Okay, I wasn't too sure where to put this, so I just put it here since I need to ask a question.
Right, now to the real subject; I'm writing a book called 'The Lunar Children' that basically is about my wolf character....but there need to be more wolves in it........so I was wondering if three people could let me use their charatcers as also one of the main characters in the book(s). Here's a sample from the book:
"But," Luntione stammered, "it didn't seem like it was going to hurt me."
"That's the idea!" Rimkia whispered even more angrily at her, "That's what they want you to think, but they will hurt you! Actually, it won't hurt you, it'll kill you! With one hit! Ugh I can't beleive you guys can't remember the story mom told us!" Rimkia was getting dfrustrated with his ignorant siblings and looked like he was about to attack them byt he tone of his voice, but Tumak made the pup think twice.
"Shh!" he snapped at Rimkia and Lunitone, "It's coming!" All three of them crouched down low, their bellies touching the ground. Lunitone squinted her eyes, trying to see through the little opening at the bottom of the bush where the light from the sun leaked through. She stared at the spot for a long time until she heard heavy footsteps coming toward them. In fear, she held her breath and kept completly still, afraid it would smell or hear the tiniest thing. The light from the opening disappeared as a leather figure blocked the rays from the bush. The leather object stayed there for a long time, until it turned around and lumbered back from where it came from. Unsure if it were a trick or not, the pups stayed in the bush until the sun started to set. Rimkia and Tumak were the ones to creep out of the bush cautiously and go towards the rock pile while Lunitone stayed in the bush, breathing slowly and still staring at the spot the leather thing appeared.
"Lun?" Tumak poked his head back into the bush for his sister. She didn't answer. "Me and Rimkia are going back to the den, you coming?" no reply came from his sister, "Okay, come back to the den in the morning 'kay?" the pup still didn't answer her brother's words. He shrugged and pulled his head out of the bush and ran back up the rock pile to the den. Lunitone's heart was pounding faster than ever with fear. When she smelled the leather she remembered the story her mother told her of the two-legged demons Rimkia was talking about. She remembered dreams of them finding and killing her and her family with their boom sticks and hunting pets, searching for her, always searching to kill her.
She whimpered herself to sleep and a dream of her mother telling the story of the demons enveloped her mind and thoughts.
If you want to enter your character in the book(s), then, I know this is the most common thing but it's unfair just to pick the first three people, draw a book cover (just the front) for the book. The one's who win 1st 2nd and 3rd place will be in the book(s). The deadline will be July 8, 2006. Thanks. (by the way, if you want to, you may add your character into the book cover too!)
The Other Main Characters:
(My character, drawing of her can be found in my art gallery, Ramoth) Lunitone- A She-wolf who lost her family at eight weeks old and was taken in by an old wolf named Reynald. She is a tan wolf with a brown splotch on her chest. Her left eye is grey and blind with two scars and her right eye is red and yellow. She has two scars on her muzzle and two scars on each cheek that both go horizontal and vertical.
Reynald- A ten year old wolf who took Lunitone in when her family was killed by wolverines. His fur is completly gray and his right eye has a long scar over it, closing his eye shut. His other eye is green. This guy is a veteran at fighting and has become a rogu wolf and trains Lunitone how to live on her own.
Rimkia- One of Lunitone's brothers. A tan wolf with a brown tipped tail, his name means 'trickster.' His right eye is a blueish redish color and the other is a normal wolf eye, completly yellow except for the pupil. Wolverines killed him.
Tumak- The last of Lunitone's brothers. He's a brown wolf with tan tipped ears. Eyes are brown and his name means 'sniffer.' Also killed by wolverines.
Tilania- Lunitone's mother. A pretty tan wolf with blueish redish eyes. Was killed by the wolverines.
Jukula- Lunitone's father. A brown wolf with yellow eyes. He was shot by a hunter before the others in his family were killed, other than Lunitone.
Radikin- Two years older than Lunitone, this wolf is all about brute force to kill his enemies human or not. He is a brown and pale wolf with a left blue eye and right brown eye. He is the leader of the pack Lunitone meets with, and he is one of the few survivors of the old pack.
There's the character list, and this is going to end up to be a series, so if your character doesn't show up in the first one, it'll show up in the second one. Oh, and you only need to make a book cover for the FIRST book. Good Luck to evryone!
Saun.

So you guys know what the begining of the book is like, I'll post the first 5 chapters; here goes:
Chapter One: Barely Escaped
"Run, run! They've come; they've come to kill us!" the elder of the wolves screamed to his pack.
"No!" commanded a younger male wolf, "We shall stay and fight! Lunairia did not create us to be cowards!" Some of the wolves stayed with the young male, while the rest fled. The fleeing wolves yipped and whined in fear and pain as they listened to their bretheren being slaughtered by man. One couple, a tan female and dark brown male, seperated from the rest, and ran as fast as they could down a hill and into the creek below. As they started to cross the creek, they heard the thunderous sounds of gunshots going off, and the yelps of the rest that fled with older male as they were killed.
"Keep moving Tilania," the brown male urged his mate, "They'll catch us if we stop."
"I'm tired though Jukula," the tan wolf, Tilania whined, "You know I tire easily now," the she-wolf glanced quickly at her stomach, and the dark brown male, Jukula, understood.
"I know," he urged, nudging Tilania's shoulder softly towards the other side of the creek, "But for their sake, keep moving, or they shall never see Lunairia or Sulanei."
The two wolves crossed the creek and up the other side of the hill, and looked at their once wonderful home. Their territory was guarded by many trees of all sorts, and in the middle of it all, a large clearing of green grass and a lake. There was also a large enough cave for the whole pack to stay in. Their pack was different from the other wolf packs, they let any female have pups, and not just the alpha. But ever since Radikin, the young wolf who ordered the others to stand and fight, killed one of the man's dogs, they were hunted down. Finally, the men have found their den, and slew most of the wolves of their pack. Tilania and Jukula were the only wolves, that they knew of right now, that survived the slaughter. The two continued on through the bush and tree maze of the forest. Jukula looked up and saw the sun was setting, and the sky was colored a blood red color.
"Sulanei knows what has happened," he mumbled, "He has taken the spilt blood of our dead members, and has spread it across the sky for everyone to see. He knows now that us, the children of Lunairia, are becoming weak, and are being used for sport. Let us hope he doesn't send the Usuril clan upon us this night," and he trotted up next to Tilania's side and walked with her far away from their dead forest.
They walked on until Tilania could not go on much further. They were about ten miles away from their old territory and needed a new one. They stopped at a nearby river that was as black as the moonless sky above them, and drank its contents. The water was so cold and wonderful and was as fresh as a deer fawn's blood. They drank their fill and laid down next to the sandy river bank to rest. Their full bellies weakened some of their hunger and stregthened their drowziness. Tilania placed her head on her paws and closed her heavy eyelids, and immediately feel asleep. Jukula, was about to do the same thing, but he remembered the humans, and faught the tiredness in his eyes.
Soon, he gave in and rested his head on his mate's neck and feel asleep with her.
