This is probably classed as off topic and all, I apologize for that.

But anyway, I recently watched 'Enemy at the gates' and couldn't help but think that the soundtrack sounded familiar. After watching Balto again I realized that one of the backing tracks sounded just like the soundtrack in this film. Its most obvious in the scene with Balto and the white wolf. Has anyone seen this film and thought this?

Just out of interest.

The reviews for the CD on Amazon noted this same thing, and that James Horner tends to use similar music for different movies. I guess that's why I heard something that souded similar to the white wolf scene during Apollo 13. Speaking of Apollo 13, it's an interesting coincidence that the movie also has Kevin Bacon as one of the main characters.

Yes James Horner also re-uses this in some stances of Titanic as well.

According to Wikipedia, the first track on the Balto soundtrack did win some kind of award... I'll look it up.

EDIT: I checked, and yes, the first track of the Balto soundtrack won a Grammy Award.

I thought Enemy at the Gates was a great film.. as is Balto. And I love the soundtrack.

I was watching Apollo 13 last night and the music at the beginning of the crdits sounds like 'Balto Brings the Medicine'! And the music when they splash down sounds like some music from Titanic.

hmm... i never really picked up on that, , having seen both movies a few time (ok, ok, so maybe more than a 'few' time for Balto :P) and never picked up onit, but i did pick up on a kinda simmilarity between the chase theme in POTC and the stampede theme in TLK, somehow, dunno, sounds kinda samey to me :P

EDIT:

oh wait, i was thinking of enemy at the gates **smack in the head** never mind me...
