They were meant to look that way, animators often try and get related characters to look as similar as possible without them looking like recoloured versions of one character, take Mufasa and Simba for example, how alike did grown-up Simba and Mufasa look? a lot, again because they were father and son.

true but the whole point of alues story was she looked the most like a wolf, the only thing stopping kodi from looking like a wolf is really his tail and the fact he has his mothes fur colour.

All dogs can howl even normal pets. Thats why too me wolf quest was a bit of a shamble. WOC I prefered a whole lot more.

Yeah I know but my point is that they sounded like wolves!!! Dogs don't coz my GSD howls but she certainly does'nt sound like a wolf and the whole point of WQ was Aleu was the only pup who could howl!!! A failure to stay on track has really messed the sequels up.

You have a point there, I do agree, but I still belive WQ plot was dull and unintretsing, anyway back on topic has anyone else notice dthat kodi seems too look like he has more body strength then balto.

Actually, Whitewolf, though I don't own a Siberian Husky (or any related breed), I have read much about them. And I understand huskies have a unique vocalization which is very similar to a howl...sort of a "woo woo" kind of a sound. The husky breeders and mushers refer to it as the husky "song". Supposedly it is unique to them, and is usually heard when they are happily at play, or engaged in running and sled pulling. Though I've also heard huskies will also howl from time to time...though not nearly as much as they might "sing".

Exactly! In Fact I was watching my TLK Special Edition and they discussed that dilemma during their animation.

Well, all of the dogs would be drawn in a similar way, in the style the animators used. Balto and Kodi.. I think there were scenes in which they looked similar.. but they are related so they should look a little like one another.
As for their characters/personalities.. I thought Kodi was determined and couragous like Balto he was just influenced by the other dogs on the sled team to not care about Duke. After all, Duke did try to take their jobs away.