When Jukula awoke, it was morning and Tilania was still asleep. He sighed in relief that they survived the night without anything finding them. He stood up and stretched out, arching his back with his snout high in the air. He shook his fur and sniffed the air for any danger. Nothing. He nudged Tilania's cheek softly enough to wake her up. Her blue and red eyes appeared from the opening eyelid and she stared at him. She smiled tiredly and got up too, strectching out and shaking her fur. They both took a quick drink of water and walked on, hoping to find a new home. They walked through a dense forest. The floor was dotted with wild flowers, and little streams of sunlight were piercing through the tree leaves above their heads. They finally came to an opening where a large open field stretched out for miles. It was like the one at their old territory, but bigger. Jukula looked around, and sniffed to see if it was clear. As he looked left, he saw some rocks, and soon a mountain about five miles away from the field.
He trotted across the field with Tilania at his heels, toward the mountain. Once he arrived, the way was blocked by a six story high rock slide pile. Some of the rocks were jagged and sharp, but the rest were round, flat, and easy to walk on. He placed his front paw on one stone, and climbed upward. He turned and looked at his mate.
"Follow every step I take Tilania," he ordered, "I'll choose the easier route up so you don't slip."
Tilania nodded and followed his every step. If he jumped to one rock, she jumped to the same rock when he was out of the way. After climbing five stories of rocks, they looked up upon a solid rock wall in their way. In between them and the wall, was a thrity foot deep trench with rocks at the bottom. Whether the rocks were sharp or not neither of them could tell, all they knew was that no one would survive the fall.
"Lets go back Jukula," Tilania begged, looking at her mate's disappointed look, "We can always find another place to live," but he wouldn't buge. He looked left, then right. Jukula smiled in happiness and success. Tilania looked at what he was smiling at, and saw a long chunk of thick rock laying across their side of the trench, all the way to the top of the wall, serving as a bridge. Jukula leapt from rock to rock in happiness towards the rock bridge, and Tilania leapt also a few times, and then walked the rest of the way. Jukula placed one paw on the rock bridge and put all his weight onto that paw, seeing if the bridge would hold. He jumped on the bridge, and walked slowly to the middle and stood there. Tilania whined in worry, and laid her ears back against her head.
"It's alright Tilania," Jukula said, walking back to her and jumping off, "It'll hold. You go first."
Tilania climbed up onto the hunk of stone slowly, and stood up hesitantly. She walked forward slowly, one paw after the other, and got to the other side. Jukula then got on the bridge and trotted over to the other side without hesitation, and jumped down next to her.
"One more story to go," he smiled at her, and she sighed in grief.
"May we rest for a while?" Tilania asked, panting as her tongue hung out to the side.
"Sure, why not?" he replied, laying down on a rock next to his mate. She laid down also, and breathed heavily from exhaustion. She looked up at the blue sky and stared at the white fluffly clouds and remembered what their old pack would do on days like this. They would play, lay next to the lake, and hunt for big game. Hunt. That thought suddenly came to her and she looked at Jukula.
"What're we going to do for food?"
Jukula's eyes widened with rememberence, and his ears lowered in sadness. He had forgotten all about food since they were looking for a safer place to be.
"I'm not sure," he admitted, "Maybe there's some game in the forest, hopefully," he got up and jumped to a rock and looked at Tilania, "We better get going now," and he climbed over more rocks, with Tilania following him every step of the way. Jukula jumped from one rock to another, and found a flat stone floor in front of him about three miles wide and long. The stone platue had a short and chubby rock near the edge of the cliff that was large enough for a wolf or two to sit on and look at the field below. There was also a cave in the wall of the mountain at the other end of the platue. It would serve as a home for him and Tilania until they get rested up.
"Guess we'll rest here for tonight," he said, trotting up to the cave and sniffing it, "The cave seems to be abandoned, so we'll have no trouble with intruders, hopefully," he added.
Tilania walked into the cave first and layed down upon the dirt ground in relief. Her paws ached from the climbing and walking; and so she licked her tired muscles to relax them, and she went to sleep eagerly with her head on her paws. Jukula looked at her and smiled. Her stomach grew bigger everyday, and it wouldn't be too long before the puppies arrived. he sat down next to her sleeping form and sat guard, in case any wolverines came in to claim the cave as their own.
"One territroy falls," Jukula mumbled to himself, "and another is born; and so is life."
Chapter Two: Prey for the Pack
The next morning, after getting his sleep, Jukula went out to look for any sign of food for Tilania and himself. He'd been searching for quite some time before he came across the scent of deer. He followed the scent, with ears laying on his head, and his body in a straight line to make himself less visible. He stopped at a bush and heard the grunts bellows of two bucks fighting for territory. He sneaked closer for a better look and saw the two deer. One was a jouvinile, with only ten points on his antlers, while the other was more older with fifteen points on his antlers. The younger one bleated at the older one and pawed at the ground with its hooves. The second bleated back, accepting the challenge, and also pawed at the ground, swaying his head back and forth to show off its antlers. Both deer reared slightly and raised their heads, and in an instant, both of their antler pairs collided with one another, making a loud clang noise. They pushed eachother with their antlers still locked together in a tangled mess, and grunted at the effort each had to make. Then, the younger deer raised one hoof high in the air, and had it crash down upon the other's shoulder forcefully. The older of the two bellowed in pain, and his opponent pushed him back forcefully, sending the older back falling on his rump. The jouvinile charged and rammed its antlers into his opponent's exposed chest, causing the old deer to bleed.
The wounded deer grunted and bellowed in pain as the younger one jammed its antlers deeper into its opponent's chest. Finally, the young deer released its victim and bleated loudly in victory. The older one staggered up to his feet and limped away blindly into the forest. Jukula followed the deer closely and silently, waiting for it to lie down somewhere. Finally, all his patience paid off, and the wounded deer collapsed to the ground and breathed heavily. Jukula walked up slowly to the deer and stopped five feet away from its back. Then he leaped over the deer and, turning around quickly, bit onto its neck forcefully. The deer grunted in pain and surprise, but made no move to fight the wolf off. It knew he was dead anyway, and that fighting would just make the pain worse.
Jukula shifted his grip lower on the deer's neck, searching for one of the life giving veins that'll kill the deer. Finally, he came to a small lump in the deer's throat and bit down harder; and then he heard a very faint pop, and the deer finally went limp. Jukula released his grip and his muzzle, and the deer's neck, were smothered in blood, almost making it seem like he were wearing a mask. The deer's blood flowed gracefully from the neck to the green grass like a small stream. He tore at the deer's neck, ripping it to bite size pieces for him to eat. After he filled himself, Jukula bit onto one of the dead deer's hind legs and dragged it to the large plains, leaving a trail of blood, and then to the rock slide pile. He thrust his head forward forcefully and let go of the deer leg, sending the body flying and landing on a rock. Some blood spat out and dripped on the rocks. He continued this technique until he got to the bridge; there he shoved the carcass onto the bridge, and getting in fron of it and biting onto on if the deer's front legs, dragged it across the stone bridge. He continued to throw the deer body until he got to the platue, where he howled for Tilania to come out and see what he brought. Tilania peeked out of the cave, and as soon as she saw the deer carcass, she ran to Jukula and nuzzled him gratefully.
