Hey all!! I really can't remember the last time I posted new artworks here...I suppose that's because I haven't been drawing as much as I used to. Now my pictures are even cruddier than what they used to be. XD Ah, well. I only have two pics for you peeps and chronies so far, but I PROMISE I'll draw more soon...
Of course, I have to have a dragon as one of my new pics...You all should know me by now. I actually finished this pic a long time ago (some of you might remember me using it as an avatar), but I've been making a few adustments since then.
First off, no, I don't take requests -- but this was a "special" request. Hey, anyone who catches me privately...either on the Shout Box or somewhere other than the forums or main site...can ask me to do a request for them -- of course, I can still say no, but what have YOU got to lose, huh? Anyway, this be a gift for Phantom Wolf. Evilness!! lol. Hope you like it, Phantom!!
I actually used a new coloring technique with this picture. The dragon picture uses the old technique...please tell me which you guys think is better.
Don't ask what is it with me and big moons...I just think they look pretty. XD ALL COMMENTS ARE WELCOME!! Suggestions, tips, flames, EVERYTHING!!...(Don't worry -- I don't offend easily. ^^/ )

I think both pics are fantabulous Suka! The new technique I like a bit more, because it makes the pic look more real, but I like the old technique as well!

Thanks, Shanecae!! Yeah, I kinda like the new technique as well...it's easier and faster to CG with -- but there's one big flaw. Look at the lines...

They don't bother me! I couldn't even tell until you mentioned it! But, then again, I don't even draw, or use programs for my art if I do draw something and scan it to the computer.

Black Shimmer wrote: Wowsers Suka! Those are great! I especially like the first one. Better keep your promise to draw more! Because I can't wait to see them! ^_^ I love dragons, but probably not as much as you. I tried to draw a dragon, but it looked like some kind of demented lizard. *sigh* Oh well......a doodle dragon is better than nothing, right?
lol, most definitely!! Practice makes perfect, yup? Sheesh, that's a lesson I need to learn myself. Anyway, thanks for the comment!! I WILL be drawing more, like I said -- you can make sure of that, Black Shimmer!!

Part I: A Dragon's Gen is it's Design (Say that 10 times fast.)
A lot of people ask me how I ome up with the design of my dragons. It's fairly simple. Before I begin, I write down EVERYTHING I'm a fan of. Be VERY VERY specific;
Example: The like Resident Evil... What's so interesting about Resident Evil? ...The monsters... Which monster do I like best? ... The Hunter Gamma... What's so interesting about the Hunter Gamma? ...The fact that it doesn't have any eyes. XD (end example.)
I do that for ALL my fan-isms. Knowing what features my dragons will have increases my ability to draw it correctly.
PART II: The Basics
No details -- we just want the LINE ART right now. Mesh together all the features you find interesting into your dragon. A wise and remarkable artist once told me to always start at the head, as that is the body part that throws off proportions the most.
Example: Not quite finished yet, but here's what I have: I call it, the Gamma Draco.
Parts III and IV coming soon!!
