Has anybody heard of this book? At first it sounded creepy, but when my friend Kalin told me the ending, I was all ears when the teacher read it. Too bad the school year ended before it could be finished. But I read a few chapters on the last day, and the day before, I read the last couple chapter with the substiture teacher.

I suppose some people want to know what it's about? It's about a city called Ember, that is, in a dark world. Seriously it's in a dark world, the only light comes from the city.

Could you tell a bit more about the book? It sounds interesing, but I don't want to get it if it's not something I should read

It's about a city underground, the only light comes from the city. Before people lived in the city, the builder's made a box with a time lock on it that would open in 200 years. It had the instructions on how to get out of the city when the great disaster on the surface was over. But information about what was outside the city was never revealed to it's inhabitants. So people beleived that they were in a dark world and the city was the only light. So that box was given to the first mayor, he wasn't told what was in it, just that it was imortant. So the box was passed down from mayor to mayor until one mayor tried to open it. The box wound up in a closet, and the mayor didn't pass it down, so nobody knew about the box. 240-some years later, the city is falling apart. The pipelines burst, and supplies is running low. Interesting? Read it.

I have the book, but I've never read it. I bought it at a book fair a few years back, but never got the chance to sit down and read it. Well, actually, I've had plenty of chances, I just haven't used them wisely.
