When I was 10 years old, I found something very intriguing. On my first computer, I searched for Balto sites and something caught my attention.. I read on a website that there was going to be a Balto sequal, BUT it was not Wolf Quest. This Balto sequal was going to be called Balto: Dog of the North. The plot is fuzzy in my memory now, but it sounded so much more powerful than Wolf Quest. (By the way, sorry if this topic isn't in the right forum) I VAGUELY remember it being about Balto's heroism trying to be destroyed by some man who at first captured and used him all over the country for display and stuff, only wanting money. Then, as Balto managed to escape, the man decided to track him down at all costs. As Balto ruined the man's career, his goal was to find his way back home..and lose his tracks to the man. Crossing the Canadian border, he faces many challenges and so on. Jenna, with the help of Boris, Muk, and Luk, go on a search to find Balto. The town of Nome were quite aware of why Balto wasn't around, seeing him as a famous dog all over now but were not aware what he was really going through. Much more was going to happen with new characters, and many old ones. Jenna does have puppies later on in the movie, but the story is still focused on Balto. I also believe that there were wolves, and/or the White Wolf were going to be a part of it. From my sources as a 10-11 year old, I found that Steven Spielberg WAS going to direct it, and try to bring the old cast back. Something must've happened, because they didn't continue the movie after the script and storyboards. Maybe the budget couldn't handle a sequal with quality just like the first movie? No time? I don't know, but it would've most likely been great..do any of you agree?

Sounds like it was going to be good. But such a shame it wasn't made.

This isn't true. Well, the story isn't; it was probably just a dream of a fan, or a fanfic. As for the title, yes, Wolf Quest has been (wrongly) named Dog of the north on an article about Amanda McBroom, which is one of the songs writer.
But that's all, and the "dog of the north" name was just a type error from the guy who wrote the article, but it was and has always been Wolf Quest.

Ahh, I see.. you're probably right. It's been 7 years since I've read about it, so my 10 year old brain probably only took in the interesting stuff and not the facts. xD Thanks for informing me. <3