"So there is food in that forest?" she asked, eating her share of the deer eagerly.
"Yes," jukula replied laying down, "It's just getting the food up here that's a problem."
"I would have to agree," Tilania said, gulping down a chunk of meat, "Well, I looked at the plain from the rock at the edge of the platue, and found that there are other wolves here. I couldn't tell if they were all of the same pack, but they seemed to have been having a good time. They were running, and wrestling, just like our old pack would do. Plus, there's a lake near here in the plains just a few yards away from our rocks." she informed him happfully.
"Were the other wolves in a pack?" Jukula asked.
"Not from what I could tell Jukula, no," she told him, eating a chunk of meat from the deer's hind leg.
"Then we're better off staying here." he concluded, and layed down next to his mate. The sun warming their fur, and the wind blowing softly, just enough to blow their fur back peacefully.
"This place is so peaceful," Tilania whispered as she closed her eyes smiling, "We should stay here, even when the puppies do come."
"I'll stay where you stay my love," he nuzzled her behind the ears happily, and groomed her head.
"What shall we name our pups when they are eight weeks old?" Tilania asked, looking at the tops of the trees of the forest.
"When we find out their personaility," Jukula answered, "For now, let us rest. Lunairia has blessed us with this new place, so lets enjoy it while we can."
Tilania nodded and smiled in agreement. They both laid their heads down and took a nap in the warm sun rays of the day.
Chapter Three: Puppies
The moon was full and it seemed every star was out. The stars looked like little eyes, looking down upon the field, lake, forest, and rock slide pile. But, to Jukula, all of the stars and the moon were watching what was happening in the cave den. Tilania was having the pups. Jukula waited outside while Tilania moaned and whined in pain as the pups came out of here. It seemed like hours before he heard Tilania's whining stop, and the wimpers of newborn pups begin. Jukula walked cautiously to the cave entrance, not wanting to make Tilania uncomfortable, and yipped to her. She yipped back, and he walked in towards her. He sat down behind her and looked over her shoulder and saw three pups nursing on her. One girl and two boys. One boy was all brown, like Jukula, except for the tan tipped ears. The other boy was had a brown tail while the rest of his body was tan. The girl was all tan, exactly like Tilania, but when the girl rolled onto her back from the tan tipped boy, she had a brown spot on her chest. Jukula smiled anyway, and nuzzled his mated happily.
"Lets just hope they live strong lives." Tilania said, breaking their silence.
"They will," Jukula replied, watching the pups going to sleep on one another, "What shall we name them?"
"Jukula!" Tilania snapped at him in astonishment, and in a whisper as to not wake the now sleeping pups, "You know we cannot name the pups until they are six weeks old!"
"I know," he said smiling, "The old tridition, naming pups at eight weeks old, so that way you know their true personality; but we should at least think up of the names when the time comes."
"Guess you're right," Tilania said, smiling.
"Get some rest for now dear," Jukula said, nuzzling his mate behind her cheek bone, "You've had a long day."
Tilania nodded in agreement and chuckled amusingly. She layed her head down on her paws and closed her eyes, sleeping imideatley.
Chapter Four: A Demon.
By the time the pups were eight weeks old, they had already developed their own personalities. The brown pup with the tan tipped ears, had brown eyes like an oak tree and had a nose that could smell a deer herd from a mile away. He was named Tumak, meaning 'The sniffer.' The tan male with the brown tipped tail, had one blueish and redish eye, like Tilania, and the other eye was all yellow, except for the pupil; this pup was always looking for a short cut instead of going the long way, and was always thinking of a trick. As a result, he was named Rimkia, meaning 'Trickster.' The last pup, the female who was all tan with the brown spot on her chest, was the most unusual of the three. She had one eye where the outer part was yellow, but the pupil and colored part was red like the sun; and her left eye was completley grey like the moon. When the pup complianed to Tilania that she couldn't see out of that eye, Tilania and Jukula knew she was born blind and they could not fix it. So, they just told her to get used to it. Plus, the girl pup wasn't strongest or the fastest, but so far, she was the smartest of the siblings. So, Tilania and Jukula named her Lunitone, meaning, 'The moon and sun.'
Tumak, Rimkia, and Lunitone were always wrestling with eachother or just climbing on the rocks. One of them have there own little adventures everyday; whether it's finding a bug, almost getting pricked by a porcupine, or tyring to howl the robin's newest afternoon melody. The pups could barely sleep when they were in the middle of a game. They would always whisper about what they did that day, and they would trott, continuing the game they were playing. But then Tilania would wake up and tell them to go back to sleep, ending their fun.
Now, today was the perfect day for the pups to romp around the rocks by the rock bridge. Jukula was out hunting, and Tilania was taking a nap in the cave, knowing the pups would be fine for now. Tumak was the first to reach the tip of the rock bridge, his tail wagging uncontrolably as he waited for his sister and brother to catch up. Rimkia jumped off the rock he was on and landed next to his brother. The two of them looked at their struggling sister, trying to see which rock was where with her good eye.
"C'mon Lunitone!" Rimkia called to his sister impatiently, "You're slower than a turtle!"
"I'm going as fast as I can," Lunitone mumbled shyly. She placed one paw on the edge of a very round rock, and lost her footing. The pup felt her body lurch forward slightly, but she placed the paw that slipped onto the closest rock in front of her firmly, regaining her balence. A loud crack of laughter broke into the air and she looked at her laughing brothers rolling on their backs hysterically. She sneered at them angrily, baring her teethinside of her muzzle.
Lunitone brought all four of her paws onto one rock as close together as she could get them. Crouching down, she looked at her still laughing brothers, and a small flame of anger lighted inside of her gut. Her ears layed across the top of her head, her rump stuck up toward the sky, and with a deep breath, she pushed off of the rock with her back feet. Her body was out straight like a line, her eyes looking at the spot next to Rimkia. That was her target. Her front paws touched the ground first with much force, then her back paws touched the stone ground as well and she trotted forward after the landing. The laughing brothers stopped, and looked at their sister wide-eyed. The little she-wolf panted heavily in shock as her heart pounded loudly in her chest from the exciting jump.
Rimkia smirked and stood up, hiding his astonishment of his sister's accomplishment. "Let's keep going," he ordered his siblings. He walked down the rock bridge and continued talking, not looking back at them, "I want to get to the bottom of the rock pile before we have to eat again." Lunitone hesitated as she neared the bridge, as fear of falling off envoloped her mind.
"You go first Lun," Tumak said to her from behind, sensing her fear, "I'll be right behind you incase you fall," he smiled at her and she smiled back, looking at the bridge in front of her. Taking a deep breath, she walked slowly across the rough bridge, holding her breath as she walked. She could hear her Tumak walking slowly behind her just as he said he would.
Lunitone looked for Rimkia on the bridge but saw no trace of him. Probably went on ahead of us, she thought to herself and continued her worried treck across the bridge. When she got to the end of the bridge she stretched a paw out to find a rock to step on and got off the bridge happily. Tumak just jumped off and hopped slowly from one rock to another, going down the hill and searching for their brother. The two of them reached the bottom of the hill where Rimkia waited for them. Lunitone jumped back when she felt the prickly green grass. It was the first time either of them have seen or laid a paw on grass. Tumak and Rimkia got used to the soft, prickly, green palnts the grew from the ground and Lunitone finally got used to it and joined her brothers in some rough-housing in open area.
