Ok I had an idea because I noticed so many topics are spam and are in wrong places and some need more of an explaination, or examples, so heres my Idea.


My idea is why not have a Buddy thing where Newbies can be asigned to people with more experance here and with diffrent things and fetures on this site/forum have and there buddy can ask there Mentor for help about something or on something, like if they need to know how to do something, they can just ask there mentor for help, or say if they don't know how to put something in the context they want, they can ask there Mento for help.

I think its a good idea but what do you think?

Maybe, but it would be too much complex to organize. But I will probably make a "ask questions" page on the site so that people can ask their questions and the visitors could answer directly.
Offtopic but do you know that animated avatars and sigs are not allowed? It's very disturbing to see an animation when you want to read a text.

Wow...I actually like this idea. It helps the newbies not feel so nervous here and it ensures that they all know what to do. Although it may be a bit hard to organize, it does sound like a very good idea.

Why doesn't there be an anouncment and Steet can ask a few members or any he wants to ask, to see if they wouldn't mind being a mentor, and if some say yes put in that anouncment the names of those willing to be mentors and then beside the names have there newbies names?

Or put something in there sig or somewhere on there postest that says this person is my mentor and the mentor can have this is my newbie and have each others names on each others posts and profile.

If people can handle more then one then they just have to help more then one.

Also a certin Rank can allow you to become a mentor aswell, like say once you reach a certin rank you can be a mentor if you want, but its all up to Steet, so we will just need to wait for his answer^^

See told ya and it would be a great help to all of the newbies to feel more secure and it will help them with alot of things^^

Yes it is hard : I would have to ask people regularly for a new list of volunteers.
And many people register on the site but not everyone is an active member. (around 20 new members every day)

No, I think I'll stick with the "ask your questions" page, after all it will do the same goal but easier to manage.

BTW, Ecliptica, you still haven't changed your sig. Sorry but I really don't like animations when I'm reading text.

It does sound like a very good idea, there are loads of topics with people asking how to do certain things that are locked because they're pointless and waste space in the section.

Good idea but with 20 new members everyday not easy to do, maybe post a list of people to ask for help and the new members can PM one of them and ask, also have a tutorial on how to PM in the same topic, it would probably have to be a sticky topic though.

Well I, on the other hand, must protest. How do you think the "Newbies" would feel about this? If I were new here, and had a buddy assigned to me, honestly, I'd get a little offended. What if they don't need (or want) someone to watch their every move? Ya gotta admit; it would be a bit of an annoyance. Oh yeah, and BTW, some people are also offended when being called a "Newbie". Think about what you say -- word to the wise.

True...but hey, it's the truth if we were to call them that. What's the worst they could do? xD

I, personally, am tired of "newbies" making topics and asking how to put avatars up or how to put an image in a signature. I just think that this would be a good idea so that we can stop topics like that.

I agree,they make it sound very hard to do,when it's a very simple thing to do.

That's a good idea. Maybe they wouldn't be offended if we said something other than "n00b" or "newbie".
