Guardian’s of Ga’hoole

Chapter 1
In the Wolf Forest Kingdom of Tyto. Soren lived with his Mum, Da, and his older brother Kludd. Soren lay in his home, that had been his home since he was born. Soren’s parents were out hunting snowshoe hares. Soren watched for them, hoping they would be home very soon. Soren was hungry.
Soren could see his parents. They had snowshoe hares as Soren thought they would bring. Tonight was special. Soren knew that soon a new sister or brother would be born. He didn’t know if it would be today or tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Soren ate the snowshoe hare and looked at Kludd, as Kludd glared at him. Soren’s parents were laughing, and talking, as they told jokes.
The next day the sun was rising. Soren’s new sister or brother was about to be born. His parents smiled, and nuzzled each other. Soren knew his Mum and Da liked, and loved each other a lot. He was happy for this because he would rather have loving parents than fighting ones.
It was now about the middle of the day, when the sun was in the middle of the sky. Eglatine had just been born. Soren looked at his little sister and smiled. “Hello, little sister,”said Soren. Later Soren’s Da would do his speech. Soren had heard it once, and didn’t look forward to hearing it again.
It was now sunset. Da was doing his speech. Soren listened but he felt he was about to fall asleep. Eglatine listened to her Da. She giggled a bit. “We live in the Wolf Forest Kingdom of Tyto. Timber Wolves, which is what are kind is, has been around for a long time. We are descendant's of our ancestors long ago. We will continue on our kind into the future. Each wolf is special and unique. I hope that you and many others will enjoy life in our forest of Tyto. Eventually you will have your own family, mates, and children. I also hope that we can help you for your future.”said Soren’s Da.
Kludd was learning how to hunt. He went out with Mum and Da for the lesson. Soren watched as they went. In a month Soren would be doing lessons, by then Kludd would already know how to hunt as well as he ever could hunt. Soren couldn’t wait. He didn’t know how long a month was though.
Soren saw scavengers eating what was left of yesterday’s supper. Soren didn’t want to see that so he went farther back into the den. He laid down beside Eglatine. Eglatine looked at Soren and smiled. Soren smiled back. Soren thought that Eglatine had the cutest little face.
Later Kludd came back from lessons. The empty moon was dark. Soren’s Mum and Da looked at Soren. “Soren when the moon is empty again, your lessons will start, w hen the moon is empty it will be a complete cycle so it would equal a month,”said Mum. Soren thought about this. “It sure will,”said Da.
Soren couldn’t sleep. Soren felt something hit him hard. He scared him so much he ran out of the den. He couldn’t see anything. “Mum! Da!”said Soren but his parents didn’t hear. A figure with glowing yellow eyes looked at Soren. Before Soren knew it he was on the back of some creature heading for a place that he didn’t know. He wished he could go back but he knew it wasn’t possible. Soren closed his eyes and waited.
Chapter 2
Soren looked around and looked at the figure who had brought him here. It was a wolf. “Who are you?”asked Soren. “Horon and don’t ask any questions, or you will be severely punished. Do I make myself clear orpan?”asked Horon. “Yes sir,”said Soren. “p and if you are wondering, this is St. Aggies,”said Horon. ”St. Aggies?”asked Soren. “Stop asking questions,”said Horon. “Sorry,”said Soren. “Just don’t do it,”said Horon.
Soren was forced to walk into a cave. ”Get in line,”said Trooper who was the guard. Trooper looked at Horon. “Hello Horon, and good job,”said Trooper. Soren was pushed into a line. “Hello who are you?”asked a wolf behind Soren. “I am Soren, and am from the Wolf Forest of Tyto,”said Soren. “Tyto, well nice to meet you Soren,”said Gylfie. ”My name is Gylfie and I am from the Wolf Desert of Kuneer.
“So how were you captured?”asked Soren. “Yes, I ran out of my parent’s den, and before I knew it a wolf with glowing yellow eyes captured me,”said Gylfie. “Well I was hit with something, then I ran out, and this wolf called Horon captured me. I wonder why he called me an orphan,”said Soren. “The wolf that captured me also called me an orphan,”said Gylfie. “I guess we’ll find out,”said Gylfie.
They were being assigned to their dens. Soren walked over to assigned den. He hoped Gylfie would be assigned the same den. She was assigned to the den next to Soren.. All the wolves looked to their den leader. “Call me angel,”said Nesa. “I am your den leader, the number one rule of St. Aggies is no questions at all, or you will be severely punished. You are now orphans, we took you in because you were left by yourself from your parents, so enjoy you new chance at St. Aggies,”said Nesa.
“You will each get a number for your name, so get in line in front of me, and I shall number you,”said Nesa. Soren was third in line. Nesa started numbering the wolves. “Hello there, you get a special number, you will be number eight. Evens are specials and I especially love evens,”said Nesa.
It was now nighttime. All the wolves were asleep. Soren looked at Gylfie. Soren wished to sleep by her so her could talk to her. A whistle blew, and all the wolves stood up, and repeated their number. Soren did the same. Everyone then went to sleep. During the sleep walk Soren had gotten next to Gylfie. Gylfie looked like she was sleeping.
Gylfie was actually thinking. She looked up a little and smiled. Soren knew that Gylfie wasn’t asleep since she looked up. Sleep monitors were all around they watched the orphans.
Soren heard the whistle blow again. He stood up. So did Gylfie. They did the sleep walk, as they called it. The sleep walk stopped, and Soren sat back down beside Gylfie. Gylfie turned her head towards Soren. She closed her eyes so the sleep monitors wouldn’t expect anything. “Soren I think I know why they make us repeat our numbers. It is so we get moon blinked,”said Gylfie. “What is moon blinking?”asked Soren. “it’s like getting hypnotized, like making us obedient so we obey them, but we think we are nothing, and it is unlikely that you can ever stop and get out of it. Soren we mustn’t get moon blinked, or we will feel like nothing, and I feel this St. Aggies is doing something evil, very evil,”said Gylfie.
