I wouldn't exactly call it a fan fic, because it doesn't have to do with Balto but still. Heres what I have done.

Prologue
Erin Returns

Erin slowly approached her mother. Tarka was on the verge of tears at the sight of her daughter. Erin smiled and nuzzled her mothers face. Zeke stood off in the distance, patiently waiting for Erin to notice him. Erin turned and spotted her brother. She walked up to him and nudged his neck.
“Zeke.” She said, now crying, “Oh, Zeke I missed you!”
“I missed you to sis.” Zeke said gently nuzzling his sister’s neck.
Tarka came towards her daughter, beaming with joy. Erin had been missing for years, and now, here she was. Erin looked at her mother, her clear bleu eyes sparkling with happiness.
“Erin, where ever did you go?” Tarka asked.
Erin beamed at her family and launched into the tail of where she had been all these many many years…

Chapter 1
The New wolf

Thunder paced in his cage, his white fur untidy and ragged. His deep blue eyes filled with hatred towards his captures. He had heard from the other wolves that they had caught another. These fools just don’t know when to stop! He thought angrily. He stopped pacing and looked around his pen. He had been cooped up in this treeless cage for hours. When were they going to let them out? Every day in the morning they had let all the male wolves into a large running area and the females into another. He growled as he heard footsteps approaching.
“Easy there Thunder!” said a tall dark haired human, “Just got a little friend for ya today! Don’t worry, we’ll let ya out once she gets settled in.”
Thunder watched from his shelter as the man shoved a gray and white wolf into Thunders pen. By watching its body language he could tell it was scared. He approached the wolf slowly with his head slightly tilted. He stepped on a stick and her head turned around towards him. She had beautiful clear blue eyes and her tail curved slightly when she stood up. For some reason he was awe struck by her. What is wrong with me? He thought I know tones of other females and I’ve never felt this way about any of them! He shook himself and raised himself up.
“I’m Thunder. I am Alpha of this captivity center and you are to respect that! Got it?”
The wolf nodded.
“Now, what is your name?”
“Erin.” The wolf said in a small whisper.
Thunder studied her again. He had never seen a wolf like her before. Her stomach, chest, face, and the bottom of her tail were white, but the rest of her was gray. He shook his head.
“Is something wrong?” Erin said.
Man, she has a beautiful voice. “No, it’s just, I’ve never seen a breed like your before. What breed are you?”
Erin mumbled something Thunder didn’t quiet understand.
“Um, sorry, but I didn’t catch that?”
“I said, I’m a hybrid. My mothers part wolf part husky and I never knew my father. I think he was a wolf.”
Thunder chuckled.
“What?” Erin said offended, “Its not funny that I’ve never knew my father!”
“No, it’s not that. Usually a hybrid that has one hybrid parent, and one wolf parent, would look more like a wolf. Not a husky.”
“I do not look like a husky!”
“Actually, that depends. Does your mom look like a wolf?”
“No, she looks like a purebred husky.”
“Hmm. Well that might explain it. You look have the build of a husky, but all your features are that of a wolf.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, your head is that of a wolfs, the same with your paws. You tail is bushy like a wolfs, but curves like a huskies.”
Erin looked herself up and down and then smiled, wagging her beautifully arched tail. She looked at Thunder with her clear blue eyes. She looked away quickly blushing slightly. Thunder felt his own cheeks warm. Their silence was broken by the sound of scratching on metal.
“What’s that?”
“Kipo.”
“Who?”
“Come over here.”
Thunders lead Erin over to a small metal grate in the floor of the shelter. Straw covered most of it, but with a quick flick of his tail he swept it all away. A black wolf looked back at them. He had a small dot on his forehead and he gave a small pant when he saw Thunder.
“Hey Thunder.” He spoke in quick short tones. He voice tired sounding, “They’re, starting to let us out now. Do you know why we were kept, in longer?”
“Yeah,” Thunder gestured to Erin by his side, “Newbie.”
“Oh. Hey, how ya doing?” He asked Erin not waiting for a reply, “Names Kipo. Well, Got to go. My pens up next.”
Then he disappeared from view. Splashes could be heard down the tunnel. Erin looked at Thunder with a puzzled expression on her face. Thunder swept the straw back over the grate and sighed.
“Underneath our pens is this passageway. It connects to every room and pen in this place. The only problem is that it doesn’t lead outside. We mainly use it for communication. It was supposed to be for air, but it broke down about a year ago.”
“Oh.”
“But, there is one room, that has the grate in the middle of one of their offices. Its really beautiful. I’ll show it to you sometime, if you want?”
Erin and Thunder locked eyes for the second time that day. She bent he head down a little and Thunder twitched his ears forward. Slowly their noses grew closer and closer together. They were about to touch, when a loud scraping noise caused them to jump apart. Both swung their gazes towards a man who had two leashes in his hand, both with collars.
“Come on you two.” He said, “Time to let you out.”

Thats it. Sorry its so short. Usually what I right is really long.

Thanx guys! I'm done with Chapter 2, so here it is! Hope you like it.

