I am writing a fanfic at the moment and I have finished the first chapter and I want you all to tell me what you think of it so far. It's about one of Balto's puppies which I named Coho and it is told in his point of view.

Chapter One

I couldn’t stand the dark as I snuggled up next to my mom. Ever since I could open my eyes and walk I was afraid of the dark. I was the only one that slept next to mom on a very dark night. My siblings weren’t afraid. In fact, they weren’t scared of as many things that I was scared of and my parents were the only ones that could keep me from screaming or crying when I was frightened.

My siblings were still awake and were giggling at me. They always did when I climbed into my mom’s basket when I should be sleeping in the other basket with them. My brother, Dingo who was the oldest in the litter was the one that picked on me the most. He stood up in the basket and laughed louder than the others.
“You’re such a scaredy pup!” he laughed waking mom up. Mom noticed I was lying next to her when she saw the others laughing.
“Stop picking on your brother!” she shouted at all of them. I new by her tone that she was sick of Dingo, encouraging the others to pick on me.
“But he is, Mama!” said Kodi who was the second oldest “Coho will never get a human for he’ll want to sleep with you all the time!” That really hurt my feelings when Kodi said that.
“But that doesn’t mean you can make fun of him! He is the youngest and you should show some respect!” said Mom who was getting angry “Now get to sleep!”

A few minutes later and me and my mom were the only ones awake. I kept thinking about what Dingo and Kodi had said and my eyes flooded with tears. I buried my face into Mom’s side and cried, making her fur wet with tears. Mom looked at me when she felt it. She licked my head.
“Don’t be scared” she whispered.
“It’s not that” I sobbed looking up at her “What if Dingo and Kodi are right?”
“They’re just being silly” she said “You’re my brave little pup”
She smiled and licked me again and lay her head down and fell asleep and so did I.