The three stopped and laid down in the grass, relaxing in the sun's heat as the rays heated the ground and their soft fur. Lunitone never felt so much peace in her whole life, even if it was only eight weeks long, but she never thought new things like this could be so comforting. The silence was broken by an ear-piercing KABLAM! The noise echoed throughout the land and a flock of birds who were resting in a tree flew out of it frantically. The pups stood up immediately from the new sound, their hearts pounding and ears perked towards the forest where the noise came from. KABLAM, KABLAM! Two more shots pierced the air and the pups stepped backwards away from the noise, but just looked behind them as the noise echoed off the stones and toward them, creating the illusion that it came from behind.
KABLAM! The fourth shot rang out and the pups stood still with tails up in a surprised way. All three of them stood still, waiting for another loud noise like the previous ones to ring out, but none followed. The three of them exhaled haevily after holding their breath for so long, and Rimkia hopped on one of the rocks that lead back to their den. Tumak looked at his brother curiously ignoring the paralyzed Lunitone.
"Where are you going?" Tumak asked his scrambling brother. Rimkia looked back at his brother with fear in his eyes and his chest heaving in desperation.
"You mean you don't remember the story mom told us when we first went outside?" the fearful pup asked his brother, as he climbed back down to the grassy ground, ears twitching and eyes wide. Rimkia's little legs were shaking and his paws were always shuffling at the ground getting ready to run. Tumak shook his head back and forth, not knowing what his brother was talking about; besides, they were only six weeks old when they first went outside.
"The story of the demons that walked on two legs?" Rimkia tried to freshen up his brother's memory, but it was of no use. Rimkia turned his head to Lunitone, who was still staring at the forest with stiff legs, and asked, "Lunitone you remember the story of the demon's right?"
The sister shook her head slowly back and forth keeping her eyes on the forest. As Rimkia was about to speak, Lunitone muttered to them, "Daddy was in the forest...."
Rimkia's face went from scared to sad as his ears lowered and his shaking ceased slowly, while Tumak still had a confused look. "So? He'll be back Lun, don't worry. He always comes back."
Lunitone kept staring at the forest and ignored her brother's reassurence, "He should've been back by now..." the sister snapped out of her stillness and lowered herself down to the ground and laid down, her body started to shake as she thought of her father's possible fate and whimpered pathetically. Rimkia did the same thing as his sister and whimpered as loud as she while Tumak was still confused about why they would think of their father as dead now.
A horrible scent filled Tumak's nostrils which caused his nose to wrinkle up in disgust, "Ugh, what's that smell?"
Lunitone and Rinkia stopped their whimepring and stood up, sticking their noses in the air as crouched down in anguish as the same scent filled their noses, "It smells worse than a dead fox!" Rimkia exclaimed, rubbing his nose into the grass, trying to get the stench out. Lunitone looked at the forest again and saw a dark two-legged figure walk out of the shadows of the trees as it came toward them. The unfamiliar stench seemed to get closer as the figure continued its sow, lumbering pace toward them.
She could only stare and wonder what the figure was, and found herself walking slowly towards it. As she advanced, teeth dug into her tailed and yanked her back into a bush near the base of the rock pile.
"Are you crazy?" Rimkia whispered angrily at her. Lunitone shook her head, and stared at her brother blankly, "That thing could've killed you!"
Chapter Five: The Dream and the Guardian.
"Who're the demons that walk on two legs mommy?" Lunitone saw herself as a six week-old pup outside on the plateu with her mother and brothers. It was a sunny day and her father was asleep in the den after a long day with rough-housing with her and her siblings.
"This story," her mother began as she laid down on the rocky floor with Rimkia, Tumak and Lunitone sitting down in front of her listened with perked up ears, "Is not made up. These demons ae real, and it is because of them that we don't live with a larger pack with other wolves. Anyway," her mother looked at them with her kind blue and redish eyes, "The demons walk on two legs-"
"We know that!" Rimkia blurted out, interrupting his mother.
"Shhh!" Tumak and Lunitone snapped at him, and he stuck his tongue out at hsi two siblings, and looked at his mother, signaling her to continue.
"In the past, before I and the other wolves like us were even born, Sulanei and Lunairia had a fight and a war occurred on the planet. Each side fought bravely, but if it continued on both side would loose. So, Lunaria took the coyote and mixed it with a little less than half the size of a bear, and mixed the foxes cunning with the combination and created wolves. But," she continued, eyeing her children, emphasizing the last word, "Sulanei heard of this and made his own mixed creature. He took the gorilla's size and chimpanzie's knowledge and created a hairless thing that walked on two legs and made things with their hands that surpassed everyone's knowledge. Both sides fought with honor and pride, but it was Sulanei's creatures that won the battle with the help of the demons. Though, the demons went against their own bretheren." Tilania sighed sadly and shook her disappointingly and continued, "The demons made things that sheltered them from the weather, and monsters that they would go inside of to move faster. Then, they started to kill all of the animals that got in their way."
The three pups gasped and whimpered at this. How could anyone betray their own kind like that? And why? "The demons created these sticks that sounded like thunder and killed anything with ease without even fighting. Though through their easy life, the demons have lost most of their sense of smell and hearing, so they created these things that may look like us but aren't wolves. These hounds, these pets of the demons, are as bad as they are," her mother bared her teeth and a low growl formed in her throat with anger, "They're the nose and ears of their master demons and do whatever it is they say, no matter what!"
Lunitone flattened her ears against her head and whimpered as she thought of what the demons and their pets looked like. She looked up at the sun and it shone bright in her good eye. The sun shone brighter and brighter until her whole field of vision was white from the sun and then eveything turned black.
Lunitone opened her eyes quickly and looked around her. She was still in the bush from yesterday, the stench of the demon was faint. She sighed in relief and stood up, stretching out her back and front legs and yawned heavily. She sniffed the air and smelt rain and lighting approaching her way. She got out of the bush and looked up at the sky. The sun was out but there were grey storm clouds creeping in from the left side of the bush. If I hurry, I'll be able to make it to the den before the rain comes in. She thought to herself and started to clamber up the rock pile to her home. As she came to the rock bridge, she smelt an unfamiliar scent. She lowered her snout to the ground to get a better wiff, and caught a scent of three intruding animals. Mom probably killed them fi they were any threat. She thought confident in her mother's fighting abilities, and continued to climb with more confidence. She felt as though all of her fear had left her after using it all up in the demon incident. As the pup jumped up on the platue the strange animal scent increased with the scent of wolf. It was more than normal and caution crept up into her brain, and she walked slowly toward the cave.
