The first movie, the animation was great and the story was really well done, incorporating the real life story and the made-up story, and the voice actors were the best out of all the movies and you really felt for the characters and could really relate to them, the original was the best by far!

My vote would go to the first movie. The first film, to me, really comprised the emotional and thematic core of the story, establishing the characters and their relationships, dealing with themes of acceptance, love and endurance against the odds. As enjoyable as the sequels were, to me they feel a lot more like extensions of what we already saw in the first film. Like running into a friend on the street after a long time apart, it feels good to see the characters again and to find out what their up to, but inevitably things have changed somewhat and it doesn't have quite the same resonance as the first time. That's not to say that the sequels were not good films, I enjoyed them a great deal and I look forward to more in the future, but it doesn't feel quite the same as the first time, and maybe thats just par for the course. Also in terms of quality of animation and music I'd go with the first film again, though of course that comes with the territory when dealing with a lower budget.