Chapter 2
More like your father

Erin huddled in a corner of a large pen. She didn’t like being around so many females at once. She let an involuntary growl emerge from her throat as a black wolf approached her. She had a white star on her chest and one green eye and one brown eye. The strange wolf stopped as soon as Erin started growling.
“What are you growling at me for?” The wolf snapped.
Erin stopped growling and cocked her ears forward slightly. Her blue eyes gazed at the wolf, filled with curiosity, but fear. The black wolf cocked her head to one side.
“You’re new here aren’t you?” She said slightly nicer than before.
Erin jut nodded.
The wolf smiled, “Well let me be the first to introduce myself. My name is Ginger.”
“I’m Erin. And you’re the second wolf I’ve met.”
“Really? Oh, of course, your pen mates. Whose pen are ya in?”
“Thunders.”
Ginger frowned, “Oh my dear. I’m sorry. Has he talked to you about his ‘plans’ yet?”
Erin slowly stood up and cocked her head. Ginger gasped. Her eyes grew wide and her mouth hung open.
“Oh my Lupin. You look like a husky!”
Erin looked behind her and saw that, once again, she had curled her tail up over her back. It wasn’t touching, but it still looked like a huskies.
“Oh. Yeah. I’m part husky, on my mothers side.” She gave a weak smile towards Ginger, “At least, partially husky. My father was a wolf though.”
Ginger shrugged and motioned with her head behind her, “Why don’t ya come over her with my friends. They’ll give you a proper welcome.”
Erin reluctantly followed Ginger towards a small group of wolves. She glanced around the enclosure and saw the males’ side. Near the fence dividing the two, was a large rock that protruded out from the ground. Lying down on top of the rock was Thunder. He held his head high and his ears forward.
Ginger noticed Erin watching Thunder. She gave a small chuckle and called out, “Hi ya Thunder!”
Thunder looked over at Ginger and Erin. When he spotted Erin, his ears went even straighter and he almost stood up. His eyes were fixed on her even as his ear twitched to listen to something else.
“Hmm. Now, that I’ve never seen before.” Ginger said.
“What’s that Ginger?”
They had arrived at the small group of wolves. There was a black wolf with a stripe running down her face, a white wolf with a black stripe running down her face, and a tan colored wolf with dark brown paws, muzzle, and the end of her tail. This wolf also had a tail that curved upwards. Erin couldn’t imagine why this wolf would be in here. She looks more like a husky than I do!
“Look at Thunder.” Ginger told the other wolves.
They all looked over at Thunder, who now had his head on his paws still looking at Erin. Erin glanced at him and noticed a far off kind of look in his eyes.
“Girl what did you do to him?” The white wolf asked Erin.
They all laughed at this remark. Erin didn’t know what was so funny, but apparently it must have been some type of inside joke.
“This is Erin. Erin this is Molly,” The black wolf nodded, “Grace,” the white wolf nodded, “And Thia.” The tan wolf nodded. Erin nodded in return. Thia cocked her head at Erin.
“What blood do you have in you?” she asked.
“Huh?”
“What your blood line.”
“Oh, my moms part husky, part wolf. And my dad was a wolf.”
“Thought so. Small world isn’t it?”
“You’re a hybrid?”
“Indeed. Though, might say I have more husky than wolf in me.” Thia smiled and wagged her tail a little, “Do you have any siblings?”
“Yeah, a brother. His name is Zeke. Mother says he looks like father. Actually before I was caught we got into an argument over it.”
“What was it about?” “He claimed he was more like father because he looked like a wolf, but I said he was more like mother because of his fur. I’d rather not explain it all.”
“I understand. What colors your father?”
“Um…I don’t know. He was killed before I was born, but Zeke is black.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry, for your loss. Now you say Zeke is black?”
“Yes, with some white around his face.”
“A huh. And what color is your mother?”
“She looks like a black Alaskan Malamute.”
“My dear, you mother has it all wrong. If Zeke is black, your mother is black, and, because Zeke ‘looks’ like him, your father would have had to be black to. So don’t you think that…?”
“I would be black.”
Thia nodded, “Yup. But you’re not, so that means that your father was gray dear. You are more like your father.”
Erin wagged her tail happily. Thia smiled and looked over at Thunder. He had his ears forward and was still looking at Erin. Thia sighed and looked back at Erin.
“Has he told you about his plans?” She said
“Huh? What plans?”
“Oh! You’re sharing a pen with him? He has the best way into the tunnels. Of course, he would have to. Can’t have any complications with getting to his ‘secret plans’ now, can he?” Molly laughed after she said this. The others joined, leaving Erin by herself. Silent.
“What are you talking about?” She asked again.
“So he hasn’t told you about his escape plans?” Grace asked with raised eyebrows.
Erin shook her head, “No, but he did mention something about the tunnels not leading outside.”
“Well, Erin.” Molly said, “He’s going to bring you down into the tunnel one of these days and show you something he calls ‘A beautiful room’. Instead he’ll show you escape plans that involve him escaping and you being left behind.”
“Of course none of them have ever worked,” Grace continued, “However, I still don’t know why he’s looking at you that way. He could just be daydreaming about his new scheme!”
The other wolves burst out laughing and continued to make jokes at Thunder. Erin looked over her shoulder at him. His head had come up after seeing them look at him and then laugh. A worried and confused look crossed his face. Erin waited until his gaze landed on her. When it did she threw him a dirty look and turned to catch up with the others who had started to walk away.