She froze in her footsteps as she heard claws clatter against the cave floor and advance toward the cave opening. The creature emerged from the cave's shadowy inside and yawned with a hint of a growl in its waking. The creature was a wolverine with fresh cuts and bites from the day before. Lunitone stood there, hoping it wouldn't smell her. The creature sniffed the air its little ears perking up in surprise and it looked over at Lunitone and growled. The wolverine took a threatening stance and snarled at the still pup, its yellow teeth showing and breath reeking of a fresh kill. Fresh kill. Lunitone's eyes widened as she smeled the wrecking smell of a dead canine on the wolverine's breath; it smelt so familiar. She finally recognized the scent as her mother and brother's blood.
Out of sadness and fear, Lunitone yelped and howled as loudly as she could, her voice echoing throguh the sky. The wolverine got closer and finally lunged at her, jaws open to get a hold of her soft fur, its claws were out in a stricking position, waiting to tear apart her skin and reveal her precious blood. The wolf pup backed away instinctively and heard the wovlerine's jaws snap together in mid-air, but the claws got her left eye. She whined in pain and backed away even more. She was still in stricking distance from the wolverine and it slashed at her again with one of its massive paws. She ducked and felt the paw's claws slash across the top of her muzzle, just missing her precious nose. She yipped again and retreated even furhter back away from the wolverine, making sure it couldn't strike without moving forward again.
Her yipping and the wolverine's growling woke up the other two wolverines. When the two newcomers saw what was happening, they snarled and growled in a grinning way. The wolverine that was in front of Lunitone pushed her backwards onto her side to reveal her neck. She stayed on the ground and looked up at the wolverine's gleaming evil eyes as it towered over her, getting ready to make the killing blow. Lunitone closed her eyes and felt the blood from the first wound seep through the opening and slide down her cheek, almost acting like a tear that she could not shed. The blood on the top of her muzzle dripped down to the rocky ground as she scrunched it up tensely, waiting for the wolverine to attack.
Though another growl interrupted the wolverine's assualt. As the wolverine looked over to see the intruder, a large fur bearing animal rammed into the wolverine, causing it to roll and fall on its side. Lunitone looked up at her savior and saw an old grey wolf, about ten years old, with a long scar over his left eye that has caused the eye lid to be swollen shut. He's just like me, Lunitone thought to herself, still looking at the old wolf, he's blind too! The wolverine got up and leaped onto the wolf, both of them snarling and biting at eachother ferociously. The other two wolverines snarled at the two fighting animals. Both of the remaining wolverines looked at Lunitone and advanced toward her, teeth bared and fur on end. Getting up, the pup ran off downhill toward the grass at the bottom of the hill. Instead of her cautious stepping she leaped from rock to rock with no problems despite her blind eye. The wolverines follwoed her, also leaping from rock to rock to try to catch the little puppy. Lunitone reached the rock bridge and leaped onto it and walked slowly across it.
Thunder boomed across the sky and little droplets of rain came down slowly at first and then grew in number and speed. She was soaking wet when the wolverines came close to the bridge, and she walked across the bridge, trying not to slip on the slick rock. The wolveines went on the rock one by one, the first one growled loudly. Lunitone turned her whole body around slowly and faced the wovleines, still retreating slowly on the rock. The wolverine tired to lunge at her but it slipped on the wet rock and fell over the side of the bridge, but caught the edge of the rock. It tried desperately to get back on the rock, clawing at the surface as its companion watched its frantic attempts, but its claws only slipped off and the wolverine fell down the deep trench to its death. The second wolverine just advanced a bit quicker to Lunitone, who had gained a bit more distance away from the pasued wolverines, and tried to get in close enough to just swipe at her.
She looked behind her and noticed she was close enough fromt he end of the bridge to jump it. The wolverine advanced quickly toward her, but Lunitone was too quick; she turned and jumped off the bridge and landed on a rock on the other side. She looked back at the wolverine. It was hesitating, deciding on whether to chance the jump or not. After seeing what happened to its companion, the wolverine continued to lumber across the bridge, watching Lunitone run and leap down the rocky hill. Jumping from rock to rock, Lunitone stopped at about five yards away from the bottom of the hill. She breathed heavily and looked back up the hill, wondering how the old wolf was handling the wolverine. Her ears perked as she heard a low growl in front of her. She lowered her sights and saw the wolverine growling and snarling at her.
Her blood rushed faster through her veins and her heart started to pound faster with fear and the short fuse of adreneline zoomed through her whole body, and turning tail ran back down the slippery hill. The wolverine followed, little rocks tumbling downhill after her. The wolverine leaped at her and tackled her little body. She yipped as she and the wolverine tumbled in the rocks, fighting eachother. Lunitone turned her head and bit into the wolverine's paw and it shoved her back against a rock, her little body slamming against the hard wet stones. As Lunitone smacked against the rock, cold blood came up to her mouth and she wind knocked out of her. She slumped to the rocky ground and coughed, spitting out the little blood in her mouth. Moving for the next attack, Lunitone crawled to her paws and staggered slowly back towards the bottom of the pile.
The wolverine jumped from rock to rock towards Lunitone, not easily giving up the chase. The pup stopped and looked over her shoulder, seeing the wolverine only three feet away from her. Before she could jump away from the hungry being, the wolverine takled her its heavy body pushing them both forward down the rocky slope. The two canines tumbled down the rock, their ribs and backs smashing against the hard stones. Lunitone placed her paws on the wolverine's stomach, while they were in the air for a short time, and pushed as hard as she could prying the wolverine off of her little body. She curled into a ball and bounced off one of the rocks and landed on smooth ground, sliding forward a few inches, her body sprawled painfully on the ground with her belly on the comfortable ground. She opened her eyes a little and looked over to ehr right, shifting her head painfully enough to see the wolverine laying down five yards away from her. Not wanting to wait for the wolverine to wake, Lunitone got up slowly her legs, ribs and head aching from the rough fall. She shivered as the rain continued to fall and she looked up toward her home, wondering how the other wolf was with the last wolverine.
The wolverine on the ground grumbled. Lunitone looked at it, relieved it was not on its paws. She looked at the forest and limped toward it, trying not to put too much weight on each leg. If Papa is still alive, he'll be somewhere in the forest, she thought as she limped toward the tree line that bordered the large open field. As she limped toward her destination, the rain started to stop and by the time she reached the edge of the forest the rain stopped its assault and the thunder ceased. Her wounds started to throb and sting after the soothing rain stopped from washign away most of the pain. Lunitone proceeded forward into the wet forest, sniffing the ground as she went, looking for her father's scent hoping the rain hadn't washed it away. With no luck, Lunitone wandered the forest, looking for a place to rest her sore paws. A wonderful noise rushed to Lunitone's ears; the sound of running water. With new strength, the pup ran toward the direction the was while being careful not to run into anything in the dense woodland.
She raced on, wanting to soak her paws in the cool water and relax for a long while. The ground became harder as she raced deeper into the forest, and soon the ground became stone and there were no more trees surrounding her, just the roaring of water that drove her to run. She came to a cliff edge the had mist from pouring water close by. She advanced slowly along the narrow edge of the cliff. As she continued, the roar of water grew louder and louder. Then, right in front of her in the mist, was a giant waterfall. As she continued forward a strong stench filled Lunitone's nostrils, a smell she hoped she wouldn't encounter soon. She looked over her shoulder and her eyes widened with horror. Standing behind her in the mist close enough for her to see, was the wolverine that chased her down the rock hill. Anger and hunger glowed in the wolverine's eyes like a mass of bees swarming everywhere. As the wolverine took one step forward, Lunitone faced forward and ran as fast as she could, hearing the wolverine pounding after her. Her legs started to hurt again from the fall as she ran, trying to ignore the pain. As she ran, the cliff path went behind the massive waterfall, little drops of water dripped onto her re-opened cuts and small head.
