I plan on getting them sometime soon, it will be interesting to read about the actual event and RedFoxWolf is right, the real Balto was a Siberian husky.

One of my book says Balto was half-wolf. I believe it, too.

Most are little kids books but I have a couple that I reread a lot. Let me recommend the novel 'The Cruelest Miles' It's the greatest book and I met one of the co-authors who answered lots of questions. They know what they're talking about in it.

I knew there were Balto books but everyone ive seen is a little kids book. I mean, Balto and the Great Race, The Bravest Dog Ever, and several others. I read one book about Balto that was reasonably long and if i remember correctly, pretty good too. I think i might have been The Cruelest Miles course, when i read it i didn't know anything about Balto. I think it was like. . . .3rd or 4th grade that we read it. At that time i wasn't much of a reader. Plus, i really didn't care about whatever had gone on up in Alaska. All I can say is whatever the book was called, i read it only once. That was during school, and i didn't really care.
Didn't pay attention to it, and i remember falling asleep and drooling all over the pages 1 or 2 times.

Balto was pure husky. Universal made up his half wolf side in the movie for entertainment purposes only. Also he wasn't a stray. As opposed to being an outcast like in the movie. Alot of the things in the movie are complete fiction.
