I HATE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even go read "The true story" link under the Balto 1 section on the left of the main page! I can't even go to any fan section or the articles, either! What the heck could parental controls have against Balto Source? It makes no sense!!!! Does anyone else have these problems? I wish I wasn't alone on this...

I used to have the same troubles but they are no more with my new internet connection. Plus I had a set up that sent an e-mail to my parents about everything I did while online and I'd always ask "why do you need to know every site i visit if there are controls set up to prevent me from going on any site deemed inaproppriate?"

Ooh, that sucks, I don't have any parental controls on my PC, my mum trusts me not to and I don't want to, my bro is'nt allowed on though, he's got a sick mind.

Parental controls are nessacery I suppose but you could ask your parents to lighten them up a bit. Tell them that they should check the topics here first if they're unsure, just to check.

The reason it probably won't let you acsess those parts of the site is maybe there are minor swear words there or something? I don't know but asking your parents might be a solution.

Well, actually, they might increase them if they could because they don't like me being on this forum too much because it's "talking to strangers" I think that it blocks out the fan section because it thinks that people who do fan art or write fan fics could have sick minds... not that those would get through the moderators anyway, but come on, it doesn't have to block the roleplaying shoutbox! This isn't a site that sickos get on, so really there shouldn't be anything to worry about. I better stop before I start rambling on about this. I don't want people to think I just complain about this kind of stuff.

I don't have parental controls on my computer, thankfully. My parents trust me not to download anything stupid or that has a virus in it. Sure, children hate parental controls, but just think about all the good things it does for you.

I used to have parental controls...I couldn't even get on searches. I got Internet Explorer and I don't have to deal with it anymore.

I have parental controls too. Even if it is something completely harmless I want to look at then it tells me to get prmission from my parents so I have to ask my mum to type in her password to let me on or I just have to leave it if I don't want to bother her!!!! Parental controls are stupid!!!

I have them.
I asked my dad to alter them and he did.
I can view anything and everything but if they freeze or shut down by mistake, I can't use the internet. And I have a two hour limit. Per day.

We have a thing called BeSafe Online. It blocks many things. To many things. One time it went nuts and even blocked neopets and the word jelly. It blocks youtube, talking cat videos, and many more.

Well, I would understand that it blocks the shout boxes, but the "true story" page? There's nothing bad at all in it.
Maybe you could talk to your parents so that they configure it, so that they could give you access to the whole site. Just show them these pages when they're with you.
I'm trying all I can to make this a safe place. (but I can't have eyes everywhere unfortunately)

I gotta say I feel your pain everyone, when I was in high school their stupid filter blocked so many legitimate sites it was unreal. I'd have a talk with your parents to see if they'd lighten up.......you could also try an alternative browser like Firefox which may or may not work depending on the filter and how it's setup, although I don't really condone going against your parents wishes but I thought I'd just put that out there.