The mist became less thick just in time for just ahead was the end of the path. Luntione skidded to a stop inches away from the edge of the cliff that dropped down in a raging river that roared louder than the waterfall. She could feel that the ground beneath her was light and not supportive, especially at the end. A loud growl made Lunitone turn towards the source. The wolverine had its teeth bared and fur standing on end. The way the monster had its teeth bared, and the way its eyes were gleaming, made it seem as though the wolverine was grinning. He knew his prey was cornered, and there was no escape this time. The wolverine advanced forward toward the paralyzed Lunitone, growling amusingly as the space between them became smaller and smaller. Lunitone's eyes were wide with fear as she stared at the evil creature that was laughing at her patheticness. When the wolverine was just inches away from Lunitone's muzzle, a new growl came into their ears. Lunitone and the wolverine looked around puzzledly, looking for the source. The wolf pup looked at the stone ground and saw a crack zipping from one edge of the cliff to the other behind the wolverine's back legs.
Before she and the wolverine do a thing, the ground below them plunged downward toward the raging river. Lunitone yelped with surprise as the air rushed into her face as she fell closer to the river. She head the chunk of rock she was on plunge into the water first, then she broke through the water's moving surface. The cold water pierced through Lunitone's fur and rushed against her skin. The cold impact pushed all of the air in her out, as the current pushed her unwillingly forward down the river. Instinctively, she started to paddle for the surface for air. Gasping for air, her head shot out from below the surface and into the fresh air. Her paws smaked at the surface, trying to keep her head above the water and tryiong to fight against the current. The cold air and water made her shiver as she tried to swim for shore. Remembering the wolverine, she looked around for the enemy, hoping he wasn't anywhere near her, but found no trace of the vicious creature. Trying to reach shore, she paddled as best as she could toward the muddy beaches, but it just seemed that the current became stronger and stronger as if it wanted her to drown.
With no other alternative, Lunitone started to yip and whine as loud as she could, hoping someone would hear her and help. She could see rocks ahead in the river, but they were too far ahead and she would probably be dead by the time she reached them. She looked at the shore one last time, thinking it would be the last time she would see it, and saw a wolf running along shore after her. Lunitone gasped as she recognized the wolf; it was the old wolf who attacked the wolverines! The gray wolf was looking at her and then looked forward, running ahead of her bobbing head and flapping paws. The wolf ran ahead for a short distance and then jumped into the river, his head disappearing in the water's waves. Then his head surfaced and he did his best to swim toward her. After struggling against the current and Lunitone not fighting against the river's strenght, the old wolf reached the soaked pup and grabbed her by the scruff of the neck with his huge jaws gently. He pulled her forward and swam with the river towards the rocks ahead, while Lunitone did her best to keep her head above the water while the older wolf's head would bob in and out of the river. Soon, the two wolves reached a rock. The old wolf placed his front paws on the rock, but they slipped off and he growled in frustration. Another came close and the wolf tried again, but his paws slipped too. Finally, the old one placed his paws on yet another rock, but this time dug his claws as best as he could into the rock, getting a good hold on the slippery object.
The old wolf pulled himself and Lunitone up on the rock and stood there, looking at the raging water surrounding them. Thinking they were safe, Lunitone tried to wiggle out of the wolf's jaws, but he held onto her furry scruff and bit down harder as a warning to not move. The quick little jab of pain made Lunitone stop her squirming and to be as still as she could. The wolf looked left and right, swinging the hanging pup in his jaws. The old wolf then looked straight ahead and stepped back as far as the rock would go without going into the cold river again.
"Hang on," the old wolf mumbled to Lunitone through the mouth full of fur, "As soon as you fell water touch you, start paddling."
The wolf moved forward quickly, faster than Lunitone's parents ever could in such a close space, and jumped high into the air from the rock. Lunitone looked down as the two were in the air for a short time, and then they started to plunge toward the river again. Lunitone gasped and held her breath just as they splashed into the freezing water once again. Doing what the wolf told her, Lunitone started to move her paws, trying to resurface instinctively but the grip the old wolf had on her scruff gave her limited moving. She could feel the current push at her little body and could sense the old wolf swimming towards something, though has not surfaced for air either. As soon as Lunitone was about yip out, hoping he would hear her and surface, her head felt a gush of wind and fresh air whirl around her. Soon her whole body was out of the river and was exposed to the cold air. Looking down she saw that the old wolf had swam onto shore, for there was a muddy ground below her hanging body.
The old wolf walked out on the grass and dropped Lunitone to the ground and walked away to shake off the water from his grey coat. Lunitone stood up from her rump and shook her fur too, trying to get most of the water off of her shivering body. Lunitone looked at the wolf and saw him walking off back toward the forest, leaving her standing there in the cold air as the remaining droplets of water dripped from her damp and bleeding coat. Lunitone walked the opposite way that the old wolf did along the shore trying to find a good place to sleep before going off to look for her father again. She sniffed the air again, hoping his scent would somehow be on the air. And it was. The sweet smell of her father filled her nostrils and she perked her ears up happily and ran toward the scource, follwing the faint scent of her remaining family member. She ran through the bushes and trees, not caring where she was or where she was going, she just wanted to find her dad. She smeleld the air again and the scent grew stronger; she was getting close, just over this bush. She jumped through the bush in excitement and landed on the ground perfectly, not noticing her wounds were bleeding more and more.
But what she saw was more painful than her cuts. The scent of her father was over whelming, and it was mixed with another faint but familiar scent; the demons. There was her father, laying on the bloddy ground motionless and bleeding imensley from four wounds. His ribs did not move and his ears didn't even twitch when a fly landed on his ear and moved its little arms rappidly. Lunitone walked forward slowly and cautiously and stood next to her dead father. She poked her nose at his fur, looking for the four wounds to try to stop the bleeding. She found one, but it was peculiar wound. She poked her blood stained nose around more and found the other three wounds that were the same as the first. All they were were just small holes with something lodged inside of them. How could this've killed him? Regardless, she started to lick at the wounds, the sweet red liquid touched her little tongue and made her think of deer meat. She remembered its wonderful taste and her stomach growled. She hadn't eaten in a long while, and the incident that just happened had made her hunger even larger. She kept licking her father's wounds, his blood was starting to fill her up a little bit, but the bleeding wouldn't stop bleeding. She kept licking until she heard one of the bush leaves start to rustle. She stopped licking and looked at the moving bush, and a large rat, about half her size, emerged from the bush squeking and showing its yellow teeth in anger. It had smelled Jukula's and Lunitone's blood and had come for a feast, but after seeing Lunitone the rat knew it would have to fight for its meal this time. The rat hissed and scurried forward and nipped at Luntione's paws, forcing her to walk backwards from the yellow toothed rodent. Lunitone jumped over her father's body and the rat didn't follow, instead it started to bite into Jukula's limp leg, ripping the skin away from the muscles.
