I understand what you're saying there,I saw a BIG spam by Saltash,saying "I R LIKE DOG SEX" And plus he's mod on SHoutbox.I don't what would be a good problem solver.But removing it people won't be able to chat,unless they use PM on forums or site.

No, I would surely not remove them, they are an important part of the site. It is the only part where you can talk to people directly, it's not the same goal as a forum and so it can't be replaced.

But, I will make it so that only registered people can talk on there. This will prevent a lot of problems, of course not all but it will help.

Yes, as long as we can't steal usernames and registered users can post there, then I'm guessing that most of the problems will be solved. I'm just hoping that none of the guests register on the site so they can continue to spam the shoutbox..

I would'nt get rid of the Shoutbox, many people like to talk there and PMs are'nt the best way to talk but if you don't have IM (like me) then you have to use PM to talk to friends but eventhough there are a lot of problems I'm geussing that guests are the main root of them, guests would'nt respect the rules like members would and probably have'nt read them, I think it would be a bad move for the site to remove them.

More people are on the shout boxs then anywhere else, so it would be very un wise to remove it.

I agree with Steet, I think the shoutbox is an imprtant part of the site. It's not the boxe's fault that the speakers need to shape up, so we just need some mods to go there and actually INFORCE the rules

Let's be real; most of the problems on the forums DO seem to originate from something that happened in the Shout Box. But the Shout Box is also a way for Balto fans (Erm...most Balto fans) to communicate with eachother without having to go through the hastle of registering on the forums. Getting rid of the shout box would leave a lot of people in a riot, thus dissolving the popularity of the site. I don't visit the RP box, so I can't say whether or not it's a different issue.

Maybe you can't make the shout boxes go away, but maybe it's you that needs to just stay away. There are people who spend ALL DAY LONG on the shout box (Believe it or not). But really, if it gets to you so much, then maybe you should just stop going there altogether.

I agree with Whitewolf (uk). Geusts definatly were using the shout box. although, having it so that regestered members can only use it has seemed to help. Plus, with PMs if you want to talk to someone, and their not on, you may not get an answer until a week later. Shoutboxes just seem better to me.

If there isn't a technical problem with the shout boxs then its a members fault for the problem because the shout box cannot be a problem, its the people who use it in a immature way, like abusing its privliges, so you can't blame the box for problems.

But you can say problems origanate from there and thats about it.
