area) looked at my friend for a second, with a puzzled glance, and then smiled, held up two clenched fists, and quipped "you want a right, or a left? Ha ha ha!" Which made my friend's face turn beet red. I got a GOOOD laugh out of that! Of course, my friend was "Mr. Pittsburgh" (he was ardently in love with Pittsburgh, being a Pittsburgher, and everything about it...almost feverishly so), and started to launch into a very boring explanation as to why people are supposed to call it "pop" and not "soda". I had to yank him out of there...to the girl's very great relief!

FINALLY!! Hahaha, I thought I'd be the only pop-addict here. I love soda. No, I can't live without it. ^^ Otherwise, I'd ALWAYS be glum and I'd probably forget the meaning of the word, hyper. XD
So, I have reason to love pop. You know, water and juice sometimes just doesn't quite do the trick for me.