When Lunitone could smell fresh blood seep out of her father's body, she grew angry. No rodent was going to eath her father while she was here! Baring her teeth and growling, she jumped onto her father's ribs and looked down upon the rat that tore away the skin. Lunitone growled loudly and the rat looked up, hissing in annoyance and anger; both of them were willing to fight for this corpse. The rat retreated and Lunitone jumped down from her father's rib cage, snarling at the rat and fur bristling. The rat snarled pathetically then flattened its ears against its head ans curried off. Lunitone relaxed and looked at the scurring rat in curiosity then smiled and stood up straight with her head held high in pride. She trotted back over to her father and returned to licking his wounds, but a low and angr growl stopped and she looked up. There ontop of her dad was the wolverine that fell with her into the river. The wolverine looked exhausted and had cuts and gashes on him from the rocks in the river; this time the wolverine was weak.
She remembered Jukula always telling her that when hunting, you must go for the slowest, weakest, oldest, or youngest of the herd if you want an easy kill. Eyes glowing with thoguht, Lunitone growled back at the wounded wolverine and her fur stood up on end and stood in a threatening way with her tail pointed straight up, telling the wolverine she wasn't going to run. The wolverine's eyes showed a hint of worry but was clouded up again in anger. The wolverine jumped from Jukula's body and landed behind Lunitone. She spun around quickly and so did the wolverine. They both circled eachother threateningly, snarling and fur on end. They were going to fight until the other died or gave up. It was the wolverine that attacked first. It lunged at Lunitone and she jumped to the side, still keeping her head facing the wolverine trying to keep him in the view of her good eye. As the wolverine was beginning to look for Lunitone's position, she jumped at the wolverine's back and dug her claws into the little canine's shoulders biting on his ear ad tugging on it forcefully. The wolverine growled and snarled angrily and painfully. The vicious canine craned his neck so he could get a hold of the attacking pup, but every time he moved his head Lunitone would just pull and bite harder on the wolverine's ear and her claws would dig deeper in its shoulders, almost reaching to bone.
One of Lunitone's back legs slipped over the side of the wolverine, and taking this chance, thge wolverine twisted over and bit into her leg. Instead of yipping out and letting go of the wolverine's ear, she used this sudden pain to jerk her head towards the wolverine's and heard a ripping noise as she did so, followed by the wolverine's scream of pain as it let go of Lunitone's leg. Lunitone tumbled forward off of the wolverine and stood up, wondering what she did to the canine to make it scream like that. Then she realized that she hadn't let go of the wolverine's ear, even when she fell. She crossed her eyes, even if she could only see out of one, andcould faintly see a red and black object hanging out of her mouth. She dropped it on the ground and loked at it regularly and saw that it was a chunk of the wolverine's ear. Lunitone looked up at the wolverine who was still howling and growling in pain and surprise. The wolverine laid down and pawed at its stub that used to be an ear. Lunitone took the chance and charged at the wolverine with her fangs showing and growling. She leaped next to the wolverine and before it could react, Lunitone sank her teeth into the wolverine's neck, looking for the life vein that'll end the wolverine's life with just one pop. The wolverine clawed and scratched at Lunitone's chest and sides, but she wouldn't let go. She just bit down harder and heard a faint little pop. The wovlerine's clawing ceased and his huge paws fell to the ground limply and Lunitone felt its blood on her nose and most of her muzzle.
Letting go of the wolverine's limp neck, she looked down at it and nudged its shoulder with a paw. It didn't move. Its eyes were still open and she could see the terror in the dead eyes. Lunitone started to shake uncontrolably and sat down, panting as she stared at the dead wolverine. Her first kill was the most feared animal in the forest! But why does it seem like murder? She asked herself. Her stomach growled and she looked at the wolverine once more and stood up, and bit into its fur and skin once more, and ripped it off, exposing more blood and meat. She ripped a chunk of meat off and began to eat. Her first meal by herself made Lunitone feel lonely and after swallowing a mouth full of meat she whimpered her sorrows.
The next day, Lunitone's muscles were stiff with tiredness after her 'adventure' yesterday. She slept next to ehr father's dead body, protecting it and making sure no one would eat him. The dead wolverine was half bones and half skin and meat. She walked over to the wolverine and ate a little mouth full of meat, ignoring the swarm of flies that buzzed over the corpse. Her scent was completly covered in Jukula's and the wolverine's scent, giving her a horrible scent of death. She sniffed the and the smell of a strange wolf came to her nostrils. She hid behind Jukula's body and waited, lisitening for the bushes to part and the sound of paw steps to fill the air. It happened, and Lunitone waited for the wolf to get close enough for her to attack. Thank goodness her scent was covered by the stench of death. Leaning against Jukula's spine, she felt the intruder poke at the stomach. She waited a bit longer, then she heard the wolf's head lift up. That's when Lunitone jumped quickly up in the air and clamo her little teeth on the wolf's muzzle.
The wolf snarled in surprise and started to shake its head back and forth, trying to shake off the little furball. Lunitone just bit down harder and harder every time the wolf moved. Then, a huge paw swiped at Lunitone's ribs and she let go of the muzlle and fell to the ground and rolled once before getting back up and running to her father's body, standing in front of the intruder's way in a fighting stance with her tail held high, fur bristled, and teeth bared. She looked at the intruder and relaxed as she noticed the wolf's face. It was the old wolf who saved her from the wolverines and river. The old one looked at the half eaten wolverine body then at her with a wise look on his face that was serious but tough at the same time.
"Did you kill that wolverine?" the old wolf asked with a serious tone that was craky with age but firm like a leader. Lunitone's fur flattened against her back and she started to relax, trusting the wolf wouldn't hurt her, and nodded.
The old wolf looked at her then at Jukula's corpse and asked, "Is that the last of your kin?"
Lunitone nodded again and looked down at the ground in sadness and started to whimper her sadness, "Why are you whimpering?" the old wolf asked Lunitone. She looked up at the old wolf with a questioning look, and he repeated himself, "Why are you whimpering?"
Lunitone looked at him and replied, "My family's dead." The wolf shook his head and said:
"I have a lot to teach you little one." He walked over to Lunitone and sat down next to her, looking at her, "Do you knoww how to howl?" he asked.
"Oh, yes I do!" Lunitone replied happily, standing up. She lifted her head toward the sky and howled playfully. She stopped when a paw smacked her upside her head. She looked at the old wolf angrily and growled, "What was that for?"
The old wolf growled back, showing his large teeth, "Do not address me that way young pup!" Lunitone cowered down and tucked her tail between her legs, then rolled on her back exposing her belly in a surrendering way, saying in wolf, "Your the boss."
"My name is Reynald," the old wolf said to her more calmly, as Lunitone sat back on her haunches. "Do you know how to hunt, fight, track, listen, and keep authority inside of a pack?" Reynald asked her, but before she could reply he added, "What's your name?"
"Lunitone." she answered him, and continued, "And I think I know how to track; but I definetly know how fight and listen, but I'm sure about the hunting part."
