You earn more points each time you post, so they're always changing.

I know, I'm saying that in the same moment it says two different numbers.

That's because to save bandwith, most of the content displayed on the site is "cached". (which means there is no access to the database, but to already recorded files) And this is often an old version. The cache is refreshed every 7 days for the comment I think.
The real number is the one displayed when you edit your profile.