"The lets get started," Reynald said in a kind tone. He stood up and walked towards the trees with Lunitone following close behind. She paused and looked abck at the corpse that was once her dad, and then she looked back at the walking Reynald. He was her new guardian, her protector, and her teacher. She raced after Reynald and they disappeared into the forest.
I'm working on chapter six, and I'm not too sure when the winners' characters will be put in the story. If you win second or third place, your character might be in book 2. Again, please PM me if you're going to enter and post it on the topic thingy here

Saun wrote: So you guys know what the begining of the book is like, I'll post the first 5 chapters; here goes: Chapter One: Barely Escaped "Run, run! "Keep moving Tilania," the brown male urged his mate, "They'll catch us if we stop." "I'm tired though Jukula," the tan wolf, Tilania whined, "You know I tire easily now," the she-wolf glanced quickly at her stomach, and the dark brown male, Jukula, understood. "I know," he urged, nudging Tilania's shoulder softly towards the other side of the creek, "But for their sake, keep moving, or they shall never see Lunairia or Sulanei." The two wolves crossed the creek and up the other side of the hill, and looked at their once wonderful home. "Follow every step I take Tilania," he ordered, "I'll choose the easier route up so you don't slip." Tilania nodded and followed his every step. You go first." Tilania climbed up onto the hunk of stone slowly, and stood up hesitantly. "What're we going to do for food?" Jukula's eyes widened with rememberence, and his ears lowered in sadness. "One territroy falls," Jukula mumbled to himself, "and another is born; and so is life." Chapter Two: Prey for the Pack The next morning, after getting his sleep, Jukula went out to look for any sign of food for Tilania and himself. "Yes," jukula replied laying down, "It's just getting the food up here that's a problem." "I would have to agree," Tilania said, gulping down a chunk of meat, "Well, I looked at the plain from the rock at the edge of the platue, and found that there are other wolves here. "This place is so peaceful," Tilania whispered as she closed her eyes smiling, "We should stay here, even when the puppies do come." "I'll stay where you stay my love," he nuzzled her behind the ears happily, and groomed her head. "What shall we name our pups when they are eight weeks old?" Tilania asked, looking at the tops of the trees of the forest. "When we find out their personaility," Jukula answered, "For now, let us rest. Lunairia has blessed us with this new place, so lets enjoy it while we can." Tilania nodded and smiled in agreement. They both laid their heads down and took a nap in the warm sun rays of the day. Chapter Three: Puppies The moon was full and it seemed every star was out. "They will," Jukula replied, watching the pups going to sleep on one another, "What shall we name them?" "Jukula!" Tilania snapped at him in astonishment, and in a whisper as to not wake the now sleeping pups, "You know we cannot name the pups until they are six weeks old!" "I know," he said smiling, "The old tridition, naming pups at eight weeks old, so that way you know their true personality; but we should at least think up of the names when the time comes." "Guess you're right," Tilania said, smiling. "Get some rest for now dear," Jukula said, nuzzling his mate behind her cheek bone, "You've had a long day." Tilania nodded in agreement and chuckled amusingly. So, Tilania and Jukula named her Lunitone, meaning, 'The moon and sun.' Tumak, Rimkia, and Lunitone were always wrestling with eachother or just climbing on the rocks. "C'mon Lunitone!" Rimkia called to his sister impatiently, "You're slower than a turtle!" "I'm going as fast as I can," Lunitone mumbled shyly. Rimkia turned his head to Lunitone, who was still staring at the forest with stiff legs, and asked, "Lunitone you remember the story of the demon's right?" The sister shook her head slowly back and forth keeping her eyes on the forest. As Rimkia was about to speak, Lunitone muttered to them, "Daddy was in the forest...." Rimkia's face went from scared to sad as his ears lowered and his shaking ceased slowly, while Tumak still had a confused look. "So? He'll be back Lun, don't worry. He always comes back." Lunitone kept staring at the forest and ignored her brother's reassurence, "He should've been back by now..." the sister snapped out of her stillness and lowered herself down to the ground and laid down, her body started to shake as she thought of her father's possible fate and whimpered pathetically. Rimkia did the same thing as his sister and whimpered as loud as she while Tumak was still confused about why they would think of their father as dead now. A horrible scent filled Tumak's nostrils which caused his nose to wrinkle up in disgust, "Ugh, what's that smell?" Lunitone and Rinkia stopped their whimepring and stood up, sticking their noses in the air as crouched down in anguish as the same scent filled their noses, "It smells worse than a dead fox!" Rimkia exclaimed, rubbing his nose into the grass, trying to get the stench out. Lunitone shook her head, and stared at her brother blankly, "That thing could've killed you!" "But," Luntione stammered, "it didn't seem like it was going to hurt me." "That's the idea!" Rimkia whispered even more angrily at her, "That's what they want you to think, but they will hurt you! Anyway," her mother looked at them with her kind blue and redish eyes, "The demons walk on two legs-" "We know that!" Rimkia blurted out, interrupting his mother. Then, they started to kill all of the animals that got in their way." The three pups gasped and whimpered at this. How could anyone betray their own kind like that? And why? "The demons created these sticks that sounded like thunder and killed anything with ease without even fighting. Though through their easy life, the demons have lost most of their sense of smell and hearing, so they created these things that may look like us but aren't wolves. These hounds, these pets of the demons, are as bad as they are," her mother bared her teeth and a low growl formed in her throat with anger, "They're the nose and ears of their master demons and do whatever it is they say, no matter what!" Lunitone flattened her ears against her head and whimpered as she thought of what the demons and their pets looked like. "Hang on," the old wolf mumbled to Lunitone through the mouth full of fur, "As soon as you fell water touch you, start paddling." The wolf moved forward quickly, faster than Lunitone's parents ever could in such a close space, and jumped high into the air from the rock. The old wolf looked at her then at Jukula's corpse and asked, "Is that the last of your kin?" Lunitone nodded again and looked down at the ground in sadness and started to whimper her sadness, "Why are you whimpering?" the old wolf asked Lunitone. She looked up at the old wolf with a questioning look, and he repeated himself, "Why are you whimpering?" Lunitone looked at him and replied, "My family's dead." The wolf shook his head and said: "I have a lot to teach you little one." He walked over to Lunitone and sat down next to her, looking at her, "Do you knoww how to howl?" he asked. "Oh, yes I do!" Lunitone replied happily, standing up. She lifted her head toward the sky and howled playfully. She stopped when a paw smacked her upside her head. She looked at the old wolf angrily and growled, "What was that for?" The old wolf growled back, showing his large teeth, "Do not address me that way young pup!" Lunitone cowered down and tucked her tail between her legs, then rolled on her back exposing her belly in a surrendering way, saying in wolf, "Your the boss." "My name is Reynald," the old wolf said to her more calmly, as Lunitone sat back on her haunches. "Do you know how to hunt, fight, track, listen, and keep authority inside of a pack?" Reynald asked her, but before she could reply he added, "What's your name?" "Lunitone." she answered him, and continued, "And I think I know how to track; but I definetly know how fight and listen, but I'm sure about the hunting part." "The lets get started," Reynald said in a kind tone.
